1
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ آدَمَ صَفْوَةِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā wāritha-ādama ṣafwatillāh
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Adam, the chosen one of Allah
2
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ نُوحٍ نَبِيِّ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā wāritha nūḥin nabiyyillāh
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Noah, the prophet of Allah
3
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ إِبْرَاهِيمَ خَلِيلِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā wāritha ibrāhīma khalīlillāh
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Abraham, the friend of Allah
4
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ مُوسٰى كَلِيمِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā wāritha mūsā kalīmillāh
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Moses, the one who spoke to Allah
5
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ عِيْسٰى رُوحِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā wāritha `īsā rūḥillāh
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Jesus, the spirit of Allah
6
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ مُحَمَّدٍ حَبِيبِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā wāritha muḥammadin ḥabībillāh
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Muhammad, the beloved of Allah
7
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ عَلِيٍّ أَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَلِيِّ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā wāritha `aliyyin amīril mu-minīna waliyyillāh
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Ali, the Commander of the Faithful, the friend of Allah
8
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَارِثَ الْحَسَنِ الشَّهِيدِ سِبْطِ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā wārithal ḥasanish shahīdi sibṭi rasūlillāh
Peace be upon you, O inheritor of Hasan, the martyr, the grandson of the Messenger of Allah
9
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yabna rasūlillāh
Peace be upon you, O son of the Messenger of Allah
10
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ الْبَشِيرِ النَّذِيرِ
as salāmu `alayka yabnal bashīrin nadhīr
Peace be upon you, O son of the bearer of good news and the warner
11
وَابْنَ سَيِّدِ الْوَصِيِّينَ
wabna sayyidil waṣiyyīn
And son of the master of successors
12
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ فَاطِمَةَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَاءِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
as salāmu `alayka yabna fāṭimata sayyidati nisā-il `ālamīn
Peace be upon you, O son of Fatima, the leader of the women of the worlds
13
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā abā `abdillāh
Peace be upon you, O Abu Abdullah
14
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خِيَرَةَ اللَّهِ وَابْنَ خِيَرَتِهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā khiyaratallāhi wabna khiyaratih
Peace be upon you, O chosen one of Allah and son of His chosen one
15
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ثَارَ اللَّهِ وَابْنَ ثَارِهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā thārallāhi wabna thārih
Peace be upon you, O the one whose blood will be avenged by Allah, and son of one whose blood will be avenged
16
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْوِتْرُ الْمَوْتُورُ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhal witrul mawtūr
Peace be upon you, O the unique one whose blood was shed
17
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْإِمَامُ الْهَادِيْ الزَّكِيَّ
as salāmu `alayka ayyuhal imāmul hādiz zakiyy
Peace be upon you, O guiding and pure Imam
18
وَعَلٰى أَرْوَاحٍ حَلَّتْ بِفِنَائِكَ وَأَقَامَتْ فِي جِوَارِكَ
wa`alā ar-wāḥin ḥallat bifinā-ika wa-aqāmat fī jiwārik
And upon the souls that resided in your courtyard and stayed in your vicinity
19
وَوَفَدَتْ مَعَ زُوَّارِكَ
wawafadat ma`a zuwwārik
And came with your visitors
20
