بِسْمِ ٱللَّهِ ٱلرَّحْمَـٰنِ ٱلرَّحِيمِ bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm In the Name of Allah, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.

أَلَمْ تَرَ كَيْفَ فَعَلَ رَبُّكَ بِأَصْحَـٰبِ ٱلْفِيلِ alam tara kayfa fa`ala rabbuka bi-aṣ-ḥābil fīl Have you not regarded how your Lord dealt with the army of the elephants?

أَلَمْ يَجْعَلْ كَيْدَهُمْ فِى تَضْلِيلٍ alam yaj`al kaydahum fī taḍlīl Did He not make their stratagems go awry,
3
وَأَرْسَلَ عَلَيْهِمْ طَيْرًا أَبَابِيلَ wa-arsala `alayhim ṭayran abābīl and send against them flocks of birds
4
تَرْمِيهِم بِحِجَارَةٍ مِّن سِجِّيلٍ tarmīhim biḥijāratim min sijjīl pelting them with stones of shale,
5
فَجَعَلَهُمْ كَعَصْفٍ مَّأْكُولٍۭ faja`alahum ka`aṣfin ma-kūl thus making them like chewed-up straw?
