بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the Name of Allāh, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O' Allāh send Your blessings on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.
1
اِلٰهِيْ وَقَفَ السَّائِلُوْنَ بِبَابِكَ
ilāhī waqafas sā-ilūna bibābik
My God, the beggars are standing at Your door,
2
وَلَاذَ الْفُقَرَاءُ بِجَنَابِكَ
walādhal fuqarā-u bijanābik
the needy have taken refuge with Your Honor.
3
وَوَقَفَتْ سَفِيْنَةُ الْمَسَاكِيْنِ عَلَى سَاحِلِ
wawaqafat safīnatul masākīni `alā sāḥil
The ship carrying the poor and humble people, is standing at the shores of the sea ,
4
بَحْرِ جُوْدِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ
baḥri jūdika wakaramik
of Your generosity and grace,
5
يَرْجُوْنَ الْجَوَازَ إِلَى سَاحَةِ رَحْمَتِكَ وَنِعْمَتِكَ
yar-jūnal jawāza ilā sāḥati raḥmatika wani`matik
hoping for permission to cross, to the shores of Your mercy and blessings.
6
إِلٰهِيْ إِنْ كُنْتَ لَا تَرْحَمُ فِيْ هٰذَا الشَّهْرِ الشَّرِيْفِ
ilāhī in kunta lā tar-ḥamu fī hādhash shahrish sharīf
My God, if You do not forgive, in this honored month,
7
إِلَّا لِمَنْ اَخْلَصَ لَكَ فِيْ صِيَامِهِ وَقِيَامِهِ
illā liman akhlaṣa laka fī ṣiyāmihi waqiyāmih
except the one who has sincerely purified himself for You, in his fasting and prayers,
8
فَمَنْ لِلْمُذْنِبِ الْمُقَصِّرِ
faman lilmudhnibil muqaṣṣir
then who is there for the negligent sinner,
9
إِذَا غَرِقَ فِيْ بَحْرِ ذُنُوْبِهِ وَ آثَامِهِ
idhā ghariqa fī baḥri dhunūbihi wa āthāmih
when he drowns in the sea of his sins?
10
إِلٰهِيْ إِنْ كُنْتَ لَا تَرْحَمُ إِلَّا المُطِيْعِيْنَ فَمَنْ لِلْعَاصِيْنَ
ilāhī in kunta lā tar-ḥamu illal muṭī`īna faman lil`āṣīn
My God, if You do not have mercy on any, except the obedient, then who is there for the disobedient?
11
وَإِنْ كُنْتَ لَا تَقْبَلُ إِلَّا مِنَ الْعَامِلِيْنَ، فَمَنْ لِلْمُقَصِّرِيْنَ
wa-in kunta lā taqbalu illā minal `āmilīn, faman lilmuqaṣṣirīn
And if You do not accept from any, except the performers of [good] actions, then who is there for those who fall short?
12
إِلٰهِيْ رَبِحَ الصَّائِمُوْنَ وَفَازَ الْقَائِمُوْنَ
ilāhī rabiḥaṣ ṣā-imūna wafāzal qā-imūn
My God, those who fast have profited, those who stay up in prayer have won,
13
وَنَجَى الْمُخْلِصُوْنَ، وَنَحْنُ عَبِيْدُكَ الْمُذْنِبُوْنَ
wanajal mukhliṣūn, wanaḥnu `abīdukal mudhnibūn
and those who are sincere have succeeded, but we are Your sinful servants!
14
فَارْحَمْنَا بِرَحْمَتِكَ وَاَعْتِقْنَا مِنَ النَّارِ بِعَفْوِكَ يَا كَرِيْمُ
far-ḥamnā biraḥmatika wa-a`tiqnā minan nāri bi`afwika yā karīm
So be kind to us through Your mercy, and save us from the fire through Your forgiveness, O Gracious
15
يَا اَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
O most merciful.
16
وَصَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَّ آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ
waṣallallāhu `alā muḥammadiw wa-ālihiṭ ṭāhirīn
O Allah, bless Muhammad and his family, the purified ones.
