اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى آدَمَ صَفْوَةِ اللَّهِ مِنْ خَلِيقَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā-ādama ṣafwatillāhi min khalīqatih
Peace be upon Adam, the chosen one of Allah from His creation

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى شِيثٍ وَلِيِّ اللَّهِ وَخِيَرَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā shīthin waliyyillāhi wakhiyaratih
Peace be upon Seth, the guardian of Allah and His chosen one
3
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى إِدْرِيسَ الْقَائِمِ لِلّٰهِ بِحُجَّتِهِ
as salāmu `alā idrīsal qā-imi lillāhi biḥujjatih
Peace be upon Idris, who stood firm for Allah with His proof
4
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى نُوحٍ الْمُجَابِ فِي دَعْوَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā nūḥinil mujābi fī da`watih
Peace be upon Noah, whose prayer was answered
5
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى هُودٍ الْمَمْدُودِ مِنَ اللَّهِ بِمَعُونَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā hūdinil mamdūdi minallāhi bima`ūnatih
Peace be upon Hud, who was supported by Allah with His assistance

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى صَالِحٍ الَّذِيْ تَوَجَّهَ لِلّٰهِ بِكَرَامَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā ṣāliḥinil ladhī tawajjaha lillāhi bikarāmatih
Peace be upon Salih, who turned to Allah with His honor

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى إِبْرَاهِيمَ الَّذِيْ حَبَاهُ اللَّهُ بِخُلَّتِهِ
as salāmu `alā ibrāhīmal ladhī ḥabāhullāhu bikhullatih
Peace be upon Abraham, whom Allah blessed with His friendship

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى إِسْمَاعِيلَ الَّذِيْ فَدَاهُ اللَّهُ بِذِبْحٍ عَظِيمٍ مِنْ جَنَّتِهِ
as salāmu `alā ismā`īlal ladhī fadāhullāhu bidhibḥin `aẓīmin min jannatih
Peace be upon Ishmael, whom Allah ransomed with a great sacrifice from His paradise

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى إِسْحَاقَ الَّذِيْ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ النُّبُوَّةَ فِي ذُرِّيَّتِهِ
as salāmu `alā is-ḥāqal ladhī ja`alallāhun nubuwwata fī dhurriyyatih
Peace be upon Isaac, in whose progeny Allah placed prophethood

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى يَعْقُوبَ الَّذِيْ رَدَّ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ بَصَرَهُ بِرَحْمَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā ya`qūbal ladhī raddallāhu `alayhi baṣarahu biraḥmatih
Peace be upon Jacob, to whom Allah restored his sight through His mercy
11
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى يُوسُفَ الَّذِيْ نَجَّاهُ اللَّهُ مِنَ الْجُبِّ بِعَظَمَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā yūsufal ladhī najjāhullāhu minal jubbi bi`aẓamatih
Peace be upon Joseph, whom Allah saved from the well by His greatness

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مُوسَى الَّذِيْ فَلَقَ اللَّهُ الْبَحْرَ لَهُ بِقُدْرَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā mūsal ladhī falaqallāhul baḥra lahu biqudratih
Peace be upon Moses, for whom Allah parted the sea by His power
13
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى هَارُونَ الَّذِيْ خَصَّهُ اللَّهُ بِنُبُوَّتِهِ
as salāmu `alā hārūnal ladhī khaṣṣahullāhu binubuwwatih
Peace be upon Aaron, whom Allah distinguished with His prophethood

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى شُعَيْبٍ الَّذِيْ نَصَرَهُ اللَّهُ عَلَى أُمَّتِهِ
as salāmu `alā shu`aybinil ladhī naṣarahullāhu `alā ummatih
Peace be upon Shuaib, whom Allah helped against his people
15
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى دَاوُدَ الَّذِيْ تَابَ اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ مِنْ خَطِيئَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā dāwudal ladhī tāballāhu `alayhi min khaṭī-atih
Peace be upon David, to whom Allah granted repentance for his error
16
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى سُلَيْمَانَ الَّذِيْ ذُلَّتْ لَهُ الجِنُّ بِعِزَّتِهِ
as salāmu `alā sulaymānal ladhī dhullat lahul jinnu bi`izzatih
Peace be upon Solomon, to whom the jinn were subjugated by His might
17
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى أَيُّوبَ الَّذِيْ شَفَاهُ اللَّهُ مِنْ عِلَّتِهِ
as salāmu `alā ayyūbal ladhī shafāhullāhu min `illatih
Peace be upon Job, whom Allah cured from his illness
18
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى يُونُسَ الَّذِيْ أَنْجَزَ اللَّهُ لَهُ مَضْمُونَ عِدَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā yūnusal ladhī anjazallāhu lahu maḍmūna `idatih
Peace be upon Jonah, for whom Allah fulfilled His promised word
19
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى عُزَيْرٍ الَّذِيْ أَحْيَاهُ اللَّهُ بَعْدَ مَوْتَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā `uzayrinil ladhī aḥyāhullāhu ba`da mawtatih
Peace be upon Ezra, whom Allah brought back to life after his death

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى زَكَرِيَّا الصَّابِرِ فِي مِحْنَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā zakariyyaṣ ṣābiri fī miḥnatih
Peace be upon Zechariah, the patient one in his trial
21
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى يَحْيَى الَّذِيْ أَزْلَفَهُ اللَّهُ بِشَهَادَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā yaḥyal ladhī azlafahullāhu bishahādatih
Peace be upon John, whom Allah honored with martyrdom

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى عِيسَى رُوحِ اللَّهِ وَكَلِمَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā `īsā rūḥillāhi wakalimatih
Peace be upon Jesus, the spirit of Allah and His word
23
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ حَبِيبِ اللَّهِ وَصَفْوَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā muḥammadin ḥabībillāhi waṣafwatih
Peace be upon Muhammad, the beloved of Allah and His chosen one
24
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ عَلِيِّ بْنِ أَبِي طَالِبٍ الْمَخْصُوصِ بِأُخُوَّتِهِ
as salāmu `alā amīril mu-minīna `aliyyibni abī ṭālibinil makhṣūṣi bi-ukhuwwatih
Peace be upon the Commander of the Faithful, Ali ibn Abi Talib, who was honored with brotherhood

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى فَاطِمَةَ الزَّهْرَاءِ ابْنَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā fāṭimataz zahrā-ibnatih
Peace be upon Fatima al-Zahra, his daughter

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى أَبِي مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَسَنِ وَصِيِّ أَبِيهِ وَخَلِيفَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā abī muḥammadinil ḥasani waṣiyyi abīhi wakhalīfatih
Peace be upon Abu Muhammad al-Hasan, the successor of his father and his caliph

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ الَّذِيْ سَمَحَتْ نَفْسُهُ بِمُهْجَتِهِ
as salāmu `alal ḥusaynil ladhī samaḥat nafsuhu bimuhjatih
Peace be upon Husayn, who sacrificed his life willingly

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ أَطَاعَ اللَّهَ فِي سِرِّهِ وَعَلَانِيَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā man aṭā`allāha fī sirrihi wa`alāniyatih
Peace be upon the one who obeyed Allah in private and in public

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ جَعَلَ اللَّهُ الشِّفَاءَ فِي تُرْبَتِهِ
as salāmu `alā man ja`alallāhush shifā-a fī tur-batih
Peace be upon the one in whose soil Allah placed healing
30
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنِ الْإِجَابَةُ تَحْتَ قُبَّتِهِ
as salāmu `alā manil ijābatu taḥta qubbatih
Peace be upon the one under whose dome prayers are answered
31
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْأَئِمَّةِ مِنْ ذُرِّيَّتِهِ
as salāmu `alal a-immati min dhurriyyatih
Peace be upon the Imams from his progeny
32
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى ابْنِ خَاتَمِ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ
as salāmu `alabni khātamil anbiyā
Peace be upon the son of the Seal of the Prophets

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى ابْنِ سَيِّدِ الْأَوْصِيَاءِ
as salāmu `alabni sayyidil awṣiyā

as salāmu `alan nāziḥīna `anil awṭān
Peace be upon those displaced from their homelands

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمَدْفُونِينَ بِلَا أَكْفَانِ
as salāmu `alal madfūnīna bilā akfān
Peace be upon those buried without shrouds

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الرُّؤُوْسِ الْمُفَرَّقَةِ عَنِ الْأَبْدَانِ
as salāmu `alar ru-ūsil mufarraqati `anil abdān
Peace be upon the heads separated from their bodies

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمُحْتَسِبِ الصَّابِرِ
as salāmu `alal muḥtasibiṣ ṣābir
Peace be upon the patient one who expected reward

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمَظْلُومِ بِلَا نَاصِرٍ
as salāmu `alal maẓlūmi bilā nāṣir
Peace be upon the oppressed one without any helper

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى سَاكِنِ التُّرْبَةِ الزَّاكِيَةِ
as salāmu `alā sākinit tur-batiz zākiyah
Peace be upon the dweller of the pure soil

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى صَاحِبِ الْقُبَّةِ السَّامِيَةِ
as salāmu `alā ṣāḥibil qubbatis sāmiyah
Peace be upon the owner of the lofty dome

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ طَهَّرَهُ الْجَلِيلُ
as salāmu `alā man ṭahharahul jalīl
Peace be upon the one whom the Glorious purified

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنِ افْتَخَرَ بِهِ جَبْرَائِيلُ
as salāmu `alā maniftakhara bihi jabrā-īl
Peace be upon the one whom Gabriel honored

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ نَاغَاهُ فِي الْمَهْدِ مِيكَائِيلُ
as salāmu `alā man nāghāhu fil mahdi mīkā-īl
Peace be upon the one to whom Michael spoke in the cradle

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ نُكِثَتْ ذِمَّتُهُ
as salāmu `alā man nukithat dhimmatuh
Peace be upon the one whose covenant was broken
84
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ هُتِكَتْ حُرْمَتُهُ
as salāmu `alā man hutikat ḥur-matuh
Peace be upon the one whose sanctity was violated

اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ أُرِيقَ بِالظُّلْمِ دَمُهُ
as salāmu `alā man urīqa biẓ ẓulmi damuh
Peace be upon the one whose blood was unjustly shed
86
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمُغَسَّلِ بِدَمِ الْجِرَاحِ
as salāmu `alal mughassali bidamil jirāḥ
Peace be upon the one washed with the blood of wounds
87
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمُجَرَّعِ بِكَأْسَاتِ الرِّمَاحِ
as salāmu `alal mujarra`i bika-sātir rimāḥ
Peace be upon the one made to drink from the cups of spears
88
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمُضَامِ الْمُسْتَبَاحِ
as salāmu `alal muḍāmil mustabāḥ
Peace be upon the wronged one whose sanctuary was violated
89
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمَنْحُورِ فِي الْوَرَى
as salāmu `alal manḥūri fil warā
Peace be upon the one slaughtered among the people
90
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى مَنْ دَفَنَهُ أَهْلُ الْقُرَى
as salāmu `alā man dafanahu ahlul qurā
Peace be upon the one whom the people of the villages buried
91
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمَقْطُوعِ الْوَتِينِ
as salāmu `alal maqṭū`il watīn
Peace be upon the one whose jugular vein was cut
92
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْمُحَامِي بِلَا مُعِينٍ
as salāmu `alal muḥāmī bilā mu`īn
Peace be upon the one who defended without any helper
93
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الشَّيْبِ الْخَضِيبِ
as salāmu `alash shaybil khaḍīb
Peace be upon the one with dyed gray hair
94
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْخَدِّ التَّرِيبِ
as salāmu `alal khaddit tarīb
Peace be upon the dust-covered cheek
95
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْبَدَنِ السَّلِيبِ
as salāmu `alal badanis salīb
Peace be upon the plundered body
96
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الثَّغْرِ الْمَقْرُوعِ بِالْقَضِيبِ
as salāmu `alath thaghril maqrū`i bil qaḍīb
Peace be upon the front teeth struck with a stick
97
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الرَّأْسِ الْمَرْفُوعِ
as salāmu `alar ra-sil mar-fū`
Peace be upon the raised head
98
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْأَجْسَامِ الْعَارِيَةِ فِي الْفَلَوَاتِ
as salāmu `alal ajsāmil `āriyati fil falawāt
Peace be upon the naked bodies in the deserts
99
تَنْهَشُهَا الذِّئَابُ الْعَادِيَاتُ
tanhashuhadh dhi-ābul `ādiyāt
Which the aggressive wolves devour
100
وَتَخْتَلِفُ إِلَيْهَا السِّبَاعُ الضَّارِيَاتُ
watakhtalifu ilayhas sibā`uḍ ḍāriyāt
And to which the predatory beasts come and go
101
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَوْلَايَ وَعَلَى الْمَلَائِكَةِ الْمَرْفُوفِينَ حَوْلَ قُبَّتِكَ
as salāmu `alayka yā mawlāya wa`alal malā-ikatil mar-fūfīna ḥawla qubbatik
Peace be upon you, my master, and upon the angels hovering around your dome

اَلْحَافِّينَ بِتُرْبَتِكَ
al ḥāffīna bitur-batik
Those surrounding your soil
103
اَلطَّائِفِينَ بِعَرْصَتِكَ
aṭ ṭā-ifīna bi`ar-ṣatik
Those circling your courtyard
104
اَلْوَارِدِينَ لِزِيَارَتِكَ
al wāridīna liziyāratik
Those coming to visit you
105
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ فَإِنِّي قَصَدْتُ إِلَيْكَ
as salāmu `alayka fa-innī qaṣadtu ilayk
Peace be upon you, for I have turned to you
106
وَرَجَوْتُ الْفَوْزَ لَدَيْكَ
warajawtul fawza ladayk
And I hope for success with you
107
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ سَلَامُ الْعَارِفِ بِحُرْمَتِكَ
as salāmu `alayka salāmul `ārifi biḥur-matik
Peace be upon you, the peace of one who recognizes your sanctity