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ مِنِّي مَا بَقِيتُ وَبَقِيَ اللَّيْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ
as salāmu `alayka minnī mā baqītu wabaqiyal laylu wan nahār
Peace be upon you from me as long as I live and as long as night and day remain
21
فَلَقَدْ عَظُمَتْ بِكَ الرَّزِيَّةُ
falaqad `aẓumat bikar raziyyah
For great is the calamity because of you
22
وَجَلَّ الْمُصَابُ فِيْ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ وَالْمُسْلِمِيْنَ
wajallal muṣābu fil mu-minīna walmuslimīn
And immense is the tragedy for the believers and Muslims
23
وَفِيْ أَهْلِ السَّمَاوَاتِ أَجْمَعِينَ
wafī ahlis samāwāti ajma`īn
And for all the inhabitants of the heavens
24
وَفِيْ سُكَّانِ الْأَرَضِينَ
wafī sukkānil araḍīn
And for the dwellers of the earths
25
فَإِنَّا لِلّٰهِ وَ إِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
fa-innā lillāhi wa innā ilayhi rāji`ūn
Indeed, we belong to Allah and to Him we shall return
26
وَصَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ وَتَحِيَّاتُهُ عَلَيْكَ
waṣalawātullāhi wabarakātuhu wataḥiyyātuhu `alayk
And may the blessings of Allah, His mercy, and His greetings be upon you
27
وَعَلٰى آبَائِكَ الطَّاهِرِينَ الطَّيِّبِينَ الْمُنْتَجَبِينَ
wa`alā-ābā-ikaṭ ṭāhirīnaṭ ṭayyibīnal muntajabīn
And upon your pure, good, and chosen forefathers
28
وَعَلٰى ذَرَارِيهِمُ الْهُدَاةِ الْمَهْدِيِّينَ
wa`alā dharārīhimul hudātil mahdiyyīn
And upon their guided and rightly-guided descendants
29
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَوْلاَيَ وَعَلَيْهِمْ
as salāmu `alayka yā mawlāya wa`alayhim
Peace be upon you, O my master, and upon them
30
وَعَلٰى رُوحِكَ وَعَلٰى أَرْوَاحِهِمْ
wa`alā rūḥika wa`alā ar-wāḥihim
And upon your soul and upon their souls
31
وَعَلٰى تُرْبَتِكَ وَعَلٰى تُرْبَتِهِمْ
wa`alā tur-batika wa`alā tur-batihim
And upon your soil and upon their soil
32
اَللّٰهُمَّ لَقِّهِمْ رَحْمَةً وَرِضْوَانًا
allāhumma laqqihim raḥmatan wariḍwānā
O Allah, grant them mercy and pleasure
33
وَرَوْحًا وَرَيْحَانًا
warawḥan warayḥānā
And comfort and fragrance
34
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مَوْلاَيَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā mawlāya yā abā `abdillāh
Peace be upon you, O my master, O Abu Abdullah
35
يَا ابْنَ خَاتَمِ النَّبِيِّينَ
yabna khātamin nabiyyīn
O son of the seal of the Prophets
36
وَ يَا ابْنَ سَيِّدِ الْوَصِيِّينَ
wa yabna sayyidil waṣiyyīn
And O son of the master of successors
37
وَ يَا ابْنَ سَيِّدَةِ نِسَاءِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
wa yabna sayyidati nisā-il `ālamīn
And O son of the leader of the women of the worlds
38
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا شَهِيدُ
as salāmu `alayka yā shahīd
Peace be upon you, O martyr
39
يَاابْنَ أَبَاالشُّهَدَاءِ
yabna abashhuhadā
O son of the father of martyrs
40
اَللّٰهُمَّ بَلِّغْهُ عَنِّيْ فِيْ هٰذِهِ السَّاعَةِ
allāhumma balligh-hu `annī fī hādhihis sā`ah
O Allah, convey from me to him in this hour
41
وَفِيْ هٰذَا الْيَوْمِ
wafī hādhal yawm
And on this day
42
وَفِيْ هٰذَا الْوَقْتِ
wafī hādhal waqt
And at this time
43
وَفِيْ كُلِّ وَقْتٍ
wafī kulli waqt
And at all times
44
تَحِيَّةً كَثِيرَةً وَسَلامًا
taḥiyyatan kathīratan wasalāmā
Abundant greetings and peace
45
سَلامُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكَ وَرَحْمَةُ اللَّهِ وَبَرَكَاتُهُ
salāmullāhi `alayka waraḥmatullāhi wabarakātuh
May the peace of Allah be upon you, and His mercy and His blessings
46
يَا ابْنَ سَيِّدِ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
yabna sayyidil `ālamīn
O son of the master of the worlds
47
وَعَلَى الْمُسْتَشْهَدِيْنَ مَعَكَ سَلامًا مُتَّصِلًا
wa`alal mustash-hadīna ma`aka salāman muttaṣilā
And upon those martyred with you, a continuous peace
48
مَا اتَّصَلَ اللَّيْلُ وَالنَّهَارُ
mattaṣalal laylu wan nahār
As long as night and day continue
49
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ بْنِ عَلِيٍّ الشَّهِيدِ
as salāmu `alal ḥusaynibni `aliyyinsh shahīd
Peace be upon Husayn, the son of Ali, the martyr
50
