بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
1
تَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِى نَزَّلَ ٱلْفُرْقَانَ عَلَىٰ عَبْدِهِۦ لِيَكُونَ لِلْعَـٰلَمِينَ نَذِيرًا tabārakal ladhī nazzalal-furqāna `alā `abdihi liyakūna lil`ālamīna nadhīrā Blessed is He who sent down the Criterion to His servant that he may be a warner to all the nations.
2
ٱلَّذِى لَهُۥ مُلْكُ ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ وَلَمْ يَتَّخِذْ وَلَدًا وَلَمْ يَكُن لَّهُۥ شَرِيكٌ فِى ٱلْمُلْكِ وَخَلَقَ كُلَّ شَىْءٍ فَقَدَّرَهُۥ تَقْدِيرًا alladhī lahu mulkus samāwāti wal-arḍi walam yattakhidh waladan walam yakun lahu sharīkun fil mulki wakhalaqa kulla shay-in faqaddarahu taqdīrā He, to whom belongs the sovereignty of the heavens and the earth, and who did not take any offspring, nor has He any partner in sovereignty, and He created everything and determined it in a precise measure.
3
وَٱتَّخَذُوا۟ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً لَّا يَخْلُقُونَ شَيْـًٔا وَهُمْ يُخْلَقُونَ وَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ لِأَنفُسِهِمْ ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا وَلَا يَمْلِكُونَ مَوْتًا وَلَا حَيَوٰةً وَلَا نُشُورًا wattakhadhū min dūnihi ālihatan lā yakhluqūna shay-an wahum yukhlaqūna walā yamlikūna li-anfusihim ḍarran walā naf`an walā yamlikūna mawtan walā ḥayātan walā nushūrā Yet they have taken gods besides Him who create nothing and have themselves been created, and who have no control over their own harm or benefit and have no control over [their own] death, life, or resurrection.
4
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوٓا۟ إِنْ هَـٰذَآ إِلَّآ إِفْكٌ ٱفْتَرَىٰهُ وَأَعَانَهُۥ عَلَيْهِ قَوْمٌ ءَاخَرُونَ ۖ فَقَدْ جَآءُو ظُلْمًا وَزُورًا waqālal ladhīna kafarū in hādhā illā ifkunif-tarāhu wa-a`ānahu `alayhi qawmun ākharūn ۖ faqad jā-ū ẓul-man wazūrā The faithless say, ‘This is nothing but a lie that he has fabricated, and other people have abetted him in it.’ Thus they have certainly come out with wrongdoing and falsehood.
5
وَقَالُوٓا۟ أَسَـٰطِيرُ ٱلْأَوَّلِينَ ٱكْتَتَبَهَا فَهِىَ تُمْلَىٰ عَلَيْهِ بُكْرَةً وَأَصِيلًا waqālū asāṭīrul-awwalīnak-tatabahā fahiya tumlā `alayhi bukratan wa-aṣīlā They say, ‘He has taken down myths of the ancients, and they are dictated to him morning and evening.’
6
قُلْ أَنزَلَهُ ٱلَّذِى يَعْلَمُ ٱلسِّرَّ فِى ٱلسَّمَـٰوَٰتِ وَٱلْأَرْضِ ۚ إِنَّهُۥ كَانَ غَفُورًا رَّحِيمًا qul anzalahul ladhī ya`lamus sirra fis samāwāti wal-arḍ ۚ innahu kāna ghafūran raḥīmā Say, ‘It has been sent down by Him who knows the hidden in the heavens and the earth. Indeed He is all-forgiving, all-merciful.’
7
وَقَالُوا۟ مَالِ هَـٰذَا ٱلرَّسُولِ يَأْكُلُ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَيَمْشِى فِى ٱلْأَسْوَاقِ ۙ لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ إِلَيْهِ مَلَكٌ فَيَكُونَ مَعَهُۥ نَذِيرًا waqālū māli hādhar rasūli ya-kuluṭ ṭa`āma wayamshī fil-aswāqi lawlā unzila ilayhi malakun fayakūna ma`ahu nadhīrā And they say, ‘What sort of apostle is this who eats food and walks in the marketplaces? Why has not an angel been sent down to him so as to be a warner along with him?’
