11
كَلَّا لَا وَزَرَ kallā lā wazar Never so, for there will be no escape.
12
إِلَىٰ رَبِّكَ يَوْمَئِذٍ ٱلْمُسْتَقَرُّ ilā rabbika yawma-idhinil-mustaqarr With your Lord alone will be the retreat on that day.
13

15
وَلَوْ أَلْقَىٰ مَعَاذِيرَهُۥ walaw alqā ma`ādhīrah Whatever the excuses he may offer.
16
لَا تُحَرِّكْ بِهِۦ لِسَانَكَ لِتَعْجَلَ بِهِۦٓ lā tuḥarrik bihi lisānaka lita`jala bih Do not forestall (the revelation before its completion) by acting in haste.
17
إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا جَمْعَهُۥ وَقُرْءَانَهُۥ inna `alaynā jam`ahu waqur-ānah Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility.
18
فَإِذَا قَرَأْنَـٰهُ فَٱتَّبِعْ قُرْءَانَهُۥ fa-idhā qara-nāhu fattabi` qur-ānah So, as We recite it, follow its reading.
19
ثُمَّ إِنَّ عَلَيْنَا بَيَانَهُۥ thumma inna `alaynā bayānah The exposition of its meaning surely rests on Us.
20
كَلَّا بَلْ تُحِبُّونَ ٱلْعَاجِلَةَ kallā bal tuḥibbūnal `ājilah But no. You love this transient life,
21

22
وُجُوهٌ يَوْمَئِذٍ نَّاضِرَةٌ wujūhun yawma-idhin nāḍirah How many faces will be refulgent on that Day,

26
كَلَّآ إِذَا بَلَغَتِ ٱلتَّرَاقِىَ kallā idhā balaghatit tarāqiy Never so, for when life withdraws into the clavicula,
27
وَقِيلَ مَنْ ۜ رَاقٍ waqīla man ۜ rāq And it is asked: "Is there any reciter of charms and amulets?"
28
وَظَنَّ أَنَّهُ ٱلْفِرَاقُ waẓanna annahul firāq He will then realise it is the parting,
29
وَٱلْتَفَّتِ ٱلسَّاقُ بِٱلسَّاقِ wal taffatis sāqu bis sāq And anguish will be heaped upon anguish:
