يسٓ yā sīn Ya Seen!
2
وَٱلْقُرْءَانِ ٱلْحَكِيمِ wal qur-ānil ḥakīm By the Wise Quran,
3
إِنَّكَ لَمِنَ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ innaka laminal mursalīn you are indeed one of the apostles,
4
عَلَىٰ صِرَٰطٍ مُّسْتَقِيمٍ `alā ṣirāṭin mustaqīm on a straight path.
5
تَنزِيلَ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ tanzīlal-`azīzir raḥīm [It is a scripture] sent down gradually from the All-mighty, the All-merciful
6
لِتُنذِرَ قَوْمًا مَّآ أُنذِرَ ءَابَآؤُهُمْ فَهُمْ غَـٰفِلُونَ litundhira qawman mā undhira ābā-uhum fahum ghāfilūn that you may warn a people whose fathers were not warned, so they are oblivious.
7
لَقَدْ حَقَّ ٱلْقَوْلُ عَلَىٰٓ أَكْثَرِهِمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ laqad ḥaqqal qawlu `alā aktharihim fahum lā yu-minūn The word has certainly become due against most of them, so they will not have faith.
8
إِنَّا جَعَلْنَا فِىٓ أَعْنَـٰقِهِمْ أَغْلَـٰلًا فَهِىَ إِلَى ٱلْأَذْقَانِ فَهُم مُّقْمَحُونَ innā ja`alnā fī a`nāqihim aghlālan fahiya ilal-adhqāni fahum muqmaḥūn Indeed We have put iron collars around their necks, which are up to the chins, so their heads are upturned.
9
وَجَعَلْنَا مِنۢ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيهِمْ سَدًّا وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِمْ سَدًّا فَأَغْشَيْنَـٰهُمْ فَهُمْ لَا يُبْصِرُونَ waja`alnā min bayni aydīhim saddan wa min khalfihim saddan fa-aghshaynāhum fahum lā yubṣirūn And We have put a barrier before them and a barrier behind them, then We have blind-folded them, so they do not see.
10
وَسَوَآءٌ عَلَيْهِمْ ءَأَنذَرْتَهُمْ أَمْ لَمْ تُنذِرْهُمْ لَا يُؤْمِنُونَ wasawā-un `alayhim a-andhartahum am lam tundhirhum lā yu-minūn It is the same to them whether you warn them or do not warn them, they will not have faith.
11
إِنَّمَا تُنذِرُ مَنِ ٱتَّبَعَ ٱلذِّكْرَ وَخَشِىَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنَ بِٱلْغَيْبِ ۖ فَبَشِّرْهُ بِمَغْفِرَةٍ وَأَجْرٍ كَرِيمٍ innamā tundhiru manit-taba`adh dhikra wakhashiyar raḥmāna bil ghayb ۖ fabashhirhu bimaghfiratin wa-ajrin karīm You can only warn someone who follows the Reminder and fears the All-beneficent in secret; so give him the good news of forgiveness and a noble reward.
12
إِنَّا نَحْنُ نُحْىِ ٱلْمَوْتَىٰ وَنَكْتُبُ مَا قَدَّمُوا۟ وَءَاثَـٰرَهُمْ ۚ وَكُلَّ شَىْءٍ أَحْصَيْنَـٰهُ فِىٓ إِمَامٍ مُّبِينٍ innā naḥnu nuḥyil mawtā wanaktubu mā qaddamū wa-āthārahum ۚ wakulla shay-in aḥṣaynāhu fī imāmin mubīn Indeed it is We who revive the dead and write what they have sent ahead and their effects [which they left behind], and We have figured everything in a manifest Imam.
13
وَٱضْرِبْ لَهُم مَّثَلًا أَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلْقَرْيَةِ إِذْ جَآءَهَا ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ waḍrib lahum mathalan aṣ-ḥābal qaryati idh jā-ahal mursalūn Cite for them the example of the inhabitants of the town when the apostles came to it.
14
إِذْ أَرْسَلْنَآ إِلَيْهِمُ ٱثْنَيْنِ فَكَذَّبُوهُمَا فَعَزَّزْنَا بِثَالِثٍ فَقَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّآ إِلَيْكُم مُّرْسَلُونَ idh arsalnā ilayhimuth-nayni fakadhhabūhumā fa`azzaznā bithālithin faqālū innā ilaykum mursalūn When We sent to them two [apostles], they impugned both of them. Then We reinforced them with a third, and they said, ‘We have indeed been sent to you.’