8
أَوْ يُلْقَىٰٓ إِلَيْهِ كَنزٌ أَوْ تَكُونُ لَهُۥ جَنَّةٌ يَأْكُلُ مِنْهَا ۚ وَقَالَ ٱلظَّـٰلِمُونَ إِن تَتَّبِعُونَ إِلَّا رَجُلًا مَّسْحُورًا aw yulqā ilayhi kanzun aw takūnu lahu jannatun ya-kulu minhā ۚ waqālaẓ ẓālimūna in tattabi`ūna illā rajulan mas-ḥūrā Or, ‘[Why is not] a treasure thrown to him, or [why does] he [not] have a garden from which he may eat?’ And the wrongdoers say, ‘You are just following a bewitched man.’
9
ٱنظُرْ كَيْفَ ضَرَبُوا۟ لَكَ ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلَ فَضَلُّوا۟ فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ سَبِيلًا un-ẓur kayfa ḍarabū lakal-amthāla faḍallū falā yastaṭī`ūna sabīlā Look, how they coin epithets for you; so they go astray, and cannot find the way.
10
تَبَارَكَ ٱلَّذِىٓ إِن شَآءَ جَعَلَ لَكَ خَيْرًا مِّن ذَٰلِكَ جَنَّـٰتٍ تَجْرِى مِن تَحْتِهَا ٱلْأَنْهَـٰرُ وَيَجْعَل لَّكَ قُصُورًۢا tabārakal ladhī in shā-a ja`ala laka khayran min dhālika jannātin tajrī min taḥtihal-anhāru wayaj`al laka quṣūrā Blessed is He who will grant you better than that if He wishes—gardens with streams running in them, and He will make for you palaces.
11
بَلْ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِٱلسَّاعَةِ ۖ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِمَن كَذَّبَ بِٱلسَّاعَةِ سَعِيرًا bal kadhhabū bis sā`ah ۖ wa-a`tadnā liman kadhhaba bis sā`ati sa`īrā Indeed, they deny the Hour, and We have prepared a Blaze for those who deny the Hour.
12
إِذَا رَأَتْهُم مِّن مَّكَانٍۭ بَعِيدٍ سَمِعُوا۟ لَهَا تَغَيُّظًا وَزَفِيرًا idhā ra-at-hum min makānin ba`īdin sami`ū lahā taghayyuẓan wazafīrā When it sights them from a distant place, they will hear it raging and roaring.
13
وَإِذَآ أُلْقُوا۟ مِنْهَا مَكَانًا ضَيِّقًا مُّقَرَّنِينَ دَعَوْا۟ هُنَالِكَ ثُبُورًا wa idhā ulqū minhā makānan ḍayyiqan muqarranīna da`aw hunālika thubūrā And when they are cast into a narrow place in it, bound together [in chains], they will pray for [their own] annihilation.
14
لَّا تَدْعُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ ثُبُورًا وَٰحِدًا وَٱدْعُوا۟ ثُبُورًا كَثِيرًا lā tad`ul yawma thubūran wāḥidan wad`ū thubūran kathīrā [They will be told:] ‘Do not pray for a single annihilation today, but pray for many annihilations!’
15
قُلْ أَذَٰلِكَ خَيْرٌ أَمْ جَنَّةُ ٱلْخُلْدِ ٱلَّتِى وُعِدَ ٱلْمُتَّقُونَ ۚ كَانَتْ لَهُمْ جَزَآءً وَمَصِيرًا qul adhālika khayrun am jannatul khuldil latī wu`idal muttaqūn ۚ kānat lahum jazā-an wa maṣīrā Say, ‘Is that better, or the everlasting paradise promised to the Godwary, which will be their reward and destination?’
16
لَّهُمْ فِيهَا مَا يَشَآءُونَ خَـٰلِدِينَ ۚ كَانَ عَلَىٰ رَبِّكَ وَعْدًا مَّسْـُٔولًا lahum fīhā mā yashā-ūna khālidīn ۚ kāna `alā rabbika wa`dan mas-ūlā There they will have whatever they wish, abiding [forever]—a promise [much] besought, [binding] on your Lord.