اَلْمُخْلِصِ فِي وِلَايَتِكَ
al mukhliṣi fī wilāyatik
Who is sincere in your guardianship
109
اَلْمُتَقَرِّبِ إِلَى اللَّهِ بِمَحَبَّتِكَ
al mutaqarribi ilallāhi bimaḥabbatik
Who seeks nearness to Allah through love for you
110
اَلْبَرِيءِ مِنْ أَعْدَائِكَ
al barī-i min a`dā-ik
Who disassociates from your enemies
111
سَلَامُ مَنْ قَلْبُهُ بِمُصَابِكَ مَقْرُوحٌ
salāmu man qalbuhu bimuṣābika maqrūḥ
Peace from one whose heart is wounded by your tragedy
112
وَدَمْعُهُ عِنْدَ ذِكْرِكَ مَسْفُوحٌ
wadam`uhu `inda dhikrika masfūḥ
Whose tears flow at your remembrance
113
سَلَامُ الْمَفْجُوْعِ الْحَزِينِ
salāmul mafjū`il ḥazīn
Peace of the grief-stricken, sorrowful one
114
اَلْوَالِهِ الْمُسْتَكِينِ
al wālihil mustakīn
The distressed, the humble one
115
سَلَامُ مَنْ لَوْ كَانَ مَعَكَ بِالطُّفُوفِ لَوَقَاكَ بِنَفْسِهِ حَدَّ السُّيُوفِ
salāmu man law kāna ma`aka biṭ ṭufūfi lawaqāka binafsihi ḥaddas suyūf
Peace from one who, had he been with you at Taff, would have shielded you from the edge of swords
116
وَبَذَلَ حَشَاشَتَهُ دُونَكَ لِلْحُتُوفِ
wabadhala ḥashāshatahu dūnaka lilḥutūf
And would have sacrificed his life for you against death
117
وَجَاهَدَ بَيْنَ يَدَيْكَ
wajāhada bayna yadayk
And would have fought before you
118
وَنَصَرَكَ عَلَى مَنْ بَغَى عَلَيْكَ
wanaṣaraka `alā man baghā `alayk
And would have supported you against those who rebelled against you
119
وَفَدَاكَ بِرُوحِهِ وَجَسَدِهِ
wafadāka birūḥihi wajasadih
And would have ransomed you with his soul and body
120
وَمَالِهِ وَوَلَدِهِ
wamālihi wawaladih
And his wealth and children
121
وَرُوحُهُ لِرُوحِكَ فِدَاءٌ
warūḥuhu lirūḥika fidā
His spirit a ransom for your spirit
122
وَأَهْلُهُ لِأَهْلِكَ وِقَاءٌ
wa-ahluhu li-ahlika wiqā
His family a shield for your family
123
فَلَئِنْ أَخَّرَتْنِي الدُّهُورُ
fala-in akhharatnid duhūr
But if time delayed me
124
وَعَاقَنِي عَنْ نَصْرِكَ الْمَقْدُورُ
wa`āqanī `an naṣrikal maqdūr
And destiny prevented me from helping you
125
وَلَمْ أَكُنْ لِمَنْ حَارَبَكَ مُحَارِبًا
walam akun liman ḥārabaka muḥāribā
And I was not among those who fought your enemies
126
وَلِمَنْ نَصَبَ لَكَ الْعَدَاوَةَ مُنَاصِبًا
waliman naṣaba lakal `adāwata munāṣibā
Nor among those who declared enmity against you
127
فَلَأَنْدُبَنَّكَ صَبَاحًا وَمَسَاءً
fala-andubannaka ṣabāḥan wamasā-ā
Then I will surely mourn you morning and evening
128
وَلَأَبْكِيَنَّ لَكَ بَدَلَ الدُّمُوعِ دَمًا
wala-abkiyanna laka badalad dumū`i damā
And I will surely weep blood for you instead of tears
129
حَسْرَةً عَلَيْكَ
ḥasratan `alayk
In grief for you
130
وَتَأَسُّفًا عَلَى مَا دَهَاكَ وَتَلَهُّفًا
wata-assufan `alā mā dahāka watalahhufā
And in regret for what befell you and in anguish
131
حَتَّى أَمُوتَ بِلَوْعَةِ الْمُصَابِ
ḥattā amūta bilaw`atil muṣāb
Until I die of the pain of this tragedy
132
وَغُصَّةِ الِاكْتِئَابِ
waghuṣṣatil ikti-āb
And the agony of distress
133
أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ قَدْ أَقَمْتَ الصَّلَاةَ
ash-hadu annaka qad aqamtaṣ ṣalāh
I bear witness that you established prayer
134
وَ آتَيْتَ الزَّكَاةَ
wa ātaytaz zakāh
And gave the zakat
135
وَأَمَرْتَ بِالْمَعْرُوفِ
wa-amar-ta bil ma`rūf
And enjoined the good
136
وَنَهَيْتَ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ
wanahayta `anil munkari wal`udwān
And forbade the evil and transgression
137
وَأَطَعْتَ اللّٰهَ وَمَا عَصَيْتَهُ
wa-aṭa`tallāha wamā `aṣaytah
And obeyed Allah and never disobeyed Him
138
وَتَمَسَّكْتَ بِهِ وَبِحَبْلِهِ
watamassakta bihi wabiḥablih
And held fast to Him and to His rope
139
فَأَرْضَيْتَهُ وَخَشِيتَهُ
fa-ar-ḍaytahu wakhashītah
So you pleased Him and feared Him
140
وَرَاقَبْتَهُ وَاسْتَجَبْتَهُ
warāqabtahu wastajabtah
And were vigilant of Him and responded to Him
141
وَسَنَنْتَ السُّنَنَ
wasanantas sunan
And established the traditions
142
وَأَطْفَأْتَ الْفِتَنَ
wa-aṭfa-tal fitan
And extinguished the tribulations
143
وَدَعَوْتَ إِلَى الرَّشَادِ
wada`awta ilar rashād
And called to guidance
144
وَأَوْضَحْتَ سُبُلَ السَّدَادِ
wa-awḍaḥta subulas sadād
And made clear the paths of righteousness
145
وَجَاهَدْتَ فِي اللَّهِ حَقَّ الْجِهَادِ
wajāhadta fillāhi ḥaqqal jihād
And strove in the way of Allah with true striving
146
وَكُنْتَ لِلّٰهِ طَائِعًا
wakunta lillāhi ṭā-i`ā
And you were obedient to Allah
147
وَلِجَدِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ تَابِعًا
walijaddika muḥammadin tābi`ā
And a follower of your grandfather Muhammad
148
وَلِقَوْلِ أَبِيكَ سَامِعًا
waliqawli abīka sāmi`ā
And a listener to the words of your father
149
وَإِلَى وَصِيَّةِ أَخِيكَ مُسَارِعًا
wa-ilā waṣiyyati akhīka musāri`ā
And quick to fulfill the will of your brother
150
وَلِعِمَادِ الدِّينِ رَافِعًا
wali`imādid dīni rāfi`ā
And an upholder of the pillars of religion

وَلِلطُّغْيَانِ قَامِعًا
waliṭṭughyāni qāmi`ā
And a suppressor of tyranny
152
وَلِلطُّغَاةِ مُقَارِعًا
waliṭṭughāti muqāri`ā
And a confronter of tyrants
153
وَلِلْأُمَّةِ نَاصِحًا
walil-ummati nāṣiḥā
And an advisor to the nation
154
وَفِي غَمَرَاتِ الْمَوْتِ سَابِحًا
wafī ghamarātil mawti sābiḥā
And one who plunged into the throes of death
155
وَلِلْفُسَّاقِ مُكَافِحًا
walilfussāqi mukāfiḥā
And a combatant against the immoral
156
وَبِحُجَجِ اللَّهِ قَائِمًا
wabiḥujajillāhi qā-imā
And one who established the proofs of Allah
157
وَلِلْإِسْلَامِ وَالْمُسْلِمِينَ رَاحِمًا
walil-islāmi walmuslimīna rāḥimā
And one who was merciful to Islam and Muslims
158
وَلِلْحَقِّ نَاصِرًا
walilḥaqqi nāṣirā
And a supporter of truth

وَعِنْدَ الْبَلَاءِ صَابِرًا
wa`indal balā-i ṣābirā
And patient in adversity
160
وَلِلدِّينِ كَالِئًا
waliddīni kāli-ā
And a protector of religion
161
وَعَنْ حَوْزَتِهِ مُرَامِيًا
wa`an ḥawzatihi murāmiyā
And a defender of its territory
162
تَحُوطُ الْهُدَى وَتَنْصُرُهُ
taḥūṭul hudā watanṣuruh
You safeguarded guidance and supported it
163
وَتَبْسُطُ الْعَدْلَ وَتَنْشُرُهُ
watabsuṭul `adla watanshuruh
You spread justice and propagated it
164
وَتَنْصُرُ الدِّينَ وَتُظْهِرُهُ
watanṣurud dīna watuẓhiruh
You helped religion and made it prevail
165
وَتَكُفُّ الْعَابِثَ وَتَزْجُرُهُ
watakufful `ābitha watazjuruh
You restrained the wrongdoer and rebuked him
166
وَتَأْخُذُ لِلدَّنِيِّ مِنَ الشَّرِيفِ
wata-khudhu liddaniyyi minash sharīf
You took from the lowly the rights owed by the noble
167
وَتُسَاوِي فِي الْحُكْمِ بَيْنَ الْقَوِيِّ وَالضَّعِيفِ
watusāwī fil ḥukmi baynal qawiyyi waḍ ḍa`īf
And you established equality in judgment between the strong and the weak
168
كُنْتَ رَبِيعَ الْأَيْتَامِ
kunta rabī`al aytām
You were the spring of orphans
169
وَعِصْمَةَ الْأَنَامِ
wa`iṣmatal anām
And the protection of mankind
170
وَعِزَّ الْإِسْلَامِ
wa`izzal islām
And the honor of Islam
171
وَمَعْدِنَ الْأَحْكَامِ
wama`dinal aḥkām
And the mine of judgments
172
وَحَلِيفَ الْإِنْعَامِ
waḥalīfal in`ām
And the ally of blessings
173
سَالِكًا طَرَائِقَ جَدِّكَ وَأَبِيكَ
sālikan ṭarā-iqa jaddika wa-abīk
Following the ways of your grandfather and your father
174
مُشَبِّهًا فِي الْوَصِيَّةِ لِأَخِيكَ
mushabbihan fil waṣiyyati li-akhīk
Resembling your brother in succession
175
وَفِيَّ الذِّمَمِ
wafiyyadh dhimam
Faithful to covenants
176
رَضِيَّ الشِّيَمِ
raḍiyyash shiyam
Of pleasing character
177
ظَاهِرَ الْكَرَمِ
ẓāhiral karam
Of manifest generosity
178
مُتَهَجِّدًا فِي الظُّلَمِ
mutahajjidan fiẓ ẓulam
Vigilant in the darkness
179
قَوِيمَ الطَّرَائِقِ
qawīmaṭ ṭarā-iq
Of upright ways
180
كَرِيمَ الْخَلَائِقِ
karīmal khalā-iq
Of noble character
181
عَظِيمَ السَّوَابِقِ
`aẓīmas sawābiq
Of great precedents
182
شَرِيفَ النَّسَبِ
sharīfan nasab
Of noble lineage
183
مُنِيفَ الْحَسَبِ
munīfal ḥasab
Of exalted rank
184
رَفِيعَ الرُّتَبِ
rafī`ar rutab
Of high position
185
كَثِيرَ الْمَنَاقِبِ
kathīral manāqib
Of numerous virtues
186
مَحْمُودَ الضَّرَائِبِ
maḥmūdaḍ ḍarā-ib
Of praiseworthy qualities
187
جَزِيلَ الْمَوَاهِبِ
jazīlal mawāhib
Of abundant gifts