15
قَالُوا۟ مَآ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا بَشَرٌ مِّثْلُنَا وَمَآ أَنزَلَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ مِن شَىْءٍ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا تَكْذِبُونَ qālū mā antum illā basharun mithlunā wa mā anzalar raḥmānu min shay-in in antum illā takdhibūn They said, ‘You are no other than human beings like us, and the All-beneficent has not sent down anything, and you are only lying.’
16
قَالُوا۟ رَبُّنَا يَعْلَمُ إِنَّآ إِلَيْكُمْ لَمُرْسَلُونَ qālū rabbunā ya`lamu innā ilaykum lamursalūn They said, ‘Our Lord knows that we have indeed been sent to you,
17
وَمَا عَلَيْنَآ إِلَّا ٱلْبَلَـٰغُ ٱلْمُبِينُ wa mā `alaynā illal-balāghul mubīn and our duty is only to communicate in clear terms.’
18
قَالُوٓا۟ إِنَّا تَطَيَّرْنَا بِكُمْ ۖ لَئِن لَّمْ تَنتَهُوا۟ لَنَرْجُمَنَّكُمْ وَلَيَمَسَّنَّكُم مِّنَّا عَذَابٌ أَلِيمٌ qālū innā taṭayyarnā bikum ۖ la-in lam tantahū lanarjumannakum walayamassannakum minnā `adhābun alīm They said, ‘Indeed we take you for a bad omen. If you do not desist we will stone you, and surely a painful punishment will visit you from us.’
19
قَالُوا۟ طَـٰٓئِرُكُم مَّعَكُمْ ۚ أَئِن ذُكِّرْتُم ۚ بَلْ أَنتُمْ قَوْمٌ مُّسْرِفُونَ qālū ṭā-irukum ma`akum ۚ a-in dhukkirtum ۚ bal antum qawmun musrifūn They said, ‘Your bad omens attend you. What! If you are admonished.... Indeed, you are an unrestrained lot.’
20
وَجَآءَ مِنْ أَقْصَا ٱلْمَدِينَةِ رَجُلٌ يَسْعَىٰ قَالَ يَـٰقَوْمِ ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ ٱلْمُرْسَلِينَ wajā-a min aqṣal madīnati rajulun yas`ā qāla yāqawmit-tabi`ul mursalīn There came a man hurrying from the city outskirts. He said, ‘O my people! Follow the apostles!
21
ٱتَّبِعُوا۟ مَن لَّا يَسْـَٔلُكُمْ أَجْرًا وَهُم مُّهْتَدُونَ ittabi`ū man lā yas-alukum ajran wahum muhtadūn Follow them who do not ask you any reward and they are rightly guided.
22
وَمَا لِىَ لَآ أَعْبُدُ ٱلَّذِى فَطَرَنِى وَإِلَيْهِ تُرْجَعُونَ wa mā liya lā a`budul ladhī faṭaranī wa ilayhi turja`ūn Why should I not worship Him who has originated me, and to whom you shall be brought back?
23
ءَأَتَّخِذُ مِن دُونِهِۦٓ ءَالِهَةً إِن يُرِدْنِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ بِضُرٍّ لَّا تُغْنِ عَنِّى شَفَـٰعَتُهُمْ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا يُنقِذُونِ a-attakhidhu min dūnihi ālihatan in yuridnir raḥmānu biḍurrin lā tughni `annī shafā`atuhum shay-an walā yunqidhūn Shall I take gods besides Him? If the All-beneficent desired to cause me any distress, their intercession will not avail me in any way, nor will they rescue me.
24
إِنِّىٓ إِذًا لَّفِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ innī idhal lafī ḍalālin mubīn Indeed, then I would be in manifest error.
25
إِنِّىٓ ءَامَنتُ بِرَبِّكُمْ فَٱسْمَعُونِ innī āmantu birabbikum fasma`ūn Indeed I have faith in your Lord, so listen to me.’