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى عَلِيِّ بْنِ الْحُسَيْنِ الشَّهِيدِ
as salāmu `alā `aliyyibnil ḥusaynish shahīd
Peace be upon Ali, the son of Husayn, the martyr
51
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الْعَبَّاسِ بْنِ أَمِيرِالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ الشَّهِيدِ
as salāmu `alal `abbāsibni amīril mu-minīnash shahīd
Peace be upon Abbas, the son of the Commander of the Faithful, the martyr
52
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الشُّهَدَاءِ مِنْ وُلْدِ أَمِيرِالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
as salāmu `alash shuhadā-i min wuldi amīril mu-minīn
Peace be upon the martyrs from the children of the Commander of the Faithful
53
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الشُّهَدَاءِ مِنْ وُلْدِ الْحَسَنِ
as salāmu `alash shuhadā-i min wuldil ḥasan
Peace be upon the martyrs from the children of Hasan
54
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الشُّهَدَاءِ مِنْ وُلْدِ الْحُسَيْنِ
as salāmu `alash shuhadā-i min wuldil ḥusayn
Peace be upon the martyrs from the children of Husayn
55
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَى الشُّهَدَاءِ مِنْ وُلْدِ جَعْفَرٍ وَعَقِيلٍ
as salāmu `alash shuhadā-i min wuldi ja`farin wa`aqīl
Peace be upon the martyrs from the children of Ja'far and Aqeel
56
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلٰى كُلِّ مُسْتَشْهَدٍ مَعَهُمْ مِنَ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
as salāmu `alā kulli mustash-hadin ma`ahum minal mu-minīn
Peace be upon every martyr who was with them from among the believers
57
اَللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلٰى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
58
وَبَلِّغْهُمْ عَنَّى تَحِيَّةً كَثِيرَةً وَسَلامًا
waballigh-hum `annā taḥiyyatan kathīratan wasalāmā
And convey to them from us abundant greetings and peace
59
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yā rasūlallāh
Peace be upon you, O Messenger of Allah
60
أَحْسَنَ اللَّهُ لَكَ الْعَزَاءَ فِيْ وَلَدِكَ الْحُسَيْنِ
aḥsanallāhu lakal `azā-a fī waladikal ḥusayn
May Allah grant you the best condolence for your son Husayn
61
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكِ يَا فَاطِمَةُ
as salāmu `alayki yā fāṭimah
Peace be upon you, O Fatima
62
أَحْسَنَ اللَّهُ لَكِ الْعَزَاءَ فِيْ وَلَدِكِ الْحُسَيْنِ
aḥsanallāhu lakil `azā-a fī waladikil ḥusayn
May Allah grant you the best condolence for your son Husayn
63
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَمِيرَالْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
as salāmu `alayka yā amīralmu-minīn
Peace be upon you, O Commander of the Faithful
64
أَحْسَنَ اللَّهُ لَكَ الْعَزَاءَ فِيْ وَلَدِكَ الْحُسَيْنِ
aḥsanallāhu lakal `azā-a fī waladikal ḥusayn
May Allah grant you the best condolence for your son Husayn
65
اَلسَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا أَبَا مُحَمَّدٍ الْحَسَنَ
as salāmu `alayka yā abā muḥammadinil ḥasan
Peace be upon you, O Abu Muhammad al-Hasan
66
أَحْسَنَ اللَّهُ لَكَ الْعَزَاءَ فِيْ أَخِيْكَ الْحُسَيْنِ
aḥsanallāhu lakal `azā-a fī akhīkal ḥusayn
May Allah grant you the best condolence for your brother Husayn
67
يَا مَوْلاَيَ يَا أَبَا عَبْدِ اللَّهِ
yā mawlāya yā abā `abdillāh
O my master, O Abu Abdullah
68
أَنَا ضَيْفُ اللَّهِ وَضَيْفُكَ
anā ḍayfullāhi waḍayfuk
I am the guest of Allah and your guest
69
وَجَارُ اللَّهِ وَجَارُكَ
wajārullāhi wajāruk
And the neighbor of Allah and your neighbor
70
وَ لِكُلِّ ضَيْفٍ وَجَارٍ قِرًى
wa likulli ḍayfin wajārin qirā
And for every guest and neighbor there is hospitality
71
وَقِرَايَ فِيْ هٰذَا الْوَقْتِ
waqirāya fī hādhal waqt
And my hospitality at this time
72
أَنْ تَسْأَلَ اللّٰهَ سُبْحَانَهُ وَتَعَالَىٰ
an tas-alallāha subḥānahu wata`ālā
Is that you ask Allah, the Glorified and Exalted
73
أَنْ يَرْزُقَنِيْ فَكَاكَ رَقَبَتِيْ مِنَ النَّارِ
an yar-zuqanī fakāka raqabatī minan nār
To grant me freedom from the Fire
74
إِنَّهُ سَمِيعُ الدُّعَاءِ قَرِيبٌ مُجِيبٌ
innahu samī`ud du`ā-i qarībun mujīb
Indeed, He is the Hearer of prayers, Near, Responsive