17
وَيَوْمَ يَحْشُرُهُمْ وَمَا يَعْبُدُونَ مِن دُونِ ٱللَّهِ فَيَقُولُ ءَأَنتُمْ أَضْلَلْتُمْ عِبَادِى هَـٰٓؤُلَآءِ أَمْ هُمْ ضَلُّوا۟ ٱلسَّبِيلَ wayawma yaḥshuruhum wa mā ya`budūna min dūnillāhi fayaqūlu a-antum aḍlaltum `ibādī hā-ulā-i am hum ḍallus sabīl On the day that He will muster them and those whom they worship besides Allah, He will say, ‘Was it you who led astray these servants of Mine, or did they themselves stray from the way?’
18
قَالُوا۟ سُبْحَـٰنَكَ مَا كَانَ يَنۢبَغِى لَنَآ أَن نَّتَّخِذَ مِن دُونِكَ مِنْ أَوْلِيَآءَ وَلَـٰكِن مَّتَّعْتَهُمْ وَءَابَآءَهُمْ حَتَّىٰ نَسُوا۟ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَكَانُوا۟ قَوْمًۢا بُورًا qālū subḥānaka mā kāna yanbaghī lanā an nattakhidha min dūnika min awliyā-a walākin matta`tahum wa-ābā-ahum ḥattā nasudh dhikra wakānū qawman būrā They will say, ‘Immaculate are You! It does not behoove us to take any wali in Your stead! But You provided for them and their fathers until they forgot the Reminder, and they were a ruined lot.’
19
فَقَدْ كَذَّبُوكُم بِمَا تَقُولُونَ فَمَا تَسْتَطِيعُونَ صَرْفًا وَلَا نَصْرًا ۚ وَمَن يَظْلِم مِّنكُمْ نُذِقْهُ عَذَابًا كَبِيرًا faqad kadhhabūkum bimā taqūlūna famā tastaṭī`ūna ṣarfan walā naṣrā ۚ wa man yaẓlim minkum nudhiqhu `adhāban kabīrā So they will certainly impugn you in what you say, and you will neither be able to circumvent [punishment] nor find help, and whoever of you does wrong, We shall make him taste a terrible punishment.
20
وَمَآ أَرْسَلْنَا قَبْلَكَ مِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ إِلَّآ إِنَّهُمْ لَيَأْكُلُونَ ٱلطَّعَامَ وَيَمْشُونَ فِى ٱلْأَسْوَاقِ ۗ وَجَعَلْنَا بَعْضَكُمْ لِبَعْضٍ فِتْنَةً أَتَصْبِرُونَ ۗ وَكَانَ رَبُّكَ بَصِيرًا wa mā arsalnā qablaka minal mursalīna illā innahum laya-kulūnaṭ ṭa`āma wayamshūna fil-aswāq ۗ waja`alnā ba`ḍakum liba`ḍin fitnatan ataṣbirūn ۗ wakāna rabbuka baṣīrā We did not send any apostles before you but that they indeed ate food and walked in marketplaces. We have made you a [means of] test for one another, [to see] if you will be patient and steadfast, and your Lord is all-seeing.
21
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ لَا يَرْجُونَ لِقَآءَنَا لَوْلَآ أُنزِلَ عَلَيْنَا ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ أَوْ نَرَىٰ رَبَّنَا ۗ لَقَدِ ٱسْتَكْبَرُوا۟ فِىٓ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَعَتَوْ عُتُوًّا كَبِيرًا waqālal ladhīna lā yarjūna liqā-anā lawlā unzila `alaynal malā-ikatu aw narā rabbanā ۗ laqadis-takbarū fī anfusihim wa`ataw `utuwwan kabīrā Those who do not expect to encounter Us say, ‘Why have angels not been sent down to us, or why do we not see our Lord?’ Certainly, they are full of arrogance within their souls and have become terribly defiant.
22
يَوْمَ يَرَوْنَ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةَ لَا بُشْرَىٰ يَوْمَئِذٍ لِّلْمُجْرِمِينَ وَيَقُولُونَ حِجْرًا مَّحْجُورًا yawma yarawnal malā-ikata lā bushrā yawma-idhin lil-mujrimīna wayaqūlūna ḥijran maḥjūrā The day they will see the angels, there will be no good news for the guilty on that day, and they will say, ‘Keep off [from paradise]!’
23
وَقَدِمْنَآ إِلَىٰ مَا عَمِلُوا۟ مِنْ عَمَلٍ فَجَعَلْنَـٰهُ هَبَآءً مَّنثُورًا waqadimnā ilā mā `amilū min `amalin faja`alnāhu habā-an manthūrā Then We shall attend to the works they have done and then turn them into scattered dust.