26
قِيلَ ٱدْخُلِ ٱلْجَنَّةَ ۖ قَالَ يَـٰلَيْتَ قَوْمِى يَعْلَمُونَ qīlad-khulil jannah ۖ qāla yālayta qawmī ya`lamūn He was told, ‘Enter paradise!’ He said, ‘Alas! Had my people only known
27
بِمَا غَفَرَ لِى رَبِّى وَجَعَلَنِى مِنَ ٱلْمُكْرَمِينَ bimā ghafara lī rabbī waja`alanī minal mukramīn for what my Lord forgave me and made me one of the honoured ones!’
28
وَمَآ أَنزَلْنَا عَلَىٰ قَوْمِهِۦ مِنۢ بَعْدِهِۦ مِن جُندٍ مِّنَ ٱلسَّمَآءِ وَمَا كُنَّا مُنزِلِينَ wa mā anzalnā `alā qawmihi min ba`dihi min jundin minas samā-i wa mā kunnā munzilīn After him We did not send down on his people a host from the sky, nor We would have sent down.
29
إِن كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ خَـٰمِدُونَ in kānat illā ṣayḥatan wāḥidatan fa-idhā hum khāmidūn It was but a single Cry, and, behold, they were stilled [like burnt ashes]!
30
يَـٰحَسْرَةً عَلَى ٱلْعِبَادِ ۚ مَا يَأْتِيهِم مِّن رَّسُولٍ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ بِهِۦ يَسْتَهْزِءُونَ yāḥasratan `alal-`ibād ۚ mā ya-tīhim min rasūlin illā kānū bihi yastahzi-ūn How regrettable of the servants! There did not come to them any apostle but that they used to deride him.
31
أَلَمْ يَرَوْا۟ كَمْ أَهْلَكْنَا قَبْلَهُم مِّنَ ٱلْقُرُونِ أَنَّهُمْ إِلَيْهِمْ لَا يَرْجِعُونَ alam yaraw kam ahlaknā qablahum minal qurūni annahum ilayhim lā yarji`ūn Have they not regarded how many generations We have destroyed before them who will not come back to them?
32
وَإِن كُلٌّ لَّمَّا جَمِيعٌ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ wa in kullul lammā jamī`ul ladaynā muḥḍarūn And all of them will indeed be presented before Us.
33
وَءَايَةٌ لَّهُمُ ٱلْأَرْضُ ٱلْمَيْتَةُ أَحْيَيْنَـٰهَا وَأَخْرَجْنَا مِنْهَا حَبًّا فَمِنْهُ يَأْكُلُونَ wa-āyatun lahumul-arḍul maytatu aḥyaynāhā wa-akhrajnā minhā ḥabban faminhu ya-kulūn A sign for them is the dead earth, which We revive and bring forth grain out of it, so they eat of it.
34
وَجَعَلْنَا فِيهَا جَنَّـٰتٍ مِّن نَّخِيلٍ وَأَعْنَـٰبٍ وَفَجَّرْنَا فِيهَا مِنَ ٱلْعُيُونِ waja`alnā fīhā jannātin min nakhīlin wa-a`nābin wafajjarnā fīhā minal `uyūn We make in it orchards of date palms and vines, and We cause springs to gush forth in it,
35
لِيَأْكُلُوا۟ مِن ثَمَرِهِۦ وَمَا عَمِلَتْهُ أَيْدِيهِمْ ۖ أَفَلَا يَشْكُرُونَ liya-kulū min thamarihi wa mā `amilat-hu aydīhim ۖ afalā yashkurūn so that they may eat of its fruit and what their hands have cultivated. Will they not then give thanks?
36
سُبْحَـٰنَ ٱلَّذِى خَلَقَ ٱلْأَزْوَٰجَ كُلَّهَا مِمَّا تُنۢبِتُ ٱلْأَرْضُ وَمِنْ أَنفُسِهِمْ وَمِمَّا لَا يَعْلَمُونَ subḥānal ladhī khalaqal-azwāja kullahā mimmā tunbitul-arḍu wa min anfusihim wa mimmā lā ya`lamūn Immaculate is He who has created all the kinds of what the earth grows, and of themselves, and of what they do not know.
37
وَءَايَةٌ لَّهُمُ ٱلَّيْلُ نَسْلَخُ مِنْهُ ٱلنَّهَارَ فَإِذَا هُم مُّظْلِمُونَ wa-āyatun lahumul laylu naslakhu minhun nahāra fa-idhā hum muẓlimūn A sign for them is the night, which We strip of daylight, and, behold, they find themselves in the dark!
