بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
اِلٰهِيْ وَقَفَ السَّائِلُوْنَ بِبَابِكَ
ilāhī waqafas sā-ilūna bibābik
My God, the seekers have stopped at Your door
2
وَلَاذَ الْفُقَرَاءُ بِجَنَابِكَ
walādhal fuqarā-u bijanābik
And the poor have sought refuge in Your presence
3
وَوَقَفَتْ سَفِيْنَةُ الْمَسَاكِيْنِ عَلَى سَاحِلِ
wawaqafat safīnatul masākīni `alā sāḥil
And the ship of the destitute has anchored on the shore
4
بَحْرِ جُوْدِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ
baḥri jūdika wakaramik
Of the sea of Your generosity and nobility
5
يَرْجُوْنَ الْجَوَازَ إِلَى سَاحَةِ رَحْمَتِكَ وَنِعْمَتِكَ
yar-jūnal jawāza ilā sāḥati raḥmatika wani`matik
Hoping to cross over to the realm of Your mercy and blessings
6
إِلٰهِيْ إِنْ كُنْتَ لَا تَرْحَمُ فِيْ هٰذَا الشَّهْرِ الشَّرِيْفِ
ilāhī in kunta lā tar-ḥamu fī hādhash shahrish sharīf
My God, if in this noble month You only show mercy
7
إِلَّا لِمَنْ اَخْلَصَ لَكَ فِيْ صِيَامِهِ وَقِيَامِهِ
illā liman akhlaṣa laka fī ṣiyāmihi waqiyāmih
To those who are sincere to You in their fasting and prayers
8
فَمَنْ لِلْمُذْنِبِ الْمُقَصِّرِ
faman lilmudhnibil muqaṣṣir
Then who is there for the sinful and negligent one
9
إِذَا غَرِقَ فِيْ بَحْرِ ذُنُوْبِهِ وَ آثَامِهِ
idhā ghariqa fī baḥri dhunūbihi wa āthāmih
When he drowns in the sea of his sins and wrongdoings
10
إِلٰهِيْ إِنْ كُنْتَ لَا تَرْحَمُ إِلَّا المُطِيْعِيْنَ فَمَنْ لِلْعَاصِيْنَ
ilāhī in kunta lā tar-ḥamu illal muṭī`īna faman lil`āṣīn
My God, if You only show mercy to the obedient, then who is there for the disobedient
11
وَإِنْ كُنْتَ لَا تَقْبَلُ إِلَّا مِنَ الْعَامِلِيْنَ، فَمَنْ لِلْمُقَصِّرِيْنَ
wa-in kunta lā taqbalu illā minal `āmilīn, faman lilmuqaṣṣirīn
And if You only accept from those who do good deeds, then who is there for the negligent ones
12
إِلٰهِيْ رَبِحَ الصَّائِمُوْنَ وَفَازَ الْقَائِمُوْنَ
ilāhī rabiḥaṣ ṣā-imūna wafāzal qā-imūn
My God, the fasting ones have profited, and the praying ones have succeeded
13
وَنَجَى الْمُخْلِصُوْنَ، وَنَحْنُ عَبِيْدُكَ الْمُذْنِبُوْنَ
wanajal mukhliṣūn, wanaḥnu `abīdukal mudhnibūn
And the sincere ones have been saved, while we are Your sinful servants
14
فَارْحَمْنَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَاَعْتِقْنَا مِنَ النَّارِ بِعَفْوِكَ يَا كَرِيْمُ
far-ḥamnā biraḥmatika wa-a`tiqnā minan nāri bi`afwika yā karīm
So have mercy on us through Your mercy and free us from the Fire through Your pardon, O Generous One
15
يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
O Most Merciful of those who show mercy
16
وَصَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ
waṣallallāhu `alā muḥammadiw wa-ālihiṭ ṭāhirīn
And may Allah send blessings upon Muhammad and his pure family