24
أَصْحَـٰبُ ٱلْجَنَّةِ يَوْمَئِذٍ خَيْرٌ مُّسْتَقَرًّا وَأَحْسَنُ مَقِيلًا aṣ-ḥābul jannati yawma-idhin khayrun mustaqarran wa-aḥsanu maqīlā On that day the inhabitants of paradise will be in the best abode and an excellent resting place.
25
وَيَوْمَ تَشَقَّقُ ٱلسَّمَآءُ بِٱلْغَمَـٰمِ وَنُزِّلَ ٱلْمَلَـٰٓئِكَةُ تَنزِيلًا wayawma tashaqqaqus samā-u bil ghamāmi wanuzzilal-malā-ikatu tanzīlā The day when the sky with its clouds will be split open, and the angels will be sent down [in a majestic] descent,
26
ٱلْمُلْكُ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْحَقُّ لِلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ۚ وَكَانَ يَوْمًا عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ عَسِيرًا al-mulku yawma-idhinil-ḥaqqu lirraḥmān ۚ wakāna yawman `alal-kāfirīna `asīrā on that day true sovereignty will belong to the All-beneficent, and it will be a hard day for the faithless.
27
وَيَوْمَ يَعَضُّ ٱلظَّالِمُ عَلَىٰ يَدَيْهِ يَقُولُ يَـٰلَيْتَنِى ٱتَّخَذْتُ مَعَ ٱلرَّسُولِ سَبِيلًا wayawma ya`aḍḍuẓ ẓālimu `alā yadayhi yaqūlu yālaytanit-takhadhtu ma`ar rasūli sabīlā It will be a day when the wrongdoer will bite his hands, saying, ‘I wish I had followed the Apostle’s way!
28
يَـٰوَيْلَتَىٰ لَيْتَنِى لَمْ أَتَّخِذْ فُلَانًا خَلِيلًا yāwaylatā laytanī lam attakhidh fulānan khalīlā Woe to me! I wish I had not taken so and so as a friend!
29
لَّقَدْ أَضَلَّنِى عَنِ ٱلذِّكْرِ بَعْدَ إِذْ جَآءَنِى ۗ وَكَانَ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنُ لِلْإِنسَـٰنِ خَذُولًا laqad aḍallanī `anidh dhikri ba`da idh jā-anī ۗ wakānash shayṭānu lilinsāni khadhūlā Certainly he led me astray from the Reminder after it had come to me, and Satan is a deserter of man.’
30
وَقَالَ ٱلرَّسُولُ يَـٰرَبِّ إِنَّ قَوْمِى ٱتَّخَذُوا۟ هَـٰذَا ٱلْقُرْءَانَ مَهْجُورًا waqālar rasūlu yārabbi inna qawmit-takhadhū hādhal qur-āna mahjūrā And the Apostle will say, ‘O my Lord! Indeed my people consigned this Quran to oblivion.’
31
وَكَذَٰلِكَ جَعَلْنَا لِكُلِّ نَبِىٍّ عَدُوًّا مِّنَ ٱلْمُجْرِمِينَ ۗ وَكَفَىٰ بِرَبِّكَ هَادِيًا وَنَصِيرًا wakadhālika ja`alnā likulli nabiyyin `aduwwan minal mujrimīn ۗ wakafā birabbika hādiyan wanaṣīrā That is how for every prophet We assigned an enemy from among the guilty, and your Lord suffices as helper and guide.
32
وَقَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لَوْلَا نُزِّلَ عَلَيْهِ ٱلْقُرْءَانُ جُمْلَةً وَٰحِدَةً ۚ كَذَٰلِكَ لِنُثَبِّتَ بِهِۦ فُؤَادَكَ ۖ وَرَتَّلْنَـٰهُ تَرْتِيلًا waqālal ladhīna kafarū lawlā nuzzila `alayhil qur-ānu jumlatan wāḥidah ۚ kadhālika linuthabbita bihi fu-ādak ۖ warattalnāhu tartīlā The faithless say, ‘Why has not the Quran been sent down to him all at once?’ So it was, that We may strengthen your heart with it, and We have recited it [to you] in a measured tone.
33
وَلَا يَأْتُونَكَ بِمَثَلٍ إِلَّا جِئْنَـٰكَ بِٱلْحَقِّ وَأَحْسَنَ تَفْسِيرًا walā ya-tūnaka bimathalin illā ji-nāka bil ḥaqqi wa-aḥsana tafsīrā They do not bring you any representation but that We bring you the truth [in reply to them] and the best exposition.
34
ٱلَّذِينَ يُحْشَرُونَ عَلَىٰ وُجُوهِهِمْ إِلَىٰ جَهَنَّمَ أُو۟لَـٰٓئِكَ شَرٌّ مَّكَانًا وَأَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا alladhīna yuḥsharūna `alā wujūhihim ilā jahannama ulā-ika sharrun makānan wa-aḍallu sabīlā Those who will be mustered [fallen] on their faces toward hell, they are the worse situated and further astray from the [right] way.
35
وَلَقَدْ ءَاتَيْنَا مُوسَى ٱلْكِتَـٰبَ وَجَعَلْنَا مَعَهُۥٓ أَخَاهُ هَـٰرُونَ وَزِيرًا walaqad ātaynā mūsal kitāba waja`alnā ma`ahu akhāhu hārūna wazīrā Certainly We gave Moses the Book and We made Aaron, his brother, accompany him as a minister.
36
فَقُلْنَا ٱذْهَبَآ إِلَى ٱلْقَوْمِ ٱلَّذِينَ كَذَّبُوا۟ بِـَٔايَـٰتِنَا فَدَمَّرْنَـٰهُمْ تَدْمِيرًا faqulnadh-habā ilal-qawmil ladhīna kadhhabū bi-āyātinā fadammarnāhum tadmīrā Then We said, ‘Let the two of you go to the people who have denied Our signs.’ Then We destroyed them utterly.
37
وَقَوْمَ نُوحٍ لَّمَّا كَذَّبُوا۟ ٱلرُّسُلَ أَغْرَقْنَـٰهُمْ وَجَعَلْنَـٰهُمْ لِلنَّاسِ ءَايَةً ۖ وَأَعْتَدْنَا لِلظَّـٰلِمِينَ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا waqawma nūḥin lammā kadhhabur rusula aghraqnāhum waja`alnāhum linnāsi āyah ۖ wa-a`tadnā liẓẓālimīna `adhāban alīmā And Noah’s people, We drowned them when they impugned the apostles, and We made them a sign for mankind, and We have prepared for the wrongdoers a painful punishment.
38
وَعَادًا وَثَمُودَا۟ وَأَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلرَّسِّ وَقُرُونًۢا بَيْنَ ذَٰلِكَ كَثِيرًا wa`ādan wathamūda wa-aṣ-ḥābar rassi waqurūnan bayna dhālika kathīrā And ‘Ad and Thamud, and the people of Rass, and many generations between them.
39
وَكُلًّا ضَرَبْنَا لَهُ ٱلْأَمْثَـٰلَ ۖ وَكُلًّا تَبَّرْنَا تَتْبِيرًا wakullan ḍarabnā lahul-amthāl ۖ wakullan tabbarnā tatbīrā For each of them We drew examples, and each We destroyed utterly.
40
وَلَقَدْ أَتَوْا۟ عَلَى ٱلْقَرْيَةِ ٱلَّتِىٓ أُمْطِرَتْ مَطَرَ ٱلسَّوْءِ ۚ أَفَلَمْ يَكُونُوا۟ يَرَوْنَهَا ۚ بَلْ كَانُوا۟ لَا يَرْجُونَ نُشُورًا walaqad ataw `alal-qaryatil latī umṭirat maṭaras saw-i ۚ afalam yakūnū yarawnahā ۚ bal kānū lā yarjūna nushūrā Certainly they must have passed the town on which an evil shower was rained. Have they not seen it? Rather, they did not expect resurrection [to happen].
41
وَإِذَا رَأَوْكَ إِن يَتَّخِذُونَكَ إِلَّا هُزُوًا أَهَـٰذَا ٱلَّذِى بَعَثَ ٱللَّهُ رَسُولًا wa idhā ra-awka in yattakhidhūnaka illā huzuwan ahādhal ladhī ba`athallāhu rasūlā When they see you they just take you in derision: ‘Is this the one whom Allah has sent as an apostle!?