38
وَٱلشَّمْسُ تَجْرِى لِمُسْتَقَرٍّ لَّهَا ۚ ذَٰلِكَ تَقْدِيرُ ٱلْعَزِيزِ ٱلْعَلِيمِ wash shamsu tajrī limustaqarrin lahā ۚ dhālika taqdīrul `azīzil `alīm The sun runs on to its place of rest: That is the ordaining of the All-mighty, the All-knowing.
39
وَٱلْقَمَرَ قَدَّرْنَـٰهُ مَنَازِلَ حَتَّىٰ عَادَ كَٱلْعُرْجُونِ ٱلْقَدِيمِ wal qamara qaddarnāhu manāzila ḥattā `āda kal `urjūnil qadīm As for the moon, We have ordained its phases, until it becomes like an old palm leaf.
40
لَا ٱلشَّمْسُ يَنۢبَغِى لَهَآ أَن تُدْرِكَ ٱلْقَمَرَ وَلَا ٱلَّيْلُ سَابِقُ ٱلنَّهَارِ ۚ وَكُلٌّ فِى فَلَكٍ يَسْبَحُونَ lash shamsu yanbaghī lahā an tudrikal qamara walal laylu sābiqun nahār ۚ wakullun fī falakiy yasbaḥūn Neither it behooves the sun to overtake the moon, nor may the night outrun the day, and each swims in an orbit.
41
وَءَايَةٌ لَّهُمْ أَنَّا حَمَلْنَا ذُرِّيَّتَهُمْ فِى ٱلْفُلْكِ ٱلْمَشْحُونِ wa-āyatun lahum annā ḥamalnā dhurriyyatahum fil fulkil mashḥūn A sign for them is that We carried their progeny in the laden ship,
42
وَخَلَقْنَا لَهُم مِّن مِّثْلِهِۦ مَا يَرْكَبُونَ wakhalaqnā lahum min mithlihi mā yarkabūn and We have created for them what is similar to it, which they ride.
43
وَإِن نَّشَأْ نُغْرِقْهُمْ فَلَا صَرِيخَ لَهُمْ وَلَا هُمْ يُنقَذُونَ wa in nasha-nughriqhum falā ṣarīkha lahum walā hum yunqadhūn And if We like We drown them, whereat they have no one to call for help, nor are they rescued
44
إِلَّا رَحْمَةً مِّنَّا وَمَتَـٰعًا إِلَىٰ حِينٍ illā raḥmatan minnā wa matā`an ilā ḥīn except by a mercy from Us and for an enjoyment until some time.
45
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمُ ٱتَّقُوا۟ مَا بَيْنَ أَيْدِيكُمْ وَمَا خَلْفَكُمْ لَعَلَّكُمْ تُرْحَمُونَ wa idhā qīla lahumut-taqū mā bayna aydīkum wa mā khalfakum la`allakum turḥamūn And when they are told, ‘Beware of that which is before you and that which is behind you, so that you may receive [His] mercy…’
46
وَمَا تَأْتِيهِم مِّنْ ءَايَةٍ مِّنْ ءَايَـٰتِ رَبِّهِمْ إِلَّا كَانُوا۟ عَنْهَا مُعْرِضِينَ wa mā ta-tīhim min āyatim min āyāti rabbihim illā kānū `anhā mu`riḍīn There does not come to them any sign from among the signs of their Lord but that they have been disregarding it.
47
وَإِذَا قِيلَ لَهُمْ أَنفِقُوا۟ مِمَّا رَزَقَكُمُ ٱللَّهُ قَالَ ٱلَّذِينَ كَفَرُوا۟ لِلَّذِينَ ءَامَنُوٓا۟ أَنُطْعِمُ مَن لَّوْ يَشَآءُ ٱللَّهُ أَطْعَمَهُۥٓ إِنْ أَنتُمْ إِلَّا فِى ضَلَـٰلٍ مُّبِينٍ wa idhā qīla lahum anfiqū mimmā razaqakumullāhu qālal ladhīna kafarū lilladhīna āmanū anuṭ`imu man law yashā-ullāhu aṭ`amahu in antum illā fī ḍalālin mubīn When they are told, ‘Spend out of what Allah has provided you,’ the faithless say to the faithful, ‘Shall we feed [someone] whom Allah would feed, if He wished? You are only in manifest error.’