rashīd
Rightly guided

عَلِيمٌ
`alīm
Knowledgeable

كُنْتَ لِلرَّسُولِ وَلَدًا
kunta lirrasūli waladā
You were to the Messenger a son
201
وَلِلْقُرْآنِ سَنَدًا
walilqur-āni sanadā
And to the Quran a support
202
وَلِلْأُمَّةِ عَضُدًا
walil-ummati `aḍudā
And to the nation a pillar
203
وَفِي الطَّاعَةِ مُجْتَهِدًا
wafiṭ ṭā`ati mujtahidā
And in obedience, diligent
204
حَافِظًا لِلْعَهْدِ وَالْمِيثَاقِ
ḥāfiẓan lil`ahdi walmīthāq
Keeper of the covenant and pledge
205
نَاكِبًا عَنْ سُبُلِ الْفُسَّاقِ
nākiban `an subulil fussāq
Avoiding the paths of the wicked
206
وَبَاذِلًا لِلْمَجْهُودِ
wabādhilan lilmajhūd
Giving your utmost effort
207
طَوِيلَ الرُّكُوعِ وَالسُّجُودِ
ṭawīlar rukū`i was sujūd
Long in bowing and prostration
208
زَاهِدًا فِي الدُّنْيَا زُهْدَ الرَّاحِلِ عَنْهَا
zāhidan fid dunyā zuhdar rāḥili `anhā
Abstaining from the world like one departing from it
209
نَاظِرًا إِلَيْهَا بِعَيْنِ الْمُسْتَوْحِشِينَ مِنْهَا
nāẓiran ilayhā bi`aynil mustawḥishīna minhā
Looking at it with the eye of one who dreads it
210
آمَالُكَ عَنْهَا مَكْفُوفَةٌ
āmāluka `anhā makfūfah
Your hopes from it were restrained
211
وَهِمَّتُكَ عَنْ زِينَتِهَا مَصْرُوفَةٌ
wahimmatuka `an zīnatihā maṣrūfah
And your ambition was turned away from its adornments
212
وَأَلْحَاظُكَ عَنْ بَهْجَتِهَا مَطْرُوفَةٌ
wa-alḥāẓuka `an bahjatihā maṭrūfah
And your gaze was averted from its splendor
213
وَرَغْبَتُكَ فِي الْآخِرَةِ مَعْرُوفَةٌ
waraghbatuka fil-ākhirati ma`rūfah
And your desire for the Hereafter was well-known
214
حَتَّى إِذَا الْجَوْرُ مَدَّ بَاعَهُ
ḥattā idhal jawru madda bā`ah
Until tyranny extended its arm
215
وَأَسْفَرَ الظُّلْمُ قِنَاعَهُ
wa-asfaraẓ ẓulmu qinā`ah
And oppression removed its veil
216
وَدَعَا الْغَيُّ أَتْبَاعَهُ
wada`al ghayyu atbā`ah
And misguidance called its followers
217
وَأَنْتَ فِي حَرَمِ جَدِّكَ قَاطِنٌ
wa-anta fī ḥarami jaddika qāṭin
While you were dwelling in the sanctuary of your grandfather
218
وَلِلظَّالِمِينَ مُبَايِنٌ
waliẓẓālimīna mubāyin
Keeping away from the oppressors
219
جَلِيسُ الْبَيْتِ وَالْمِحْرَابِ
jalīsul bayti walmiḥrāb
A companion of the house and the prayer niche
220
مُعْتَزِلٌ عَنِ اللَّذَّاتِ وَالشَّهَوَاتِ
mu`tazilun `anil ladhhāti wash shahawāt
Withdrawing from pleasures and desires
221
تُنْكِرُ الْمُنْكَرَ بِقَلْبِكَ وَلِسَانِكَ
tunkirul munkara biqalbika walisānik
Rejecting evil with your heart and tongue
222
عَلَى حَسَبِ طَاقَتِكَ وَإِمْكَانِكَ
`alā ḥasabi ṭāqatika wa-imkānik
According to your capacity and ability
223
ثُمَّ اقْتَضَاكَ الْعِلْمُ لِلْإِنْكَارِ
thummaqtaḍākal `ilmu lil-inkār
Then knowledge required you to denounce
224
وَلَزِمَكَ أَنْ تُجَاهِدَ الْفُجَّارَ
walazimaka an tujāhidal fujjār
And it became necessary for you to struggle against the wicked
225
فَسِرْتَ فِي أَوْلَادِكَ وَأَهَالِيكَ
fasir-ta fī awlādika wa-ahālīk
So you set out with your children and family
226
وَشِيعَتِكَ وَمَوَالِيكَ
washī`atika wamawālīk
And your followers and supporters
227
وَصَدَعْتَ بِالْحَقِّ وَالْبَيِّنَةِ
waṣada`ta bil ḥaqqi walbayyinah
And you proclaimed the truth and clear evidence
228
وَدَعَوْتَ إِلَى اللَّهِ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالْمَوْعِظَةِ الْحَسَنَةِ
wada`awta ilallāhi bil ḥikmati walmaw`iẓatil ḥasanah
And you called to Allah with wisdom and good advice
229
وَأَمَرْتَ بِإِقَامَةِ الْحُدُودِ
wa-amar-ta bi-iqāmatil ḥudūd
And you commanded the establishment of limits
230
وَالطَّاعَةِ لِلْمَعْبُودِ
waṭ ṭā`ati lilma`būd
And obedience to the Worshipped One
231
وَنَهَيْتَ عَنِ الْخَبَائِثِ وَالطُّغْيَانِ
wanahayta `anil khabā-ithi waṭ ṭughyān
And you forbade evil and tyranny
232
وَوَاجَهُوكَ بِالظُّلْمِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ
wawājahūka biẓ ẓulmi wal`udwān
And they confronted you with oppression and aggression
233
فَجَاهَدْتَهُمْ بَعْدَ الْإِيعَازِ لَهُمْ
fajāhadtahum ba`dal ī`āzi lahum
So you fought them after warning them
234
وَتَأْكِيدِ الْحُجَّةِ عَلَيْهِمْ
wata-kīdil ḥujjati `alayhim
And establishing proof against them
235
فَنَكَثُوْا ذِمَامَكَ وَبَيْعَتَكَ
fanakathū dhimāmaka wabay`atak
Then they broke their covenant and allegiance to you
236
وَأَسْخَطُوْا رَبَّكَ وَجَدَّكَ
wa-askhaṭū rabbaka wajaddak
And angered your Lord and your grandfather
237
وَبَدَؤُوكَ بِالْحَرْبِ
wabada-ūka bil ḥar-b
And they initiated war against you
238
فَثَبَتَّ لِلطَّعْنِ وَالضَّرْبِ
fathabatta liṭṭa`ni waḍ ḍar-b
So you stood firm against the thrusts and blows
239
وَطَحَنْتَ جُنُودَ الْفُجَّارِ
waṭaḥanta junūdal fujjār
And you crushed the armies of the wicked
240
وَاقْتَحَمْتَ قَسْطَلَ الْغُبَارِ
waqtaḥamta qasṭalal ghubār
And you plunged into the dust of battle
241
مُجَاهِدًا بِذِي الْفِقَارِ
mujāhidan bidhil fiqār
Fighting with Dhul-Fiqar
242
كَأَنَّكَ عَلِيٌّ الْمُخْتَارُ
ka-annaka `aliyyunal mukhtār
As if you were Ali the chosen one
243
فَلَمَّا رَأَوْكَ ثَابِتَ الْجَأْشِ
falammā ra-awka thābital ja-sh
When they saw you steady-hearted
244
غَيْرَ خَائِفٍ وَلَا خَاشٍ
ghayra khā-ifin walā khāsh
Neither fearful nor apprehensive
245
نَصَبُوْا لَكَ غَوَائِلَ مَكْرِهِمْ
naṣabū laka ghawā-ila makrihim
They set traps of deceit for you
246
وَقَاتَلُوكَ بِكَيْدِهِمْ وَشَرِّهِمْ
waqātalūka bikaydihim washarrihim
And fought you with their cunning and evil
247
وَأَمَرَ اللَّعِينُ جُنُودَهُ
wa-amaral la`īnu junūdah
And the accursed one commanded his troops
248
فَمَنَعُوكَ الْمَاءَ وَوُرُودَهُ
famana`ūkal mā-a wawurūdah
So they prevented you from water and its access
249
وَنَاجَزُوكَ الْقِتَالَ
wanājazūkal qitāl
And they rushed you to battle
250
وَعَاجَلُوكَ النِّزَالَ
wa`ājalūkan nizāl
And hastened to confront you
251
وَرَشَقُوكَ بِالسِّهَامِ وَالنِّبَالِ
warashaqūka bissihāmi wan nibāl
And they shot you with arrows and darts
252
وَبَسَطُوْا إِلَيْكَ أَكُفَّ الِاصْطِلَامِ
wabasaṭū ilayka akuffal iṣṭilām
And they extended their hands to destroy you

