بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent the merciful
1
لآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللَّهُ الْحَلِيْمُ الْكَرِيْمُ
lā ilāha illallāhul ḥalīmul karīm
There is no god except Allah the Forbearing, the Generous
2
لآ اِلٰهَ اِلَّا اللَّهُ الْعَلِيُّ الْعَظِيْمُ
lā ilāha illallāhul `aliyyul `aẓīm
There is no god except Allah the High the Almighty
3
سُبْحَانَ اللَّهِ رَبِّ السَّمَاوَاتِ السَّبْعِ
subḥānallāhi rabbis samāwātis sab`
Glory be to Allah Lord of the seven heavens
4
وَ رَبِّ الَارْضِيْنَ السَّبْعِ
wa rabbil ar-ḍīnas sab`
and Lord of the seven earths
5
وَ مَا فِيْهِنَّ وَ مَا بَيْنَهُنَّ
wa mā fīhinna wa mā baynahunn
and whatever is in them, and between them
6
وَ مَا فَوْقَهُنَّ وَ مَا تَحْتَهُنَّ
wa mā fawqahunna wa mā taḥtahunn
and above them and below them,
7
رَبُّ الْعَرْشِ الْعَظِيْمِ
rabbul `ar-shil `aẓīm
Lord of the Mighty Throne.
8
وَ سَلاَمٌ عَلَى الْمُرْسَلِيْنَ
wa salāmun `alal mur-salīn
Peace be on the Messengers.
9
وَ الْحَمْدُ لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
wal ḥamdu lillāhi rabbil `ālamīn
All praise is for Allah Lord of the worlds.
10
وَ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ الطَّاهِرِيْنَ
wa ṣallallāhu `alā muḥammadin wa-ālihiṭ ṭāhirīn
O Allah bless Muhammad and his pure family.
Then recite isteghfar 70 times:
11
أَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ رَبِّيْ وَأَتُوبُ إِلَيْهِ
astaghfirullāha rabbī wa-atūbu ilayh
I seek the forgiveness of Allah, my Lord, and I repent before Him
Ask for the forgiveness of forty believers, men and women, who have died or are living, by repeating forty times
12
اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِ
allāhummaghfir li
O Allah, forgive [Name]
If it is not possible to name forty believers, name as many as possible and then say:
13
اَللَّهُمَّ اغْفِرْ لِلْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَ الْمُؤْمِنَاتِ
allāhummaghfir lilmu-minīna wal mu-mināt
O Allah forgive all believers, male and female
14
اَسْتَغْفِرُ اللَّهَ الَّذِيْ لَا اِلٰهَ اِلَّا هُوَ الْحَيُّ الْقَيُّومُ
astaghfirullāhal ladhī lā ilāha illā huwal ḥayyul qayyūm
I seek forgiveness of Allah, He who there is no god but He, the Ever living, the subsisting,
15
لِجَمِيْعِ ظُلْمِيْ وَ جُرْمِي
lijamī`i ẓulmī wa jur-mī
from all my oppressions and my sins
16
وَ اِسْرَاْفِيْ عَلَى نَفْسِي
wa israfī `alā nafsī
and my excesses on my soul,
17
وَ اَتُوْبُ اِلَيْهِ
wa atūbu ilayh
and I turn [repentant] to Him
18
هٰذَا مَقَامُ الْعَائِذِ بِكَ مِنَ النَّارِ
hādhā maqāmul `ā-idhi bika minan nār
This is the position of one who seeks refuge in You from the fire [of Hell]
19
اَلْعَفْوَ
al `afw
[I ask for] forgiveness
20
رَبِّ اغْفِرْ لِيْ وَ ارْحَمْنِيْ وَ تُبْ عَلَيَّ
rabbighfir lī war-ḥamnī wa tub `alayy
Lord, forgive me and have mercy on me, and turn to me,
21
اِنَّكَ اَنْتَ التَّوَّابُ الرَّحِيْمُ
innaka antat tawwābur raḥīm
Surely You are the Oft-returning, the Merciful