48
وَيَقُولُونَ مَتَىٰ هَـٰذَا ٱلْوَعْدُ إِن كُنتُمْ صَـٰدِقِينَ wayaqūlūna matā hādhal wa`du in kuntum ṣādiqīn And they say, ‘When will this promise be fulfilled, should you be truthful?’
49
مَا يَنظُرُونَ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً تَأْخُذُهُمْ وَهُمْ يَخِصِّمُونَ mā yanẓurūna illā ṣayḥatan wāḥidatan ta-khudhuhum wahum yakhiṣṣimūn They do not await but a single Cry that will seize them as they wrangle.
50
فَلَا يَسْتَطِيعُونَ تَوْصِيَةً وَلَآ إِلَىٰٓ أَهْلِهِمْ يَرْجِعُونَ falā yastaṭī`ūna tawṣiyatan walā ilā ahlihim yarji`ūn Then they will not be able to make any will, nor will they return to their folks.
51
وَنُفِخَ فِى ٱلصُّورِ فَإِذَا هُم مِّنَ ٱلْأَجْدَاثِ إِلَىٰ رَبِّهِمْ يَنسِلُونَ wanufikha fiṣ ṣūri fa-idhā hum minal-ajdāthi ilā rabbihim yansilūn And when the Trumpet is blown, behold, there they will be, scrambling towards their Lord from their graves!
52
قَالُوا۟ يَـٰوَيْلَنَا مَنۢ بَعَثَنَا مِن مَّرْقَدِنَا ۜ ۗ هَـٰذَا مَا وَعَدَ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنُ وَصَدَقَ ٱلْمُرْسَلُونَ qālū yāwaylanā man ba`athanā min marqadinā ۜ ۗ hādhā mā wa`adar raḥmānu waṣadaqal mursalūn They will say, ‘Woe to us! Who raised us from our place of sleep?’ ‘This is what the All-beneficent had promised, and the apostles had spoken the truth!’
53
إِن كَانَتْ إِلَّا صَيْحَةً وَٰحِدَةً فَإِذَا هُمْ جَمِيعٌ لَّدَيْنَا مُحْضَرُونَ in kānat illā ṣayḥatan wāḥidatan fa-idhā hum jamī`ul ladaynā muḥḍarūn It will be but a single Cry, and, behold, they will all be presented before Us!
54
فَٱلْيَوْمَ لَا تُظْلَمُ نَفْسٌ شَيْـًٔا وَلَا تُجْزَوْنَ إِلَّا مَا كُنتُمْ تَعْمَلُونَ fal yawma lā tuẓlamu nafsun shay-an walā tujzawna illā mā kuntum ta`malūn ‘Today no soul will be wronged in the least, nor will you be requited except for what you used to do.’
55
إِنَّ أَصْحَـٰبَ ٱلْجَنَّةِ ٱلْيَوْمَ فِى شُغُلٍ فَـٰكِهُونَ inna aṣ-ḥābal jannatil yawma fī shughulin fākihūn Indeed today the inhabitants of paradise rejoice in their engagements
56
هُمْ وَأَزْوَٰجُهُمْ فِى ظِلَـٰلٍ عَلَى ٱلْأَرَآئِكِ مُتَّكِـُٔونَ hum wa-azwājuhum fī ẓilālin `alal-arā-iki muttaki-ūn —they and their mates, reclining on couches in the shades.
57
لَهُمْ فِيهَا فَـٰكِهَةٌ وَلَهُم مَّا يَدَّعُونَ lahum fīhā fākihatun walahum mā yadda`ūn There they have fruits, and they have whatever they want.
58
سَلَـٰمٌ قَوْلًا مِّن رَّبٍّ رَّحِيمٍ salāmun qawlan min rabbin raḥīm ‘Peace!’—a watchword from the all-merciful Lord.
59
وَٱمْتَـٰزُوا۟ ٱلْيَوْمَ أَيُّهَا ٱلْمُجْرِمُونَ wamtāzul yawma ayyuhal mujrimūn And ‘Get apart today, you guilty ones!’