وَلَمْ يَرْعُوْا لَكَ ذِمَامًا
walam yar-`ū laka dhimāmā
And they did not observe any covenant for you
254
وَلَا رَاقَبُوْا فِيكَ أَثَامًا
walā rāqabū fīka athāmā
Nor did they fear any sin regarding you
255
فِي قَتْلِهِمْ أَوْلِيَاءَكَ
fī qatlihim awliyā-ak
In killing your supporters
256
وَنَهْبِهِمْ رِحَالَكَ
wanahbihim riḥālak
And plundering your belongings
257
وَأَنْتَ مُقَدَّمٌ فِي الْهَبَوَاتِ
wa-anta muqaddamun fil habawāt
While you were at the forefront in the heat of battle
258
وَمُحْتَمِلٌ لِلْأَذِيَّاتِ
wamuḥtamilun lil-adhiyyāt
Enduring the injuries
259
قَدْ عَجِبَتْ مِنْ صَبْرِكَ مَلَائِكَةُ السَّمَاوَاتِ
qad `ajibat min ṣabrika malā-ikatus samāwāt
The angels of heaven marveled at your patience
260
فَأَحْدَقُوْا بِكَ مِنْ كُلِّ الْجِهَاتِ
fa-aḥdaqū bika min kullil jihāt
They surrounded you from all directions
261
وَأَثْخَنُوكَ بِالْجِرَاحِ
wa-athkhanūka bil jirāḥ
And inflicted you with wounds
262
وَحَالُوْا بَيْنَكَ وَبَيْنَ الرَّوَاحِ
waḥālū baynaka wabaynar rawāḥ
And prevented you from escape
263
وَلَمْ يَبْقَ لَكَ نَاصِرٌ
walam yabqa laka nāṣir
And no helper remained for you
264
وَأَنْتَ مُحْتَسِبٌ صَابِرٌ
wa-anta muḥtasibun ṣābir
While you were patient, expecting reward
265
تَذُبُّ عَنْ نِسْوَتِكَ وَأَوْلَادِكَ
tadhubbu `an niswatika wa-awlādik
Defending your women and children
266
حَتَّى نَكَّسُوكَ عَنْ جَوَادِكَ
ḥattā nakkasūka `an jawādik
Until they knocked you from your horse
267
فَهَوَيْتَ إِلَى الْأَرْضِ جَرِيحًا
fahawayta ilal ar-ḍi jarīḥā
And you fell to the ground wounded
268
تَطَؤُكَ الْخُيُولُ بِحَوَافِرِهَا
taṭa-ukal khuyūlu biḥawāfirihā
The horses trampled you with their hooves
269
وَتَعْلُوكَ الطُّغَاةُ بِبَوَاتِرِهَا
wata`lūkaṭ ṭughātu bibawātirihā
And the tyrants struck you with their swords
270
قَدْ رَشَحَ لِلْمَوْتِ جَبِينُكَ
qad rashaḥa lilmawti jabīnuk
Your forehead sweated with the approach of death
271
وَاخْتَلَفَتْ بِالْإِنْقِبَاضِ وَالْإِنْبِسَاطِ شِمَالُكَ وَيَمِينُكَ
wakhtalafat bil inqibāḍi wal-inbisāṭi shimāluka wayamīnuk
Your left and right hands contracted and expanded

تُدِيرُ طَرْفًا خَفِيًّا إِلَى رَحْلِكَ وَبَيْتِكَ
tudīru ṭar-fan khafiyyan ilā raḥlika wabaytik
You turned your fading gaze toward your camp and tent