42
إِن كَادَ لَيُضِلُّنَا عَنْ ءَالِهَتِنَا لَوْلَآ أَن صَبَرْنَا عَلَيْهَا ۚ وَسَوْفَ يَعْلَمُونَ حِينَ يَرَوْنَ ٱلْعَذَابَ مَنْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا in kāda layuḍillunā `an ālihatinā lawlā an ṣabarnā `alayhā ۚ wasawfa ya`lamūna ḥīna yarawnal `adhāba man aḍallu sabīlā Indeed he was about to lead us astray from our gods, had we not stood firm by them.’ Soon they will know, when they sight the punishment, who is further astray from the [right] way.
43
أَرَءَيْتَ مَنِ ٱتَّخَذَ إِلَـٰهَهُۥ هَوَىٰهُ أَفَأَنتَ تَكُونُ عَلَيْهِ وَكِيلًا ara ayta manit-takhadha ilāhahu hawāhu afa-anta takūnu `alayhi wakīlā Have you seen him who has taken his desire to be his god? Is it your duty to watch over him?
44
أَمْ تَحْسَبُ أَنَّ أَكْثَرَهُمْ يَسْمَعُونَ أَوْ يَعْقِلُونَ ۚ إِنْ هُمْ إِلَّا كَٱلْأَنْعَـٰمِ ۖ بَلْ هُمْ أَضَلُّ سَبِيلًا am taḥsabu anna aktharahum yasma`ūna aw ya`qilūn ۚ in hum illā kal-an`ām ۖ bal hum aḍallu sabīlā Do you suppose that most of them listen or exercise their reason? They are just like cattle; indeed, they are further astray from the way.
45
أَلَمْ تَرَ إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ كَيْفَ مَدَّ ٱلظِّلَّ وَلَوْ شَآءَ لَجَعَلَهُۥ سَاكِنًا ثُمَّ جَعَلْنَا ٱلشَّمْسَ عَلَيْهِ دَلِيلًا alam tara ilā rabbika kayfa maddaẓ ẓilla walaw shā-a laja`alahu sākinan thumma ja`alnash shamsa `alayhi dalīlā Have you not regarded how your Lord spreads the twilight? (Had He wished He would have made it stand still.) Then We made the sun a beacon for it.
46
ثُمَّ قَبَضْنَـٰهُ إِلَيْنَا قَبْضًا يَسِيرًا thumma qabaḍnāhu ilaynā qabḍan yasīrā Then We retract it toward Ourselves, with a gentle retracting.
47
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِى جَعَلَ لَكُمُ ٱلَّيْلَ لِبَاسًا وَٱلنَّوْمَ سُبَاتًا وَجَعَلَ ٱلنَّهَارَ نُشُورًا wahuwal ladhī ja`ala lakumul layla libāsan wan nawma subātan waja`alan nahāra nushūrā It is He who made for you the night as a covering and sleep for rest and He made the day a recall to life.
48
وَهُوَ ٱلَّذِىٓ أَرْسَلَ ٱلرِّيَـٰحَ بُشْرًۢا بَيْنَ يَدَىْ رَحْمَتِهِۦ ۚ وَأَنزَلْنَا مِنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ مَآءً طَهُورًا wahuwal ladhī arsalar riyāḥa bushran bayna yaday raḥmatih ۚ wa-anzalnā minas samā-i mā-an ṭahūrā And it is He who sends the winds as harbingers of His mercy, and We send down from the sky purifying water,
49
لِّنُحْـِۧىَ بِهِۦ بَلْدَةً مَّيْتًا وَنُسْقِيَهُۥ مِمَّا خَلَقْنَآ أَنْعَـٰمًا وَأَنَاسِىَّ كَثِيرًا linuḥ-yiya bihi baldatan maytan wanusqiyahu mimmā khalaqnā an`āman wa-anāsiyya kathīrā with which We revive a dead country and provide water to many of the cattle and humans We have created.
50
وَلَقَدْ صَرَّفْنَـٰهُ بَيْنَهُمْ لِيَذَّكَّرُوا۟ فَأَبَىٰٓ أَكْثَرُ ٱلنَّاسِ إِلَّا كُفُورًا walaqad ṣarrafnāhu baynahum liyadhhakkarū fa-abā aktharun nāsi illā kufūrā Certainly We distribute it among them so that they may take admonition. But most people are only intent on ingratitude.
51