60
أَلَمْ أَعْهَدْ إِلَيْكُمْ يَـٰبَنِىٓ ءَادَمَ أَن لَّا تَعْبُدُوا۟ ٱلشَّيْطَـٰنَ ۖ إِنَّهُۥ لَكُمْ عَدُوٌّ مُّبِينٌ alam a`had ilaykum yābanī ādama an lā ta`budush shayṭān ۖ innahu lakum `aduwwun mubīn ‘Did I not exhort you, O children of Adam, saying, “Do not worship Satan. He is indeed your manifest enemy.
61
وَأَنِ ٱعْبُدُونِى ۚ هَـٰذَا صِرَٰطٌ مُّسْتَقِيمٌ wa-ani'-budūnī ۚ hādhā ṣirāṭun mustaqīm Worship Me. That is a straight path”?
62
وَلَقَدْ أَضَلَّ مِنكُمْ جِبِلًّا كَثِيرًا ۖ أَفَلَمْ تَكُونُوا۟ تَعْقِلُونَ walaqad aḍalla minkum jibillan kathīrā ۖ afalam takūnū ta`qilūn Certainly, he has led astray many of your generations. Have you not exercised your reason?
63
هَـٰذِهِۦ جَهَنَّمُ ٱلَّتِى كُنتُمْ تُوعَدُونَ hādhihi jahannamul latī kuntum tū`adūn This is the hell you had been promised!
64
ٱصْلَوْهَا ٱلْيَوْمَ بِمَا كُنتُمْ تَكْفُرُونَ iṣ-lawhal yawma bimā kuntum takfurūn Enter it today, because of what you used to deny.
65
ٱلْيَوْمَ نَخْتِمُ عَلَىٰٓ أَفْوَٰهِهِمْ وَتُكَلِّمُنَآ أَيْدِيهِمْ وَتَشْهَدُ أَرْجُلُهُم بِمَا كَانُوا۟ يَكْسِبُونَ al yawma nakhtimu `alā afwāhihim watukallimunā aydīhim watash-hadu arjuluhum bimā kānū yaksibūn Today We shall seal their mouths, and their hands shall speak to Us, and their feet shall bear witness concerning what they used to earn.’
66
وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَطَمَسْنَا عَلَىٰٓ أَعْيُنِهِمْ فَٱسْتَبَقُوا۟ ٱلصِّرَٰطَ فَأَنَّىٰ يُبْصِرُونَ walaw nashā-u laṭamasnā `alā a`yunihim fastabaquṣ ṣirāṭa fa-annā yubṣirūn Had We wished We would have blotted out their eyes: then, were they to advance towards the path, how would have they seen?
67
وَلَوْ نَشَآءُ لَمَسَخْنَـٰهُمْ عَلَىٰ مَكَانَتِهِمْ فَمَا ٱسْتَطَـٰعُوا۟ مُضِيًّا وَلَا يَرْجِعُونَ walaw nashā-u lamasakhnāhum `alā makānatihim famas-taṭā`ū muḍiyyan walā yarji`ūn And had We wished We would have deformed them in their place; then they would neither have been able to move ahead nor to return.
68
وَمَن نُّعَمِّرْهُ نُنَكِّسْهُ فِى ٱلْخَلْقِ ۖ أَفَلَا يَعْقِلُونَ wa man nu`ammirhu nunakkis-hu fil khalq ۖ afalā ya`qilūn And whomever We give a long life, We cause him to regress in creation. Then, will they not exercise their reason?
69
وَمَا عَلَّمْنَـٰهُ ٱلشِّعْرَ وَمَا يَنۢبَغِى لَهُۥٓ ۚ إِنْ هُوَ إِلَّا ذِكْرٌ وَقُرْءَانٌ مُّبِينٌ wa mā `allamnāhush shi`ra wa mā yanbaghī lah ۚ in huwa illā dhikrun waqur-ānun mubīn We did not teach him poetry, nor does it behoove him. This is just a reminder and a manifest Quran,
70
لِّيُنذِرَ مَن كَانَ حَيًّا وَيَحِقَّ ٱلْقَوْلُ عَلَى ٱلْكَـٰفِرِينَ liyundhira man kāna ḥayyan wayaḥiqqal qawlu `alal-kāfirīn so that anyone who is alive may be warned, and that the word may come due against the faithless.
71