وَقَدْ شُغِلْتَ بِنَفْسِكَ عَنْ وُلْدِكَ وَأَهَالِيكَ
waqad shughilta binafsika `an wuldika wa-ahālīk
And you were distracted from your children and family by your own plight
274
وَأَسْرَعَ فَرَسُكَ شَارِدًا إِلَى خِيَامِكَ
wa-asra`a farasuka shāridan ilā khiyāmik
Your horse fled toward your tents
275
قَاصِدًا مُحَمْحِمًا بَاكِيًا
qāṣidan muḥamḥiman bākiyā
Neighing and weeping
276
فَلَمَّا رَأَيْنَ النِّسَاءُ جَوَادَكَ مَخْزِيًّا
falammā ra-aynan nisā-u jawādaka makhziyyā
When the women saw your horse humiliated
277
وَنَظَرْنَ سَرْجَكَ عَلَيْهِ مَلْوِيًّا
wanaẓar-na sar-jaka `alayhi malwiyyā
And saw your saddle upon it twisted
278
بَرَزْنَ مِنَ الْخُدُورِ
barazna minal khudūr
They came out from their tents
279
نَاشِرَاتِ الشُّعُورِ عَلَى الْخُدُودِ
nāshirātish shu`ūri `alal khudūd
With hair disheveled over their cheeks
280
لَاطِمَاتِ الْوُجُوهِ سَافِرَاتٍ
lāṭimātil wujūhi sāfirāt
Striking their faces, unveiled
281
وَبِالْعَوِيلِ دَاعِيَاتٍ
wabil `awīli dā`iyāt
Wailing loudly
282
وَبَعْدَ الْعِزِّ مُذَلَّلَاتٍ
waba`dal `izzi mudhallalāt
And after dignity, humiliated
283
وَإِلَى مَصْرَعِكَ مُبَادِرَاتٍ
wa-ilā maṣra`ika mubādirāt
And rushing to the place of your martyrdom
284
وَالشِّمْرُ جَالِسٌ عَلَى صَدْرِكَ
wash shimru jālisun `alā ṣadrik
While Shimr was sitting on your chest
285
وَمُولِغٌ سَيْفَهُ عَلَى نَحْرِكَ
wamūlighun sayfahu `alā naḥrik
Plunging his sword into your throat
286
قَابِضٌ عَلَى شَيْبَتِكَ بِيَدِهِ
qābiḍun `alā shaybatika biyadih
Grasping your beard with his hand
287
ذَابِحٌ لَكَ بِمُهَنَّدِهِ
dhābiḥun laka bimuhannadih
Slaughtering you with his sword
288
قَدْ سَكَنَتْ حَوَاسُّكَ
qad sakanat ḥawassuk
Your senses became still
289
وَخَفِيَتْ أَنْفَاسُكَ
wakhafiyat anfāsuk
Your breathing ceased
290
وَرُفِعَ عَلَى الْقَنَاةِ رَأْسُكَ
warufi`a `alal qanāti ra-suk
And your head was raised on a spear
291
وَسُبِيَ أَهْلُكَ كَالْعَبِيدِ
wasubiya ahluka kal`abīd
And your family was taken captive like slaves
292
وَصُفِّدُوْا فِي الْحَدِيدِ
waṣuffidū fil ḥadīd
And they were bound in iron
293
فَوْقَ أَقْتَابِ الْمَطِيَّاتِ
fawqa aqtābil maṭiyyāt
Upon the backs of camels
294
تَلْفَحُ وُجُوهَهُمْ حَرُّ الْهَاجِرَاتِ
talfaḥu wujūhahum ḥarrul hājirāt
The heat of midday scorched their faces
295
يُسَاقُونَ فِي الْبَرَارِيِّ وَالْفَلَوَاتِ
yusāqūna fil barāriyyi walfalawāt
They were driven through wilderness and deserts
296
أَيْدِيهِمْ مَغْلُولَةٌ إِلَى الْأَعْنَاقِ
aydīhim maghlūlatun ilal a`nāq
Their hands chained to their necks
297
يُطَافُ بِهِمْ فِي الْأَسْوَاقِ
yuṭāfu bihim fil aswāq
They were paraded through the markets
298
فَالْوَيْلُ لِلْعُصَاةِ الْفُسَّاقِ
falwaylu lil`uṣātil fussāq
Woe to the disobedient sinners
299
لَقَدْ قَتَلُوْا بِقَتْلِكَ الْإِسْلَامَ
laqad qatalū biqatlikal islām
By killing you they killed Islam
300
وَعَطَّلُوْا الصَّلَاةَ وَالصِّيَامَ
wa`aṭṭaluṣ ṣalāta waṣ ṣiyām
And invalidated prayer and fasting
301
وَنَقَضُوْا السُّنَنَ وَالْأَحْكَامَ
wanaqaḍus sunana wal-aḥkām
And violated traditions and judgments
302
وَهَدَمُوْا قَوَاعِدَ الْإِيمَانِ
wahadamū qawā`idal īmān
And demolished the foundations of faith
303
وَحَرَّفُوْا آيَاتِ الْقُرْآنِ
waḥarrafū-āyātil qur-ān
And distorted the verses of the Quran
304
وَهَمْلَجُوْا فِي الْبَغْيِ وَالْعُدْوَانِ
wahamlajū fil baghyi wal`udwān
And hastened to rebellion and transgression
305
لَقَدْ أَصْبَحَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ مَوْتُورًا
laqad aṣbaḥa rasūlullāhi mawtūrā
The Messenger of Allah became bereaved
306
وَعَادَ كِتَابُ اللَّهِ عَزَّ وَجَلَّ مَهْجُورًا
wa`āda kitābullāhi `azza wajalla mahjūrā
And the Book of Allah, the Mighty and Sublime, became abandoned
307
وَغُودِرَ الْحَقُّ إِذْ قُهِرْتَ مَقْهُورًا
waghūdiral ḥaqqu idh quhir-ta maqhūrā
And truth was left conquered when you were overcome
308
وَفُقِدَ بِفَقْدِكَ التَّكْبِيرُ وَالتَّهْلِيلُ
wafuqida bifaqdikat takbīru wat tahlīl
And with your loss was lost the takbir and tahlil
309
وَالتَّحْرِيمُ وَالتَّحْلِيلُ
wat taḥrīmu wat taḥlīl
And prohibition and permission
310
وَالتَّنْزِيلُ وَالتَّأْوِيلُ
wat tanzīlu wat ta-wīl
And revelation and interpretation
311
وَظَهَرَ بَعْدَكَ التَّغْيِيرُ وَالتَّبْدِيلُ
waẓahara ba`dakat taghyīru wat tabdīl
And after you appeared alteration and substitution
312
وَالْإِلْحَادُ وَالتَّعْطِيلُ
wal-ilḥādu wat ta`ṭīl
And atheism and denial
313
وَالْأَهْوَاءُ وَالْأَضَالِيلُ
wal-ahwā-u wal-aḍālīl
And whims and falsehoods
314
وَالْفِتَنُ وَالْأَبَاطِيلُ
walfitanu wal-abāṭīl
And tribulations and vanities
315
فَقَامَ نَاعِيكَ عِنْدَ قَبْرِ جَدِّكَ الرَّسُولِ
faqāma nā`īka `inda qabri jaddikar rasūl
Then your mourner stood at the grave of your grandfather, the Messenger
316
فَنَعَاكَ إِلَيْهِ بِالدَّمْعِ الْهَطُولِ
fana`āka ilayhi bid dam`il haṭūl
And announced your death to him with flowing tears
317
قَائِلًا: يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ
qā-ilan: yā rasūlallāh
Saying: O Messenger of Allah
318
قُتِلَ سِبْطُكَ وَفَتَاكَ
qutila sibṭuka wafatāk
Your grandson and your young one has been killed
319
وَاسْتُبِيحَ أَهْلُكَ وَحِمَاكَ
wastubīḥa ahluka waḥimāk
Your family and sanctuary have been violated
320
وَسُبِيَتْ بَعْدَكَ ذَرَارِيكَ
wasubiyat ba`daka dharārīk
Your descendants have been taken captive after you
321
وَوَقَعَ الْمَحْذُورُ بِعِتْرَتِكَ وَذَوِيكَ
wawaqa`al maḥdhūru bi`itratika wadhawīk
And the dreaded fate has befallen your family and your kin
322
فَانْزَعَجَ الرَّسُولُ
fanza`ajar rasūl
So the Messenger was disturbed
323
وَبَكَى قَلْبُهُ الْمَهُولُ
wabakā qalbuhul mahūl
And his terrified heart wept
324
وَعَزَّاهُ بِكَ الْمَلَائِكَةُ وَالْأَنْبِيَاءُ
wa`azzāhu bikal malā-ikatu wal-anbiyā
And the angels and prophets consoled him over you
325
وَفُجِعَتْ بِكَ أُمُّكَ الزَّهْرَاءُ
wafuji`at bika ummukaz zahrā
And your mother al-Zahra was grief-stricken by you
326
وَاخْتَلَفَتْ جُنُودُ الْمَلَائِكَةِ الْمُقَرَّبِينَ
wakhtalafat junūdul malā-ikatil muqarrabīn
And the armies of the favored angels came
327
تُعَزِّي أَبَاكَ أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
tu`azzī abāka amīral mu-minīn
To offer condolences to your father, the Commander of the Faithful
328
وَأُقِيمَتْ لَكَ الْمَاتِمُ فِي أَعْلَى عِلِّيِّينَ
wa-uqīmat lakal mātimu fī a`lā `illiyyīn
And mourning assemblies were established for you in the highest heavens
329
وَلَطَمَتْ عَلَيْكَ الْحُورُ الْعِينُ
walaṭamat `alaykal ḥūrul `īn
And the houris struck their faces in grief for you
330
وَبَكَتِ السَّمَاءُ وَسُكَّانُهَا
wabakatis samā-u wasukkānuhā
And heaven and its inhabitants wept
331
وَالْجِنَانُ وَخُزَّانُهَا
waljinānu wakhuzzānuhā
And paradise and its keepers
332
وَالْهِضَابُ وَأَقْطَارُهَا
walhiḍābu wa-aqṭāruhā
And the mountains and their regions
333
وَالْبِحَارُ وَحِيتَانُهَا
walbiḥāru waḥītānuhā
And the seas and their fish
334
وَالْجِنَانُ وَوِلْدَانُهَا
waljinānu wawildānuhā
And paradise and its youths
335
وَالْبَيْتُ وَالْمَقَامُ
walbaytu walmaqām
And the House and the Station
336
وَالْمَشْعَرُ الْحَرَامُ
walmash`arul ḥarām
And the Sacred Monument
337
وَالْحِلُّ وَالْإِحْرَامُ
walḥillu wal-iḥrām
And the non-sacred and the sacred
338
اَللَّهُمَّ فَبِحُرْمَةِ هٰذَا الْمَكَانِ الْمُنِيفِ
allāhumma fabiḥur-mati hādhal makānil munīf
O Allah, by the sanctity of this noble place
339
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
Send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
340
وَاحْشُرْنِي فِي زُمْرَتِهِمْ
waḥshur-nī fī zumratihim
And resurrect me in their company
341
وَأَدْخِلْنِي الْجَنَّةَ بِشَفَاعَتِهِمْ
wa-adkhilnil jannata bishafā`atihim
And admit me to Paradise by their intercession
342
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَتَوَسَّلُ إِلَيْكَ يَا أَسْرَعَ الْحَاسِبِينَ
allāhumma innī atawassalu ilayka yā asra`al ḥāsibīn
O Allah, I implore You, O Swiftest of Reckoners
343
وَيَا أَكْرَمَ الْأَكْرَمِينَ
wayā akramal akramīn
And O Most Generous of the generous
344
وَيَا أَحْكَمَ الْحَاكِمِينَ
wayā aḥkamal ḥākimīn
And O Wisest of judges
345
بِمُحَمَّدٍ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّينَ
bimuḥammadin khātamin nabiyyīn
By Muhammad, the Seal of the Prophets
346
وَرَسُولِكَ إِلَى الْعَالَمِينَ أَجْمَعِينَ
warasūlika ilal `ālamīna ajma`īn
And Your Messenger to all the worlds
347
وَبِأَخِيهِ وَابْنِ عَمِّهِ الْأَنْزَعِ الْبَطِينِ
wabi-akhīhi wabni `ammihil anza`il baṭīn
And by his brother and cousin, the one with a receding hairline and large belly
348
اَلْعَالِمِ الْمَكِينِ
al `ālimil makīn
The knowledgeable, the firmly established
349
عَلِيٍّ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ
`aliyyin amīril mu-minīn
Ali, the Commander of the Faithful
350
وَبِفَاطِمَةَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَاءِ الْعَالَمِينَ
wabifāṭimata sayyidati nisā-il `ālamīn
And by Fatima, the leader of the women of the worlds
351
وَبِالْحَسَنِ الزَّكِيِّ عِصْمَةِ الْمُتَّقِينَ
wabil ḥasaniz zakiyyi `iṣmatil muttaqīn
And by al-Hasan, the pure, the guardian of the pious
352
وَبِأَبِي عَبْدِ اللَّهِ الْحُسَيْنِ أَكْرَمِ الْمُسْتَشْهَدِينَ
wabi-abī `abdillāhil ḥusayni akramil mustash-hadīn
And by Abu Abdullah al-Husayn, the most noble of martyrs

وَبِأَوْلَادِهِ الْمَقْتُولِينَ
wabi-awlādihil maqtūlīn
And by his slain children
354
وَبِعِتْرَتِهِ الْمَظْلُومِينَ
wabi`itratihil maẓlūmīn
And by his oppressed family
355
وَبِعَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ زَيْنِ الْعَابِدِينَ
wabi`aliyyibnil ḥusayni zaynil `ābidīn
And by Ali ibn al-Husayn, the Adornment of the Worshippers
356
وَبِمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قِبْلَةِ الْأَوَّابِينَ
wabimuḥammadibni `aliyyin qiblatil awwābīn
And by Muhammad ibn Ali, the direction of those who turn in repentance
357
وَبِجَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ أَصْدَقِ الصَّادِقِينَ
wabija`faribni muḥammadin aṣdaqiṣ ṣādiqīn
And by Ja'far ibn Muhammad, the most truthful of the truthful
358
وَبِمُوسَى بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ مُظْهِرِ الْبَرَاهِينِ
wabimūsabni ja`farin muẓhiril barāhīn
And by Musa ibn Ja'far, the revealer of proofs
359
وَبِعَلِيِّ بْنِ مُوسَى نَاصِرِ الدِّينِ
wabi`aliyyibni mūsā nāṣirid dīn
And by Ali ibn Musa, the supporter of religion
360
وَبِمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ قُدْوَةِ الْمُهْتَدِينَ
wabimuḥammadibni `aliyyin qudwatil muhtadīn
And by Muhammad ibn Ali, the exemplar of the guided ones
361
وَبِعَلِيِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ أَزْهَدِ الزَّاهِدِينَ
wabi`aliyyibni muḥammadin azhadiz zāhidīn
And by Ali ibn Muhammad, the most ascetic of the ascetics
362
وَبِالْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ وَارِثِ الْمُسْتَخْلَفِينَ
wabil ḥasanibni `aliyyin wārithil mustakhlafīn
And by al-Hasan ibn Ali, the inheritor of the successors
363
وَبِالْحُجَّةِ عَلَى الْخَلْقِ أَجْمَعِينَ
wabil ḥujjati `alal khalqi ajma`īn
And by the Proof over all creation
364
أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ الصَّادِقِينَ الْأَبَرِّينَ
an tuṣalliya `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammadiniṣ ṣādiqīnal abarrīn
That You send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the truthful, the righteous
365
آلِ طٰهٰ وَيٰسِ
āli ṭāhā wayāsīn
The family of Taha and Yasin
366
وَأَنْ تَجْعَلَنِي فِي الْقِيَامَةِ مِنَ الْآمِنِينَ الْمُطْمَئِنِّينَ
wa-an taj`alanī fil qiyāmati minal-āminīnal muṭma-innīn
And that You make me on the Day of Resurrection among the secure and tranquil
367
اَلْفَائِزِينَ الْفَرِحِينَ الْمُسْتَبْشِرِينَ
al fā-izīnal fariḥīnal mustabshirīn
The successful, the joyful, and the glad
368
اَللَّهُمَّ اكْتُبْنِي فِي الْمُسْلِمِينَ
allāhummaktubnī fil muslimīn
O Allah, write me among the Muslims
369
وَأَلْحِقْنِي بِالصَّالِحِينَ
wa-alḥiqnī biṣṣāliḥīn
And join me with the righteous
370
وَاجْعَلْ لِي لِسَانَ صِدْقٍ فِي الْآخِرِينَ
waj`al lī lisāna ṣidqin fil-ākhirīn
And grant me a truthful mention among the later generations
371
وَانْصُرْنِي عَلَى الْبَاغِينَ
wanṣur-nī `alal bāghīn
And help me against the oppressors
372
وَاكْفِنِي كَيْدَ الْحَاسِدِينَ
wakfinī kaydal ḥāsidīn
And suffice me against the plots of the envious
373
وَاصْرِفْ عَنِّي مَكْرَ الْمَاكِرِينَ
waṣrif `annī makral mākirīn
And avert from me the schemes of the schemers
374
وَاقْبِضْ عَنِّي أَيْدِيَ الظَّالِمِينَ
waqbiḍ `annī aydiyaẓ ẓālimīn
And restrain from me the hands of the oppressors
375
وَاجْمَعْ بَيْنِي وَبَيْنَ السَّادَةِ الْمَيَامِينِ فِي أَعْلَى عِلِّيِّينَ
wajma` baynī wabaynas sādatil mayāmīni fī a`lā `illiyyīn
And gather me with the blessed masters in the highest heights
376
مَعَ الَّذِيْنَ أَنْعَمْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ مِنَ النَّبِيِّينَ
ma`al ladhīna an`amta `alayhim minan nabiyyīn
With those whom You have blessed among the prophets
377
وَالصِّدِّيقِينَ وَالشُّهَدَاءِ وَالصَّالِحِينَ
waṣ ṣiddīqīna wash shuhadā-i waṣ ṣāliḥīn
And the truthful and the martyrs and the righteous
378
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ
biraḥmatika yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
By Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful
379
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أُقْسِمُ عَلَيْكَ بِنَبِيِّكَ الْمَعْصُومِ
allāhumma innī uqsimu `alayka binabiyyikal ma`ṣūm
O Allah, I adjure You by Your infallible Prophet
380
وَبِحُكْمِكَ الْمَحْتُومِ
wabiḥukmikal maḥtūm
And by Your inevitable decree
381
وَنَهْيِكَ الْمَكْتُومِ
wanahyikal maktūm
And Your concealed prohibition
382
وَبِهٰذَا الْقَبْرِ الْمَلْمُومِ
wabihādhal qabril malmūm
And by this well-built grave
383
اَلْمُوَسَّدِ فِي كَنَفِهِ الْإِمَامِ الْمَعْصُومِ
al muwassadi fī kanafihil imāmil ma`ṣūm
In which rests the infallible Imam
384
اَلْمَقْتُولِ الْمَظْلُومِ
al maqtūlil maẓlūm
The slain, the oppressed
385
أَنْ تَكْشِفَ مَا بِي مِنَ الْغُمُومِ
an takshifa mā bī minal ghumūm
That You remove the sorrows that afflict me
386
وَتَصْرِفَ عَنِّي شَرَّ الْقَدَرِ الْمَحْتُومِ
wataṣrifa `annī sharral qadaril maḥtūm
And avert from me the evil of the inevitable decree
387
وَتُجِيرَنِي مِنَ النَّارِ ذَاتِ السَّمُومِ
watujīranī minan nāri dhātis samūm
And protect me from the scorching fire
388
اَللَّهُمَّ جَلِّلْنِي بِنِعْمَتِكَ
allāhumma jallinī bini`matik
O Allah, cover me with Your blessing
389
وَرَضِّنِي بِقَسَمِكَ
waraḍḍinī biqasamik
Make me content with what You have apportioned
390
وَتَغَمَّدْنِي بِجُودِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ
wataghammadnī bijūdika wakaramik
Envelop me in Your generosity and kindness
391
وَبَاعِدْنِي مِنْ مَكْرِكَ وَنِقْمَتِكَ
wabā`idnī min makrika waniqmatik
And keep me away from Your plot and vengeance
392
اَللَّهُمَّ اعْصِمْنِي مِنَ الزَّلَلِ
allāhumma`ṣimnī minaz zalal
O Allah, protect me from error
393
وَسَدِّدْنِي فِي الْقَوْلِ وَالْعَمَلِ
wasaddidnī fil qawli wal`amal
And guide me in word and deed
394
وَافْسَحْ لِي فِي مُدَّةِ الْأَجَلِ
wafsaḥ lī fī muddatil ajal
And extend for me my term of life
395
وَاعْفِنِي مِنَ الْأَوْجَاعِ وَالْعِلَلِ
wa`finī minal awjā`i wal`ilal
And save me from pains and illnesses
396
وَبَلِّغْنِي بِمَوَالِيَّ وَبِفَضْلِكَ أَفْضَلَ الْأَمَلِ
waballighnī bimawāliyya wabifaḍlika afḍalal amal
And help me reach, through my masters and Your grace, the best of hopes
397
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad

وَاقْبَلْ تَوْبَتِي
waqbal tawbatī
And accept my repentance
399
وَارْحَمْ عَبْرَتِي
war-ḥam `abratī
And have mercy on my tears
400
وَأَقِلْنِي عَثْرَتِي
wa-aqilnī `athratī
And overlook my mistakes
401
وَنَفِّسْ كُرْبَتِي
wanaffis kur-batī
And relieve my distress
402
وَاغْفِرْ لِي خَطِيئَتِي
waghfir lī khaṭī-atī
And forgive my sin
403
وَأَصْلِحْ لِي فِي ذُرِّيَّتِي
wa-aṣliḥ lī fī dhurriyyatī
And grant me goodness in my offspring
404
اَللَّهُمَّ لَا تَدَعْ لِي فِي هٰذَا الْمَشْهَدِ الْمُعَظَّمِ
allāhumma lā tada` lī fī hādhal mash-hadil mu`aẓẓam
O Allah, do not leave for me in this great shrine
405
وَالْمَحَلِّ الْمُكَرَّمِ
walmaḥallil mukarram
And this honored place
406
ذَنْبًا إِلَّا غَفَرْتَهُ
dhanban illā ghafar-tah
Any sin but that You forgive it
407
وَلَا عَيْبًا إِلَّا سَتَرْتَهُ
walā `ayban illā satar-tah
Nor any fault but that You conceal it
408
وَلَا غَمًّا إِلَّا كَشَفْتَهُ
walā ghamman illā kashaftah
Nor any grief but that You remove it
409
وَلَا رِزْقًا إِلَّا بَسَطْتَهُ
walā rizqan illā basaṭtah
Nor any provision but that You expand it
410
وَلَا جَاهًا إِلَّا عَمَرْتَهُ
walā jāhan illā `amar-tah
Nor any status but that You elevate it
411
وَلَا فَسَادًا إِلَّا أَصْلَحْتَهُ
walā fasādan illā aṣlaḥtah
Nor any corruption but that You rectify it
412
وَلَا أَمَلًا إِلَّا بَلَّغْتَهُ
walā amalan illā ballaghtah
Nor any hope but that You fulfill it
413
وَلَا دُعَاءً إِلَّا أَجَبْتَهُ
walā du`ā-an illā ajabtah
Nor any supplication but that You answer it
414
وَلَا مَضِيقًا إِلَّا فَرَّجْتَهُ
walā maḍīqan illā farrajtah
Nor any difficulty but that You relieve it
415
وَلَا شَمْلًا إِلَّا جَمَعْتَهُ
walā shamlan illā jama`tah
Nor any dispersed state but that You unite it
416
وَلَا أَمْرًا إِلَّا أَتْمَمْتَهُ
walā amran illā atmamtah
Nor any affair but that You complete it
417
وَلَا مَالًا إِلَّا كَثَّرْتَهُ
walā mālan illā kathhar-tah
Nor any wealth but that You increase it
418
وَلَا خُلُقًا إِلَّا حَسَّنْتَهُ
walā khuluqan illā ḥassantah
Nor any character but that You improve it
419
وَلَا إِنْفَاقًا إِلَّا أَخْلَفْتَهُ
walā infāqan illā akhlaftah
Nor any spending but that You replenish it
420
وَلَا حَالًا إِلَّا عَمَرْتَهُ
walā ḥālan illā `amar-tah
Nor any condition but that You improve it
421
وَلَا حَسُودًا إِلَّا قَمَعْتَهُ
walā ḥasūdan illā qama`tah
Nor any envious one but that You subdue him
422
وَلَا عَدُوًّا إِلَّا أَرْدَيْتَهُ
walā `aduwwan illā ar-daytah
Nor any enemy but that You destroy him
423
وَلَا شَرًّا إِلَّا كَفَيْتَهُ
walā sharran illā kafaytah
Nor any evil but that You suffice me against it
424
وَلَا مَرَضًا إِلَّا شَفَيْتَهُ
walā maraḍan illā shafaytah
Nor any illness but that You cure it
425
وَلَا بَعِيدًا إِلَّا أَدْنَيْتَهُ
walā ba`īdan illā adnaytah
Nor any distant one but that You bring him near
426
وَلَا شَعَثًا إِلَّا لَمَمْتَهُ
walā sha`athan illā lamamtah
Nor any disorder but that You set it right
427
وَلَا سُؤَالًا إِلَّا أَعْطَيْتَهُ
walā su-ālan illā a`ṭaytah
Nor any request but that You grant it
428
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ خَيْرَ الْعَاجِلَةِ
allāhumma innī as-aluka khayral `ājilah
O Allah, I ask You for the good of this world
429
وَثَوَابَ الْآجِلَةِ
wathawābal-ājilah
And the reward of the Hereafter
430
اَللَّهُمَّ أَغْنِنِي بِحَلَالِكَ عَنِ الْحَرَامِ
allāhumma aghninī biḥalālika `anil ḥarām
O Allah, make me content with what is lawful, away from what is forbidden
431
وَبِفَضْلِكَ عَنْ جَمِيعِ الْأَنَامِ
wabifaḍlika `an jamī`il anām
And by Your grace, independent of all people
432
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ عِلْمًا نَافِعًا
allāhumma innī as-aluka `ilman nāfi`ā
O Allah, I ask You for beneficial knowledge
433
وَقَلْبًا خَاشِعًا
waqalban khāshi`ā
And a humble heart
434
وَيَقِينًا شَافِيًا
wayaqīnan shāfiyā
And healing certainty
435
وَعَمَلًا زَاكِيًا
wa`amalan zākiyā
And pure deeds
436
وَصَبْرًا جَمِيلًا
waṣabran jamīlā
And beautiful patience
437
وَأَجْرًا جَزِيلًا
wa-ajran jazīlā
And abundant reward
438
اَللَّهُمَّ ارْزُقْنِي شُكْرَ نِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيَّ
allāhummar-zuqnī shukra ni`matika `alayy
O Allah, grant me gratitude for Your blessings upon me
439
وَزِدْ فِي إِحْسَانِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ إِلَيَّ
wazid fī iḥsānika wakaramika ilayy
And increase Your kindness and generosity toward me
440
وَاجْعَلْ قَوْلِي فِي النَّاسِ مَسْمُوعًا
waj`al qawlī fin nāsi masmū`ā
And make my words heard among people
441
وَعَمَلِي عِنْدَكَ مَرْفُوعًا
wa`amalī `indaka mar-fū`ā
And my deeds raised before You
442
وَأَثَرِي فِي الْخَيْرَاتِ مَتْبُوعًا
wa-atharī fil khayrāti matbū`ā
And my influence in good works followed
443
وَعَدُوِّي مَقْمُوعًا
wa`aduwwī maqmū`ā
And my enemy subdued
444
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ الْأَخْيَارِ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammadinil akhyār
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad, the virtuous
445
فِي آنَاءِ اللَّيْلِ وَأَطْرَافِ النَّهَارِ
fī-ānā-il layli wa-aṭrāfin nahār
In the hours of night and the ends of day
446
وَاكْفِنِي شَرَّ الْأَشْرَارِ
wakfinī sharral ashrār
And protect me from the evil of the wicked
447
وَطَهِّرْنِي مِنَ الذُّنُوبِ وَالْأَوْزَارِ
waṭahhir-nī minadh dhunūbi wal-awzār
And purify me from sins and burdens
448
وَأَجِرْنِي مِنَ النَّارِ
wa-ajir-nī minan nār
And save me from the Fire
449
وَأَحِلَّنِي دَارَ الْقَرَارِ
wa-aḥillanī dāral qarār
And settle me in the abode of permanence
450
وَاغْفِرْ لِي وَلِجَمِيعِ إِخْوَانِي وَأَخَوَاتِي الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَالْمُؤْمِنَاتِ
waghfir lī walijamī`i ikhwānī wa-akhawātil mu-minīna walmu-mināt
And forgive me and all my believing brothers and sisters

بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ
biraḥmatika yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
By Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful
