بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
1
إِلٰهِيْ كَمْ مِنْ عَدُوٍّ
ilāhī kam min `aduww
My God, how many enemies
2
انْتَضىٰ عَلَيَّ سَيْفَ عَدَاوَتِهِ
ntaḍā `alayya sayfa `adāwatih
have drawn against me the sword of their enmity
3
وَشَحَذَ لِيْ ظُبَةَ مِدْيَتِهِ
washaḥadha lī ẓubata midyatih
and sharpened for me the blade of their knives
4
وَأَرْهَفَ لِيْ شَبَا حَدِّهِ
wa-ar-hafa lī shabā ḥaddih
and honed for me the edge of their swords
5
وَدَافَ لِيْ قَوَاتِلَ سُمُومِهِ
wadāfa lī qawātila sumūmih
and mixed for me deadly poisons
6
وَسَدَّدَ إِلَيَّ صَوَائِبَ سِهَامِهِ
wasaddada ilayya ṣawā-iba sihāmih
and aimed at me their accurate arrows
7
وَلَمْ تَنَمْ عَنِّيْ عَيْنُ حِرَاسَتِهِ
walam tanam `annī `aynu ḥirāsatih
while their watchful eyes never slept
8
وَأَضْمَرَ أَنْ يَسُومَنِيْ الْمَكْرُوهَ
wa-aḍmara an yasūmanil makrūh
and they intended to subject me to hardship
9
وَيُجَرِّعَنِيْ ذُعَافَ مَرَارَتِهِ
wayujarri`anī dhu`āfa marāratih
and make me drink the poison of their bitterness
10
فَنَظَرْتَ إِلٰى ضَعْفِيْ عَنِ احْتِمَالِ الْفَوَادِحِ
fanaẓar-ta ilā ḍa`fī `aniḥtimālil fawādiḥ
You saw my weakness in bearing such calamities
11
وَعَجْزِيْ عَنِ الْإِنْتِصَارِ مِمَّنْ قَصَدَنِيْ بِمُحَارَبَتِهِ
wa`ajzī `anil intiṣāri mimman qaṣadanī bimuḥārabatih
and my inability to defend myself against those who sought to wage war against me
12
وَوَحْدَتِيْ فِيْ كَثِيرٍ مِمَّنْ نَاوَانِيْ وَأَرْصَدَ لِيْ
wawaḥdatī fī kathīrin mimman nāwānī wa-ar-ṣada lī
and my solitude against the many who opposed me and laid in wait for me
13
فِيمَا لَمْ أُعْمِلْ فِكْرِيْ فِيْ الْإِرْصَادِ لَهُمْ بِمِثْلِهِ
fīmā lam u`mil fikrī fil ir-ṣādi lahum bimithlih
in matters where I had not even thought of preparing similar traps for them
14
فَأَيَّدْتَنِيْ بِقُوَّتِكَ
fa-ayyadtanī biquwwatik
So You strengthened me with Your power
15
وَشَدَدْتَ أَزْرِيْ بِنُصْرَتِكَ
washadadta azrī binuṣratik
and supported me with Your help
16
وَفَلَلْتَ لِيْ حَدَّهُ
wafalalta lī ḥaddah
and blunted their blade for me
17
وَخَذَلْتَهُ بَعْدَ جَمْعِ عَدِيْدِهِ وَحَشَدِهِ
wakhadhaltahu ba`da jam`i `adīdihi waḥashadih
and abandoned him after he had gathered his numbers and mobilized
18
وَأَعْلَيْتَ كَعْبِىْ عَلَيْهِ
wa-a`layta ka`bī `alayh
and raised my position above his
19
وَوَجَّهْتَ مَا سَدَّدَ إِلَيَّ مِنْ مَكَائِدِهِ إِلَيْهِ
wawajjahta mā saddada ilayya min makā-idihi ilayh
and turned the plots he aimed at me back upon him
20
وَرَدَدْتَهُ عَلَيْهِ
waradadtahu `alayh
and sent it back to him
21
وَلَمْ يَشْفِ غَلِيلَهُ
walam yashfi ghalīlah
so his anger was not quenched
22
وَلَمْ تَبْرُدْ حَزَازَاتُ غَيْظِهِ
walam tabrud ḥazāzātu ghayẓih
and the burning of his rage did not cool
23
وَقَدْ عَضَّ عَلَيَّ أَنَامِلَهُ
waqad `aḍḍa `alayya anāmilah
and he bit his fingertips in rage against me
24
وَأَدْبَرَ مُوَلِّيًا قَدْ أَخْفَقَتْ سَرَايَاهُ
wa-adbara muwalliyan qad akhfaqat sarāyāh
and retreated in defeat after his raids had failed
25
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا رَبِّ
falakal ḥamdu yā rabb
So to You is all praise, O my Lord
26
مِنْ مُقْتَدِرٍ لَايُغْلَبُ
min muqtadirin lāyughlab
You are the Almighty who cannot be defeated
27
وَذِيْ أَنَاةٍ لَايَعْجَلُ
wadhī anātin lāya`jal
and the Patient who does not hurry
28
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
29
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ لِنَعْمَائِكَ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ
waj`alnī lina`mā-ika minash shākirīn
and make me among those who are grateful for Your blessings
30
وَلِآلاَئِكَ مِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ
wali-ālā-ika minadh dhākirīn
and among those who remember Your favors
31
إِلٰهِيْ وَكَمْ مِنْ بَاغٍ
ilāhī wakam min bāgh
My God, how many oppressors
32
بَغَانِيْ بِمَكَائِدِهِ
baghānī bimakā-idih
who oppressed me with their plots
33
وَنَصَبَ لِيْ أَشْرَاكَ مَصَائِدِهِ
wanaṣaba lī ashrāka maṣā-idih
and set up for me the snares of their traps
34
وَوَكَّلَ بِىْ تَفَقُّدَ رِعَايَتِهِ
wawakkala bī tafaqquda ri`āyatih
and entrusted to me the watchfulness of their care
35
وَأَضْبَأَ إِلَيَّ إِضْبَاءَ السَّبُعِ لِطَرِيدَتِهِ
wa-aḍba-a ilayya iḍbā-as sabu`i liṭarīdatih
and crouched for me as a predator for its prey
36
اِنْتِظَارًا لِانْتِهَازِ فُرْصَتِهِ
intiẓāran lintihāzi fur-ṣatih
waiting to seize an opportunity
37
وَهُوَ يُظْهِرُ بَشَاشَةَ الْمَلَقِ
wahuwa yuẓhiru bashāshatal malaq
while showing a cheerful face of flattery
38
وَيَبْسُطُ وَجْهًا غَيْرَ طَلِقٍ
wayabsuṭu wajhan ghayra ṭaliq
and displaying a face that was not open and bright
39
فَلَمَّا رَأَيْتَ دَغَلَ سَرِيرَتِهِ
falammā ra-ayta daghala sarīratih
But when You saw the deceit in his secret thoughts
40
وَقُبْحَ مَا انْطَوٰى عَلَيْهِ لِشَرِيكِهِ فِيْ مِلَّتِهِ
waqubḥa manṭawā `alayhi lisharīkihi fī millatih
and the ugliness of what he concealed against his partner in faith
41
وَأَصْبَحَ مُجْلِبًا لِيْ فِيْ بَغْيِهِ
wa-aṣbaḥa mujliban lī fī baghyih
and he openly rushed toward me in his oppression
42
أَرْكَسْتَهُ لِأُمِّ رَأْسِهِ
ar-kastahu li-ummi ra-sih
You threw him headfirst
43
وَأَتَيْتَ بُنْيَانَهُ مِنْ أَسَاسِهِ
wa-atayta bunyānahu min asāsih
and destroyed his structure from its foundation
44
فَصَرَعْتَهُ فِيْ زُبْيَتِهِ
faṣara`tahu fī zubyatih
and You threw him into his own pit
45
وَرَدَّيْتَهُ فِيْ مَهْوٰى حُفْرَتِهِ
waraddaytahu fī mahwā ḥufratih
and hurled him into the abyss of his own pit
46
وَجَعَلْتَ خَدَّهُ طَبَقًا لِتُرَابِ رِجْلِهِ
waja`alta khaddahu ṭabaqan liturābi rijlih
and made his cheek a layer for the dust under his foot
47
وَشَغَلْتَهُ فِيْ بَدَنِهِ وَرِزْقِهِ
washaghaltahu fī badanihi warizqih
and occupied him with his body and livelihood
48
وَرَمَيْتَهُ بِحَجَرِهِ
waramaytahu biḥajarih
and You hit him with his own stone
49
وَخَنَقْتَهُ بِوَتَرِهِ
wakhanaqtahu biwatarih
and strangled him with his own bowstring
50
وَذَكَّيْتَهُ بِمَشَاقِصِهِ
wadhakkaytahu bimashāqiṣih
and slaughtered him with his own arrows
51
وَكَبَبْتَهُ لِمَنْخِرِهِ
wakababtahu limankhirih
and threw him on his face
52
وَرَدَدْتَ كَيْدَهُ فِيْ نَحْرِهِ
waradadta kaydahu fī naḥrih
and returned his plot to his own throat
53
وَرَبَقْتَهُ بِنَدَامَتِهِ
warabaqtahu binadāmatih
and bound him with his own regret
54
وَفَسَأْتَهُ بِحَسْرَتِهِ
wafasa-tahu biḥasratih
and disgraced him with his own disappointment
55
فَاسْتَخْذَأَ وَتَضَاءَلَ بَعْدَ نَخْوَتِهِ
fastakhdha-a wataḍā-ala ba`da nakhwatih
so he became humiliated and diminished after his arrogance
56
وَانْقَمَعَ بَعْدَ اسْتِطَالَتِهِ
wanqama`a ba`dastiṭālatih
and subdued after his haughtiness
57
ذَلِيْلًا مَأْسُورًا فِيْ رِبْقِ حِبَالَتِهِ
dhalīlan ma-sūran fī ribqi ḥibālatih
humiliated and captive in the noose of his own trap
58
اَلَّتِيْ كَانَ يُؤَمِّلُ أَنْ يَرَانِيْ فِيهَا يَوْمَ سَطْوَتِهِ
al latī kāna yu-ammilu an yarānī fīhā yawma saṭwatih
which he had hoped to see me in on the day of his assault
59
وَقَدْ كِدْتُ يَا رَبِّ لَوْلَا رَحْمَتُكَ
waqad kidtu yā rabbi lawlā raḥmatuk
And I would have, O Lord, if not for Your mercy
60
أَنْ يَحُلَّ بِىْ مَا حَلَّ بِسَاحَتِهِ
an yaḥulla bī mā ḥalla bisāḥatih
been afflicted with what befell him
61
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا رَبِّ
falakal ḥamdu yā rabb
So to You is all praise, O my Lord
62
مِنْ مُقْتَدِرٍ لَا يُغْلَبُ
min muqtadirin lā yughlab
You are the Almighty who cannot be defeated
63
وَذِيْ أَنَاةٍ لَايَعْجَلُ
wadhī anātin lāya`jal
and the Patient who does not hurry
64
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
65
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ لِنَعْمَائِكَ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ
waj`alnī lina`mā-ika minash shākirīn
and make me among those who are grateful for Your blessings
66
وَلِآلاَئِكَ مِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ
wali-ālā-ika minadh dhākirīn
and among those who remember Your favors
67
إِلٰهِيْ وَكَمْ مِنْ حَاسِدٍ شَرِقَ بِحَسْرَتِهِ
ilāhī wakam min ḥāsidin shariqa biḥasratih
My God, how many envious ones who choked on their sorrow
68
وَعَدُوٍّ شَجِيَ بِغَيْظِهِ
wa`aduwwin shajiya bighayẓih
and enemies who were distressed with their rage
69
وَسَلَقَنِيْ بِحَدِّ لِسَانِهِ
wasalaqanī biḥaddi lisānih
and lashed me with their sharp tongues
70
وَوَخَزَنِيْ بِمُوقِ عَيْنِهِ
wawakhazanī bimūqi `aynih
and pierced me with the glances of their eyes
71
وَجَعَلَنِيْ غَرَضًا لِمَرَامِيهِ
waja`alanī gharaḍan limarāmīh
and made me a target for their arrows
72
وَقَلَّدَنِيْ خِلالًا لَمْ تَزَلْ فِيهِ
waqalladanī khilālan lam tazal fīh
and attributed to me flaws that were always within them
73
نَادَيْتُكَ يَا رَبِّ مُسْتَجِيرًا بِكَ
nādaytuka yā rabbi mustajīran bik
I called upon You, O Lord, seeking Your protection
74
وَاثِقًا بِسُرْعَةِ إِجَابَتِكَ
wāthiqan bisur-`ati ijābatik
confident in the swiftness of Your response
75
مُتَوَكِّلًا عَلَى مَا لَمْ أَزَلْ أَتَعَرَّفُهُ
mutawakkilan `alā mā lam azal ata`arrafuh
relying on what I have always known
76
مِنْ حُسْنِ دِفَاعِكَ
min ḥusni difā`ik
of Your excellent defense
77
عَالِمًا أَنَّهُ لَايُضْطَهَدُ مَنْ أَوٰى إِلٰى ظِلِّ كَنَفِكَ
`āliman annahu lāyuḍṭahadu man awā ilā ẓilli kanafik
knowing that whoever seeks refuge in the shade of Your protection cannot be persecuted
78
وَلَنْ تَقْرَعَ الْحَوَادِثُ مَنْ لَجَأَ إِلٰى مَعْقِلِ الْإِنْتِصَارِ بِكَ
walan taqra`al ḥawādithu man laja-a ilā ma`qilil intiṣāri bik
and calamities will never strike one who has taken refuge in the fortress of seeking Your help
79
فَحَصَّنْتَنِيْ مِنْ بَأْسِهِ بِقُدْرَتِكَ
faḥaṣṣantanī min ba-sihi biqudratik
So You protected me from his harm by Your power
80
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا رَبِّ
falakal ḥamdu yā rabb
So to You is all praise, O my Lord
81
مِنْ مُقْتَدِرٍ لَايُغْلَبُ
min muqtadirin lāyughlab
You are the Almighty who cannot be defeated
82
وَذِيْ أَنَاةٍ لَايَعْجَلُ
wadhī anātin lāya`jal
and the Patient who does not hurry
83
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
84
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ لِنَعْمَائِكَ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ
waj`alnī lina`mā-ika minash shākirīn
and make me among those who are grateful for Your blessings
85
وَلِآلاَئِكَ مِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ
wali-ālā-ika minadh dhākirīn
and among those who remember Your favors
86
إِلٰهِيْ وَكَمْ مِنْ سَحَائِبِ مَكْرُوهٍ جَلَّيْتَهَا
ilāhī wakam min saḥā-ibi makrūhin jallaytahā
My God, how many clouds of misfortune You have cleared away
87
وَسَمَاءِ نِعْمَةٍ مَطَرْتَهَا
wasamā-i ni`matin maṭar-tahā
and skies of blessing You have rained down
88
وَجَدَاوِلِ كَرَامَةٍ أَجْرَيْتَهَا
wajadāwili karāmatin ajraytahā
and streams of honor You have made flow
89
وَأَعْيُنِ أَحْدَاثٍ طَمَسْتَهَا
wa-a`yuni aḥdāthin ṭamastahā
and eyes of calamities You have blinded
90
وَنَاشِئَةِ رَحْمَةٍ نَشَرْتَهَا
wanāshi-ati raḥmatin nashar-tahā
and mercies You have spread
91
وَجُنَّةِ عَافِيَةٍ أَلْبَسْتَهَا
wajunnati `āfiyatin albastahā
and shields of well-being You have clothed me with
92
وَغَوَامِرِ كُرُبَاتٍ كَشَفْتَهَا
waghawāmiri kurubātin kashaftahā
and overwhelming distresses You have removed
93
وَأُمُورٍ جَارِيَةٍ قَدَّرْتَهَا
wa-umūrin jāriyatin qaddar-tahā
and matters in progress You have ordained
94
لَمْ تُعْجِزْكَ إِذْ طَلَبْتَهَا
lam tu`jizka idh ṭalabtahā
that did not frustrate You when You sought them
95
وَلَمْ تَمْتَنِعْ مِنْكَ إِذْ أَرَدْتَهَا
walam tamtani` minka idh aradtahā
and did not resist You when You willed them
96
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا رَبِّ
falakal ḥamdu yā rabb
So to You is all praise, O my Lord
97
مِنْ مُقْتَدِرٍ لَايُغْلَبُ
min muqtadirin lāyughlab
You are the Almighty who cannot be defeated
98
وَذِيْ أَنَاةٍ لَايَعْجَلُ
wadhī anātin lāya`jal
and the Patient who does not hurry
99
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
100
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ لِنَعْمَائِكَ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ
waj`alnī lina`mā-ika minash shākirīn
and make me among those who are grateful for Your blessings
101
وَلِآلاَئِكَ مِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ
wali-ālā-ika minadh dhākirīn
and among those who remember Your favors
102
إِلٰهِيْ وَكَمْ مِنْ ظَنٍّ حَسَنٍ حَقَّقْتَ
ilāhī wakam min ẓannin ḥasanin ḥaqqaqt
My God, how many good opinions You have confirmed
103
وَمِنْ كَسْرِ إِمْلاَقٍ جَبَرْتَ
wamin kasri imlāqin jabar-t
and how much crushing poverty You have mended
104
وَمِنْ مَسْكَنَةٍ فَادِحَةٍ حَوَّلْتَ
wamin maskanatin fādiḥatin ḥawwalt
and how much crushing misery You have transformed
105
وَمِنْ صَرْعَةٍ مُهْلِكَةٍ نَعَشْتَ
wamin ṣar-`atin muhlikatin na`asht
and how many deadly falls You have helped me rise from
106
وَمِنْ مَشَقَّةٍ أَرَحْتَ
wamin mashaqqatin araḥt
and how much hardship You have relieved
107
لَاتُسْأَلُ عَمَّا تَفْعَلُ
lātus-alu `ammā taf`al
You are not questioned about what You do
108
وَهُمْ يُسْأَلُونَ
wahum yus-alūn
but they are questioned
109
وَلَا يَنْقُصُكَ مَا أَنْفَقْتَ
walā yanquṣuka mā anfaqt
and what You have spent does not diminish You
110
وَلَقَدْ سُئِلْتَ فَأَعْطَيْتَ
walaqad su-ilta fa-a`ṭayt
You have been asked and You have given
111
وَلَمْ تُسْأَلْ فَابْتَدَأْتَ
walam tus-al fabtada-t
and without being asked, You initiated
112
وَاسْتُمِيحَ بَابُ فَضْلِكَ فَمَا أَكْدَيْتَ
wastumīḥa bābu faḍlika famā akdayt
and when the door of Your grace was asked for, You did not withhold
113
أَبَيْتَ إِلَّا إِنْعَامًا وَامْتِنَانًا
abayta illā in`āman wamtinānā
You refuse except to bestow blessings and favors
114
وَإِلَّا تَطَوُّلًا يَا رَبِّ وَإِحْسَانًا
wa-illā taṭawwulan yā rabbi wa-iḥsānā
and except to show generosity, O Lord, and goodness
115
وَأَبَيْتُ إِلَّا انْتِهَاكًا لِحُرُمَاتِكَ
wa-abaytu illantihākan liḥurumātik
And I have refused except to violate Your sanctities
116
وَاجْتِرَاءً عَلَى مَعَاصِيكَ
wajtirā-an `alā ma`āṣīk
and to be bold in disobeying You
117
وَتَعَدِيًّا لِحُدُودِكَ
wata`adiyyan liḥudūdik
and to transgress Your limits
118
وَغَفْلَةً عَنْ وَعِيدِكَ
waghaflatan `an wa`īdik
and to be heedless of Your warnings
119
وَطَاعَةً لِعَدُوِّي وَعَدُوِّكَ
waṭā`atan li`aduwwī wa`aduwwik
and to obey my enemy and Your enemy
120
لَمْ يَمْنَعْكَ يَا إِلٰهِيْ وَنَاصِرِيْ إِخْلاَلِيْ بِالشُّكْرِ
lam yamna`ka yā ilāhī wanāṣirī ikhlālī bishhukr
Yet, O my God and my Helper, my failure to express gratitude
121
عَنْ إِتْمَامِ إِحْسَانِكَ
`an itmāmi iḥsānik
did not prevent You from completing Your favor
122
وَلَا حَجَزَنِيْ ذٰلِكَ عَنِ ارْتِكَابِ مَسَاخِطِكَ
walā ḥajazanī dhālika `anir-tikābi masākhiṭik
nor did that prevent me from committing what displeases You
123
اَللّٰهُمَّ وَهٰذَا مَقَامُ عَبْدٍ ذَلِيلٍ
allāhumma wahādhā maqāmu `abdin dhalīl
O Allah, this is the position of a humble servant
124
اِعْتَرَفَ لَكَ بِالتَّوْحِيدِ
i`tarafa laka bittawḥīd
who acknowledges Your Oneness
125
وَأَقَرَّ عَلَى نَفْسِهِ بِالتَّقْصِيرِ فِيْ أَدَاءِ حَقِّكَ
wa-aqarra `alā nafsihi bittaqṣīri fī adā-i ḥaqqik
and confesses his negligence in fulfilling Your right
126
وَشَهِدَ لَكَ بِسُبُوغِ نِعْمَتِكَ عَلَيْهِ
washahida laka bisubūghi ni`matika `alayh
and bears witness to the abundance of Your blessings upon him
127
وَجَمِيلِ عَادَتِكَ عِنْدَهُ
wajamīli `ādatika `indah
and Your beautiful habit with him
128
وَإِحْسَانِكَ إِلَيْهِ
wa-iḥsānika ilayh
and Your goodness to him
129
فَهَبْ لِيْ يَا إِلٰهِيْ وَسَيِّدِيْ مِنْ فَضْلِكَ
fahab lī yā ilāhī wasayyidī min faḍlik
So grant me, O my God and my Master, from Your grace
130
مَا أُرِيدُهُ إِلٰى رَحْمَتِكَ
mā urīduhu ilā raḥmatik
what will lead me to Your mercy
131
وَأَتَّخِذُهُ سُلَّمًا أَعْرُجُ فِيهِ إِلٰى مَرْضَاتِكَ
wa-attakhidhuhu sullaman a`ruju fīhi ilā mar-ḍātik
and what I can take as a ladder to climb to Your pleasure
132
وَ آمَنُ بِهِ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ
wa āmanu bihi min sakhaṭik
and be safe from Your wrath
133
بِعِزَّتِكَ وَطَوْلِكَ
bi`izzatika waṭawlik
by Your might and Your power
134
وَبِحَقِّ نَبِيِّكَ مُحَمَّدٍ
wabiḥaqqi nabiyyika muḥammad
and by the right of Your Prophet Muhammad
135
صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَ آلِهِ
ṣallallāhu `alayhi wa ālih
may Allah's blessings be upon him and his family
136
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا رَبِّ
falakal ḥamdu yā rabb
So to You is all praise, O my Lord
137
مِنْ مُقْتَدِرٍ لَايُغْلَبُ
min muqtadirin lāyughlab
You are the Almighty who cannot be defeated
138
وَذِيْ أَنَاةٍ لَايَعْجَلُ
wadhī anātin lāya`jal
and the Patient who does not hurry
139
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
140
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ لِنَعْمَائِكَ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ
waj`alnī lina`mā-ika minash shākirīn
and make me among those who are grateful for Your blessings
141
وَلِآلاَئِكَ مِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ
wali-ālā-ika minadh dhākirīn
and among those who remember Your favors
142
إِلٰهِيْ وَكَمْ مِنْ عَبْدٍ
ilāhī wakam min `abd
My God, how many servants
143
أَمْسٰى وَأَصْبَحَ فِيْ كَرْبِ الْمَوْتِ
amsā wa-aṣbaḥa fī kar-bil mawt
who evening and morning are in the agony of death
144
وَحَشْرَجَةِ الصَّدْرِ
waḥashrajatiṣ ṣadr
and the rattling of the chest
145
وَالنَّظَرِ إِلٰى مَا تَقْشَعِرُّ مِنْهُ الْجُلُودُ
wan naẓari ilā mā taqsha`irru minhul julūd
and looking at what makes the skin shudder
146
وَتَفْزَعُ لَهُ الْقُلُوبُ
watafza`u lahul qulūb
and terrifies the hearts
147
وَأَنَا فِيْ عَافِيَةٍ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ كُلِّهِ
wa-ana fī `āfiyatin min dhālika kullih
while I am in well-being from all of that
148
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا رَبِّ
falakal ḥamdu yā rabb
So to You is all praise, O my Lord
149
مِنْ مُقْتَدِرٍ لَايُغْلَبُ
min muqtadirin lāyughlab
You are the Almighty who cannot be defeated
150
وَذِيْ أَنَاةٍ لَايَعْجَلُ
wadhī anātin lāya`jal
and the Patient who does not hurry
151
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad

and among those who remember Your favors

إِلٰهِيْ وَكَمْ مِنْ عَبْدٍ
ilāhī wakam min `abd
My God, how many servants
155
أَمْسٰى وَأَصْبَحَ سَقِيْمًا مُوْجِعًا
amsā wa-aṣbaḥa saqīman mūji`ā
who evening and morning are sick and in pain
156
فِيْ أَنَّةٍ وَعَوِيْلٍ
fī annatin wa`awīl
moaning and wailing
157
يَتَقَلَّبُ فِيْ غَمِّهِ
yataqallabu fī ghammih
tossing in their sorrow
158
لَا يَجِدُ مَحِيصًا
lā yajidu maḥīṣā
finding no escape
159
وَلَا يُسِيغُ طَعَامًا وَلَا شَرَابًا
walā yusīghu ṭa`āman walā sharābā
unable to enjoy food or drink
160
وَأَنَا فِيْ صِحَّةٍ مِنَ الْبَدَنِ
wa-ana fī ṣiḥḥatin minal badan
while I am in good health
161
وَسَلامَةٍ مِنَ الْعَيْشِ
wasalāmatin minal `aysh
and safety in my life
162
كُلُّ ذٰلِكَ مِنْكَ
kullu dhālika mink
all of this is from You
163
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا رَبِّ
falakal ḥamdu yā rabb
So to You is all praise, O my Lord
164
مِنْ مُقْتَدِرٍ لَايُغْلَبُ
min muqtadirin lāyughlab
You are the Almighty who cannot be defeated
165
وَذِيْ أَنَاةٍ لَايَعْجَلُ
wadhī anātin lāya`jal
and the Patient who does not hurry
166
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad

167
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ لِنَعْمَائِكَ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ
waj`alnī lina`mā-ika minash shākirīn
and make me among those who are grateful for Your blessings

وَلِآلاَئِكَ مِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ
wali-ālā-ika minadh dhākirīn
and among those who remember Your favors
169
إِلٰهِيْ وَكَمْ مِنْ عَبْدٍ
ilāhī wakam min `abd
My God, how many servants
170
أَمْسٰى وَأَصْبَحَ خَائِفًا مَرْعُوبًا
amsā wa-aṣbaḥa khā-ifan mar-`ūbā
who evening and morning are fearful and terrified
171
مُشْفِقًا وَجِلًا
mushfiqan wajilā
anxious and apprehensive
172
هَارِبًا طَرِيدًا
hāriban ṭarīdā
running and fleeing
173
مُنْجَحِرًا فِيْ مَضِيقٍ
munjaḥiran fī maḍīq
hiding in tight places
174
وَمَخْبَأَةٍ مِنَ الْمَخَابِيَ
wamakhba-atin minal makhābiy
and hiding places among hideouts
175
قَدْ ضَاقَتْ عَلَيْهِ الْأَرْضُ بِرُحْبِهَا
qad ḍāqat `alayhil ar-ḍu biruḥbihā
for whom the earth has become narrow despite its vastness
176
لَايَجِدُ حِيْلَةً
lāyajidu ḥīlah
finding no strategy
177
وَلَا مَنْجٰى وَلَا مَأْوٰى
walā manjā walā ma-wā
no escape and no shelter
178
وَأَنَا فِيْ أَمْنٍ وَطُمَأْنِيْنَةٍ وَعَافِيَةٍ
wa-ana fī amnin waṭuma-nīnatin wa`āfiyah
while I am in security, tranquility, and well-being
179
مِنْ ذٰلِكَ كُلِّهِ
min dhālika kullih
from all of that
180
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا رَبِّ
falakal ḥamdu yā rabb
So to You is all praise, O my Lord
181
مِنْ مُقْتَدِرٍ لَا يُغْلَبُ
min muqtadirin lā yughlab
You are the Almighty who cannot be defeated
182
وَذِيْ أَنَاةٍ لَايَعْجَلُ
wadhī anātin lāya`jal
and the Patient who does not hurry
183
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad

وَاجْعَلْنِيْ لِنَعْمَائِكَ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ

and make me among those who are grateful for Your blessings

وَلِآلَائِكَ مِنَ الذَّاكِرِيْنَ
wali-ālā-ika minadh dhākirīn
and among those who remember Your favors

إِلٰهِيْ وَسَيِّدِيْ
ilāhī wasayyidī
My God and my Master
187
وَكَمْ مِنْ عَبْدٍ
wakam min `abd
how many servants
188
أَمْسٰى وَأَصْبَحَ مَغْلُوْلًا
amsā wa-aṣbaḥa maghlūlā
who evening and morning are in chains
189
مُكَبَّلًا فِيْ الْحَدِيْدِ
mukabbalan fil ḥadīd
fettered in iron
190
بِأَيْدِيْ الْعُدَاةِ لَايَرْحَمُوْنَهُ
bi-aydil `udāti lāyar-ḥamūnah
in the hands of enemies who show no mercy
191
فَقِيْدًا مِنْ أَهْلِهِ وَوَلَدِهِ
faqīdan min ahlihi wawaladih
separated from their family and children
192
مُنْقَطِعًا عَنْ إِخْوَانِهِ وَبَلَدِهِ
munqaṭi`an `an ikhwānihi wabaladih
cut off from their brothers and homeland
193
يَتَوَقَّعُ كُلَّ سَاعَةٍ بِأَيِّ قِتْلَةٍ يُقْتَلُ
yatawaqqa`u kulla sā`atin bi-ayyi qitlatin yuqtal
expecting each hour by which method they will be killed
194
وَبِأَيِّ مُثْلَةٍ يُمَثَّلُ بِهِ
wabi-ayyi muthlatin yumathhalu bih
and by which form of mutilation they will be disfigured
195
وَأَنَا فِيْ عَافِيَةٍ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ كُلِّهِ
wa-ana fī `āfiyatin min dhālika kullih
while I am in well-being from all of that
196
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا رَبِّ
falakal ḥamdu yā rabb
So to You is all praise, O my Lord
197
مِنْ مُقْتَدِرٍ لَايُغْلَبُ
min muqtadirin lāyughlab
You are the Almighty who cannot be defeated
198
وَذِيْ أَنَاةٍ لَايَعْجَلُ

and the Patient who does not hurry

وَلِآلاَئِكَ مِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ
wali-ālā-ika minadh dhākirīn
and among those who remember Your favors

إِلٰهِيْ وَكَمْ مِنْ عَبْدٍ
ilāhī wakam min `abd
My God, how many servants
203
أَمْسٰى وَأَصْبَحَ يُقَاسِيْ الْحَرْبَ
amsā wa-aṣbaḥa yuqāsil ḥar-b
who evening and morning endure warfare
204
وَمُبَاشَرَةَ الْقِتَالِ بِنَفْسِهِ
wamubāsharatal qitāli binafsih
and face combat themselves
205
قَدْ غَشِيَتْهُ الْأَعْدَاءُ مِنْ كُلِّ جَانِبٍ
qad ghashiyat-hul a`dā-u min kulli jānib
surrounded by enemies from every side
206
بِالسُّيُوفِ وَالرِّمَاحِ وَ آلَةِ الْحَرْبِ
bissuyūfi war rimāḥi wa ālatil ḥar-b
with swords, spears, and instruments of war
207
يَتَقَعْقَعُ فِيْ الْحَدِيْدِ
yataqa`qa`u fil ḥadīd
rattling in armor
208
قَدْ بَلَغَ مَجْهُودَهُ
qad balagha majhūdah
having reached their utmost effort
209
لَايَعْرِفُ حِيْلَةً
lāya`rifu ḥīlah
knowing no strategy
210
وَلَا يَجِدُ مَهْرَبًا
walā yajidu mahrabā
and finding no escape
211
قَدْ أُدْنِفَ بِالْجِرَاحَاتِ
qad udnifa bil jirāḥāt
weakened by wounds
212
أَوْ مُتَشَحِّطًا بِدَمِهِ
aw mutashaḥḥiṭan bidamih
or wallowing in their blood
213
تَحْتَ السَّنَابِكِ وَالْأَرْجُلِ
taḥtas sanābiki wal-ar-jul
beneath hooves and feet
214
يَتَمَنَّىٰ شَرْبَةً مِنْ مَاءٍ
yatamannā shar-batan min ma
wishing for a drink of water
215
أَوْ نَظْرَةً إِلٰى أَهْلِهِ وَوَلَدِهِ
aw naẓratan ilā ahlihi wawaladih
or a glimpse of their family and children
216
لَا يَقْدِرُ عَلَيْهَا
lā yaqdiru `alayhā
unable to do so
217
وَأَنَا فِيْ عَافِيَةٍ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ كُلِّهِ
wa-ana fī `āfiyatin min dhālika kullih
while I am in well-being from all of that
218
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا رَبِّ
falakal ḥamdu yā rabb
So to You is all praise, O my Lord
219

My God, how many servants

أَمْسٰى وَأَصْبَحَ فِيْ ظُلُمَاتِ الْبِحَارِ
amsā wa-aṣbaḥa fī ẓulumātil biḥār
who evening and morning are in the darkness of the seas
226
وَعَوَاصِفِ الرِّيَاحِ
wa`awāṣifir riyāḥ
and the raging winds
227
وَالْأَهْوَالِ وَالْأَمْوَاجِ
wal-ahwāli wal-amwāj
and terrors and waves
228
يَتَوَقَّعُ الْغَرَقَ وَالْهَلاكَ
yatawaqqa`ul gharaqa walhalāk
expecting drowning and destruction
229
لَايَقْدِرُ عَلَى حِيْلَةٍ
lāyaqdiru `alā ḥīlah
unable to find any means of escape
230
أَوْ مُبْتَلًى بِصَاعِقَةٍ
aw mubtalan biṣā`iqah
or afflicted by lightning
231
أَوْ هَدْمٍ أَوْ حَرْقٍ
aw hadmin aw ḥar-q
or collapse or burning
232
أَوْشَرْقٍ أَوْ خَسْفٍ
awshar-qin aw khasf
or drowning or sinking
233
أَوْ مَسْخٍ أَوْ قَذْفٍ
aw maskhin aw qadhf
or transformation or being thrown
234
وَأَنَا فِيْ عَافِيَةٍ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ كُلِّهِ
wa-ana fī `āfiyatin min dhālika kullih
while I am in well-being from all of that
235
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا رَبِّ
falakal ḥamdu yā rabb
So to You is all praise, O my Lord
236

and among those who remember Your favors

إِلٰهِيْ وَكَمْ مِنْ عَبْدٍ
ilāhī wakam min `abd
My God, how many servants

أَمْسٰى وَأَصْبَحَ مُسَافِرًا
amsā wa-aṣbaḥa musāfirā
who evening and morning are traveling
243
شَاخِصًا عَنْ أَهْلِهِ وَوَلَدِهِ
shākhiṣan `an ahlihi wawaladih
departing from their family and children
244
مُتَحَيِّرًا فِيْ الْمَفَاوِزِ
mutaḥayyiran fil mafāwiz
wandering in the wilderness
245
تَائِهًا مَعَ الْوُحُوشِ وَالْبَهَائِمِ وَالْهَوَامِّ
tā-ihan ma`al wuḥūshi walbahā-imi walhawamm
lost among wild beasts, animals, and insects
246
وَحِيدًا فَرِيدًا
waḥīdan farīdā
alone and solitary
247
لَايَعْرِفُ حِيْلَةً
lāya`rifu ḥīlah
knowing no strategy
248
وَلَا يَهْتَدِيْ سَبِيلًا
walā yahtadī sabīlā
and finding no path of guidance
249
أَوْ مُتَأَذِّيًا بِبَرْدٍ أَوْ حَرٍّ
aw muta-adhhiyan bibar-din aw ḥarr
or suffering from cold or heat

أَوْ جُوعٍ أَوْ عُرْيٍ
aw jū`in aw `ur-y
or hunger or nakedness
251
أَوْ غَيْرِهِ مِنَ الشَّدَائِدِ
aw ghayrihi minash shadā-id
or other hardships
252
مِمَّا أَنَا مِنْهُ خِلْوٌ
mimmā ana minhu khilw
from which I am free
253
فِيْ عَافِيَةٍ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ كُلِّهِ
fī `āfiyatin min dhālika kullih
in well-being from all of that
254
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ يَا رَبِّ
falakal ḥamdu yā rabb
So to You is all praise, O my Lord

وَلِآلاَئِكَ مِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ
wali-ālā-ika minadh dhākirīn
and among those who remember Your favors

إِلٰهِيْ وَسَيِّدِيْ
ilāhī wasayyidī
My God and my Master
261
وَكَمْ مِنْ عَبْدٍ أَمْسٰى وَأَصْبَحَ
wakam min `abdin amsā wa-aṣbaḥ
how many servants who evening and morning are
262
فَقِيرًا عَائِلًا
faqīran `ā-ilā
poor and dependent
263
عَارِيًا مُمْلِقًا
`āriyan mumliqā
naked and destitute
264
مُخْفِقًا مَهْجُورًا
mukhfiqan mahjūrā
failing and abandoned
265
جَائِعًا ظَمْآنًا
jā-i`an ẓam-ānā
hungry and thirsty
266
يَنْتَظِرُ مَنْ يَعُودُ عَلَيْهِ بِفَضْلٍ
yantaẓiru man ya`ūdu `alayhi bifaḍl
waiting for someone to return to them with generosity
267
أَوْ عَبْدٍ وَجِيهٍ عِنْدَكَ
aw `abdin wajīhin `indak
or a servant honored by You
268
هُوَ أَوْجَهُ مِنِّي عِنْدَكَ
huwa awjahu minnī `indak
who is more esteemed by You than I am
269
وَأَشَدُّ عِبَادَةً لَكَ
wa-ashaddu `ibādatan lak
and more devoted in worship to You
270
مَغْلُوْلًا مَقْهُورًا
maghlūlan maqhūrā
shackled and oppressed
271
قَدْ حُمِّلَ ثِقْلًا مِنْ تَعَبِ الْعَنَاءِ
qad ḥummila thiqlan min ta`abil `anā
burdened with the weight of exhausting toil
272
وَشِدَّةِ الْعُبُودِيَّةِ
washiddatil `ubūdiyyah
and severe servitude
273
وَكُلْفَةِ الرِّقِّ
wakulfatir riqq
and the burden of slavery
274
وَثِقْلِ الضَّرِيبَةِ
wathiqliḍ ḍarībah
and the weight of taxes
275
أَوْ مُبْتَلًى بِبَلاءٍ شَدِيدٍ
aw mubtalan bibalā-in shadīd
or afflicted with severe trials
276
لَاقِبَلَ لَهُ إِلَّا بِمَنِّكَ عَلَيْهِ
lāqibala lahu illā bimannika `alayh
for which he has no strength except through Your favor upon him
277
وَأَنَا الْمَخْدُومُ الْمُنَعَّمُ
wa-anal makhdūmul muna``am
while I am served and blessed
278
اَلْمُعَافَى الْمُكَرَّمُ
al mu`āfal mukarram
healthy and honored
279
فِيْ عَافِيَةٍ مِمَّا هُوَ فِيهِ
fī `āfiyatin mimmā huwa fīh
in well-being from what he is in
280
فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى ذٰلِكَ كُلِّهِ
falakal ḥamdu `alā dhālika kullih
So to You is all praise for all of that
281
مِنْ مُقْتَدِرٍ لَايُغْلَبُ
min muqtadirin lāyughlab
You are the Almighty who cannot be defeated
282
وَذِيْ أَنَاةٍ لَايَعْجَلُ
wadhī anātin lāya`jal
and the Patient who does not hurry
283
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad

وَاجْعَلْنِيْ لِنَعْمَائِكَ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ

and make me among those who are grateful for Your blessings

وَلِآلاَئِكَ مِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ
wali-ālā-ika minadh dhākirīn
and among those who remember Your favors
286
إِلٰهِيْ وَسَيِّدِيْ
ilāhī wasayyidī
My God and my Master
287
وَكَمْ مِنْ عَبْدٍ أَمْسٰى وَأَصْبَحَ
wakam min `abdin amsā wa-aṣbaḥ
how many servants who evening and morning are
288
عَلِيْلًا مَرِيضًا
`alīlan marīḍā
infirm and ill
289
سَقِيْمًا مُدْنِفًا
saqīman mudnifā
sick and bedridden
290
عَلَى فُرُشِ الْعِلَّةِ وَفِيْ لِبَاسِهَا
`alā furushil `illati wafī libāsihā
on beds of illness and in its garments
291
يَتَقَلَّبُ يَمِينًا وَشِمَالًا
yataqallabu yamīnan washimālā
turning right and left
292
لَايَعْرِفُ شَيْئًا مِنْ لَذَّةِ الطَّعَامِ
lāya`rifu shay-an min ladhhatiṭ ṭa`ām
unable to taste the pleasure of food
293
وَلَا مِنْ لَذَّةِ الشَّرَابِ
walā min ladhhatish sharāb
or the pleasure of drink
294
يَنْظُرُ إِلٰى نَفْسِهِ حَسْرَةً
yanẓuru ilā nafsihi ḥasrah
looking at themselves in regret
295
لَايَسْتَطِيعُ لَهَا ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا
lāyastaṭī`u lahā ḍarran walā naf`ā
unable to bring harm or benefit to themselves
296
وَأَنَا خِلْوٌ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ كُلِّهِ
wa-ana khilwun min dhālika kullih
while I am free from all of that
297
بِجُودِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ
bijūdika wakaramik
by Your generosity and kindness
298
فَلَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ
falā ilāha illā anta subḥānak
There is no god but You, Glory be to You
299
مِنْ مُقْتَدِرٍ لَايُغْلَبُ
min muqtadirin lāyughlab
You are the Almighty who cannot be defeated

وَذِيْ أَنَاةٍ لَايَعْجَلُ
wadhī anātin lāya`jal
and the Patient who does not hurry

صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
302
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ لَكَ مِنَ الْعَابِدِيْنَ
waj`alnī laka minal `ābidīn
and make me among those who worship You
303
وَلِنَعْمَائِكَ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ
walina`mā-ika minash shākirīn
and who are grateful for Your blessings
304
وَلِآلاَئِكَ مِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ
wali-ālā-ika minadh dhākirīn
and among those who remember Your favors
305
وَارْحَمْنِيْ بِرَحْمَتِكَ
war-ḥamnī biraḥmatik
and have mercy on me by Your mercy
306
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
O Most Merciful of the merciful
307
مَوْلاَيَ وَسَيِّدِيْ
mawlāya wasayyidī
My Master and my Lord
308
وَكَمْ مِنْ عَبْدٍ أَمْسٰى وَأَصْبَحَ
wakam min `abdin amsā wa-aṣbaḥ
how many servants who evening and morning are
309
وَقَدْ دَنَا يَوْمُهُ مِنْ حَتْفِهِ
waqad danā yawmuhu min ḥatfih
with their day of death approaching
310
وَأَحْدَقَ بِهِ مَلَكُ الْمَوْتِ فِيْ أَعْوَانِهِ
wa-aḥdaqa bihi malakul mawti fī a`wānih
and the angel of death surrounding them with his helpers
311
يُعَالِجُ سَكَرَاتِ الْمَوْتِ وَحِيَاضَهُ
yu`āliju sakarātil mawti waḥiyāḍah
enduring the agonies of death and its pangs
312
تَدُوْرُ عَيْنَاهُ يَمِينًا وَشِمَالًا
tadūru `aynāhu yamīnan washimālā
their eyes turning right and left
313
يَنْظُرُ إِلٰى أَحِبَّائِهِ وَأَوِدَّائِهِ وَأَخِلَّائِهِ
yanẓuru ilā aḥibbā-ihi wa-awiddā-ihi wa-akhillā-ih
looking at their loved ones, friends, and companions
314
قَدْ مُنِعَ مِنَ الْكَلامِ
qad muni`a minal kalām
prevented from speaking
315
وَحُجِبَ عَنِ الْخِطَابِ
waḥujiba `anil khiṭāb
and barred from conversing
316
يَنْظُرُ إِلٰى نَفْسِهِ حَسْرَةً
yanẓuru ilā nafsihi ḥasrah
looking at themselves in regret
317
لَايَسْتَطِيعُ لَهَا ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا
lāyastaṭī`u lahā ḍarran walā naf`ā
unable to bring harm or benefit to themselves
318
وَأَنَا خِلْوٌ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ كُلِّهِ
wa-ana khilwun min dhālika kullih
while I am free from all of that
319
بِجُودِكَ وَكَرَمِكَ
bijūdika wakaramik
by Your generosity and kindness
320
فَلَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ
falā ilāha illā anta subḥānak
There is no god but You, Glory be to You
321
مِنْ مُقْتَدِرٍ لَايُغْلَبُ
min muqtadirin lāyughlab
You are the Almighty who cannot be defeated
322
وَذِيْ أَنَاةٍ لَايَعْجَلُ
wadhī anātin lāya`jal
and the Patient who does not hurry
323
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
324
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ لِنَعْمَائِكَ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ
waj`alnī lina`mā-ika minash shākirīn
and make me among those who are grateful for Your blessings
325
وَلِآلاَئِكَ مِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ
wali-ālā-ika minadh dhākirīn
and among those who remember Your favors
326
وَارْحَمْنِيْ بِرَحْمَتِكَ
war-ḥamnī biraḥmatik
and have mercy on me by Your mercy
327
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
O Most Merciful of the merciful
328
إِلٰهِيْ وَمَوْلَايَ وَسَيِّدِيْ
ilāhī wamawlāya wasayyidī
My God, my Master, and my Lord
329
وَكَمْ مِنْ عَبْدٍ أَمْسٰى وَأَصْبَحَ
wakam min `abdin amsā wa-aṣbaḥ
how many servants who evening and morning are
330
فِيْ مَضَائِقِ الْحُبُوسِ وَالسُّجُونِ
fī maḍā-iqil ḥubūsi was sujūn
in the confinement of prisons and dungeons
331
وَكُرَبِهَا وَذُلِّهَا وَحَدِيْدِهَا
wakurabihā wadhullihā waḥadīdihā
and their distress, humiliation, and chains
332
يَتَدَاوَلُهُ أَعْوَانُهَا وَزَبَانِيَتُهَا
yatadāwaluhu a`wānuhā wazabāniyatuhā
handled by their guards and jailers
333
فَلَا يَدْرِيْ أَيُّ حَالٍ يُفْعَلُ بِهِ
falā yadrī ayyu ḥālin yuf`alu bih
not knowing what will be done to them
334
وَأَيُّ مُثْلَةٍ يُمَثَّلُ بِهِ
wa-ayyu muthlatin yumathhalu bih
or how they will be mutilated
335
فَهُوَ فِيْ ضُرٍّ مِنَ الْعَيْشِ
fahuwa fī ḍurrin minal `aysh
so they are in misery of life
336
وَضَنْكٍ مِنَ الْحَيَاةِ
waḍankin minal ḥayāh
and constriction of living
337
يَنْظُرُ إِلٰى نَفْسِهِ حَسْرَةً
yanẓuru ilā nafsihi ḥasrah
looking at themselves in regret
338
لَايَسْتَطِيعُ لَهَا ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا
lāyastaṭī`u lahā ḍarran walā naf`ā
unable to bring harm or benefit to themselves
339
وَأَنَا خِلْوٌ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ كُلِّهِ
wa-ana khilwun min dhālika kullih
while I am free from all of that
340
بِجُودِكَ وَكَرمِكَ
bijūdika wakarmik
by Your generosity and kindness
341
فَلَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ سُبْحَانَكَ
falā ilāha illā anta subḥānak
There is no god but You, Glory be to You
342
مِنْ مُقْتَدِرٍ لَايُغْلَبُ
min muqtadirin lāyughlab
You are the Almighty who cannot be defeated

and make me among those who worship You

وَلِنَعْمَائِكَ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ

wali-ālā-ika minadh dhākirīn
and among those who remember Your favors

وَارْحَمْنِيْ بِرَحْمَتِكَ
war-ḥamnī biraḥmatik
and have mercy on me by Your mercy

يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
O Most Merciful of the merciful
350
سَيِّدِيْ وَمَوْلَايَ
sayyidī wamawlāy
My Master and my Lord
351
وَكَمْ مِنْ عَبْدٍ أَمْسٰى وَأَصْبَحَ
wakam min `abdin amsā wa-aṣbaḥ
how many servants who evening and morning are
352
قَدِ اسْتَمَرَّ عَلَيْهِ الْقَضَاءُ
qadistamarra `alayhil qaḍā
with fate continuing upon them
353
وَأَحْدَقَ بِهِ الْبَلاءُ
wa-aḥdaqa bihil balā
and calamity surrounding them
354
وَفَارَقَ أَوِدَّاءَهُ وَأَحِبَّاءَهُ وَأَخِلَّاءَهُ
wafāraqa awiddā-ahu wa-aḥibbā-ahu wa-akhillā-ah
having parted from their friends, loved ones, and companions
355
وَأَمْسٰى أَسِيرًا حَقِيرًا ذَلِيْلًا
wa-amsā asīran ḥaqīran dhalīlā
and evening as captives, despised, and humiliated
356
فِيْ أَيْدِيْ الْكُفَّارِ وَالْأَعْدَاءِ
fī aydil kuffāri wal-a`dā
in the hands of disbelievers and enemies
357
يَتَدَاوَلُونَهُ يَمِينًا وَشِمَالًا
yatadāwalūnahu yamīnan washimālā
who pass them around right and left
358
قَدْ حُصِرَ فِيْ الْمَطَامِيرِ
qad ḥuṣira fil maṭāmīr
they have been confined in dungeons
359
وَثُقِّلَ بِالْحَدِيْدِ
wathuqqila bil ḥadīd
and weighed down with iron
360
لَايَرىٰ شَيْئًا مِنْ ضِيَاءِ الدُّنْيَا
lāyarā shay-an min ḍiyā-id dunyā
seeing nothing of the light of the world
361
وَلَا مِنْ رَوْحِهَا
walā min rawḥihā
nor of its comfort
362
يَنْظُرُ إِلٰى نَفْسِهِ حَسْرَةً
yanẓuru ilā nafsihi ḥasrah
looking at themselves in regret
363
لَا يَسْتَطِيعُ لَهَا ضَرًّا وَلَا نَفْعًا
lā yastaṭī`u lahā ḍarran walā naf`ā
unable to bring harm or benefit to themselves
364
وَأَنَا خِلْوٌ مِنْ ذٰلِكَ كُلِّهِ
wa-ana khilwun min dhālika kullih
while I am free from all of that
365
بِجُودِكَ وَكَرمِكَ
bijūdika wakarmik
by Your generosity and kindness
366
فَلَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
falā ilāha illā ant
There is no god but You
367
سُبْحَانَكَ مِنْ مُقْتَدِرٍ لَايُغْلَبُ
subḥānaka min muqtadirin lāyughlab
Glory be to You, You are the Almighty who cannot be defeated
368
وَذِيْ أَنَاةٍ لَايَعْجَلُ
wadhī anātin lāya`jal
and the Patient who does not hurry
369
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad

370
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ لَكَ مِنَ الْعَابِدِيْنَ
waj`alnī laka minal `ābidīn
and make me among those who worship You
371
وَلِنَعْمَائِكَ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ
walina`mā-ika minash shākirīn
and who are grateful for Your blessings
372
وَلِآلاَئِكَ مِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ
wali-ālā-ika minadh dhākirīn
and among those who remember Your favors
373
وَارْحَمْنِيْ بِرَحْمَتِكَ
war-ḥamnī biraḥmatik
and have mercy on me by Your mercy
374
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
O Most Merciful of the merciful
375
وَعِزَّتِكَ يَا كَرِيمُ
wa`izzatika yā karīm
By Your might, O Generous One
376
لَأَطْلُبَنَّ مِمَّا لَدَيْكَ
la-aṭlubanna mimmā ladayk
I will surely ask for what is with You
377
وَلَأُلِحَّنَّ عَلَيْكَ
wala-uliḥḥanna `alayk
and I will insist upon You
378
وَلَأَمُدَّنَّ يَدِيْ نَحْوَكَ
wala-amuddanna yadī naḥwak
and I will extend my hand toward You
379
مَعَ جُرْمِهَا إِلَيْكَ
ma`a jur-mihā ilayk
despite its guilt before You
380
يَا رَبِّ فَبِمَنْ أَعُوذُ
yā rabbi fabiman a`ūdh
O Lord, in whom shall I seek refuge
381
وَبِمَنْ أَلُوذُ
wabiman alūdh
and with whom shall I seek protection
382
لَاأَحَدَ لِيْ إِلَّا أَنْتَ
lā-aḥada lī illā ant
I have no one but You
383
أَفَتَرُدَّنِيْ وَأَنْتَ مُعَوَّلِيْ
afataruddanī wa-anta mu`awwalī
Will You turn me away while You are my hope
384
وَعَلَيْكَ مُتَّكَلِيْ
wa`alayka muttakalī
and upon You is my reliance
385
أَسْأَلُكَ بِاسْمِكَ الَّذِيْ وَضَعْتَهُ عَلَى السَّمَاءِ فَاسْتَقَلَّتْ
as-aluka bismikal ladhī waḍa`tahu `alas samā-i fastaqallat
I ask You by Your name which You placed upon the heavens and they stood firm
386
وَعَلَى الْأَرْضِ فَاسْتَقَرَّتْ
wa`alal ar-ḍi fastaqarrat
and upon the earth and it became stable
387
وَعَلَى الْجِبَالِ فَرَسَتْ
wa`alal jibāli farasat
and upon the mountains and they were anchored
388
وَعَلَى اللَّيْلِ فَأَظْلَمَ
wa`alal layli fa-aẓlam
and upon the night and it darkened
389
وَعَلَى النَّهَارِ فَاسْتَنَارَ
wa`alan nahāri fastanār
and upon the day and it brightened
390
أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
an tuṣalliya `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
that You bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
391
وَأَنْ تَقْضِيَ لِيْ حَوَائِجِيْ كُلَّهَا
wa-an taqḍiya lī ḥawā-ijī kullahā
and that You fulfill all my needs
392
وَتَغْفِرَ لِيْ ذُنُوبِىْ كُلَّهَا
wataghfira lī dhunūbī kullahā
and forgive all my sins
393
صَغِيرَهَا وَكَبِيرَهَا
ṣaghīrahā wakabīrahā
small and large
394
وَتُوَسِّعَ عَلَيَّ مِنَ الرِّزْقِ
watuwassi`a `alayya minar rizq
and expand for me of provision
395
مَا تُبَلِّغُنِيْ بِهِ شَرَفَ الدُّنْيَا وَالْآخِرَةِ
mā tuballighunī bihi sharafad dunyā wal-ākhirah
what will enable me to achieve honor in this world and the hereafter
396
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
O Most Merciful of the merciful
397
مَوْلاَيَ بِكَ اسْتَعَنْتُ
mawlāya bikasta`ant
My Master, with You I have sought help
398
فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ وَأَعِنِّي
faṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammadin wa-a`innī
so bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad and help me
399
وَبِكَ اسْتَجَرْتُ فَأَجِرْنِي
wabikastajar-tu fa-ajir-nī
and with You I have sought protection, so protect me
400
وَأَغْنِنِيْ بِطَاعَتِكَ عَنْ طَاعَةِ عِبَادِكَ
wa-aghninī biṭā`atika `an ṭā`ati `ibādik
and make me content with obedience to You rather than obedience to Your servants
401
وَبِمَسْأَلَتِكَ عَنْ مَسْأَلَةِ خَلْقِكَ
wabimas-alatika `an mas-alati khalqik
and with asking You rather than asking Your creation
402
وَانْقُلْنِيْ مِنْ ذُلِّ الْفَقْرِ إِلٰى عِزِّ الْغِنىٰ
wanqulnī min dhullil faqri ilā `izzil ghinā
and transfer me from the humiliation of poverty to the honor of sufficiency
403
وَمِنْ ذُلِّ الْمَعَاصِيْ إِلٰى عِزِّ الطَّاعَةِ
wamin dhullil ma`āṣī ilā `izziṭ ṭā`ah
and from the humiliation of disobedience to the honor of obedience
404
فَقَدْ فَضَّلْتَنِيْ عَلَى كَثِيرٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
faqad faḍḍaltanī `alā kathīrin min khalqik
for You have favored me over many of Your creation
405
جُودًا مِنْكَ وَكَرَمًا
jūdan minka wakaramā
out of generosity from You and kindness
406
لَا بِاسْتِحْقَاقٍ مِنِّي
lā bistiḥqāqin minnī
not because of any merit from me
407
إِلٰهِيْ فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى ذٰلِكَ كُلِّهِ
ilāhī falakal ḥamdu `alā dhālika kullih
My God, so to You is praise for all of that
408
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
Bless Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
409
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ لِنَعْمَائِكَ مِنَ الشَّاكِرِينَ
waj`alnī lina`mā-ika minash shākirīn
and make me among those who are grateful for Your blessings
410
وَلِآلاَئِكَ مِنَ الذَّاكِرِينَ
wali-ālā-ika minadh dhākirīn
and among those who remember Your favors
You should then prostrate yourself and say the following:
411
سَجَدَ وَجْهِيَ الذَّلِيلُ
sajada wajhiyadh dhalīl
My humble face has prostrated
412
لِوَجْهِكَ الْعَزِيزِ الْجَلِيلِ
liwajhikal `azīzil jalīl
to Your mighty and majestic face
413
سَجَدَ وَجْهِيَ الْبَالِيْ الْفَانِي
sajada wajhiyal bālil fānī
My worn and mortal face has prostrated
414
لِوَجْهِكَ الدَّائِمِ الْبَاقِيْ
liwajhikad dā-imil bāqī
to Your eternal and everlasting face
415
سَجَدَ وَجْهِيَ الْفَقِيرُ
sajada wajhiyal faqīr
My poor face has prostrated
416
لِوَجْهِكَ الْغَنِيِّ الْكَبِيرِ
liwajhikal ghaniyyil kabīr
to Your rich and great face
417
سَجَدَ وَجْهِيْ وَسَمْعِيْ وَبَصَرِيْ
sajada wajhī wasam`ī wabaṣarī
My face, my hearing, my sight
418
وَلَحْمِيْ وَدَمِيْ وَجِلْدِيْ
walaḥmī wadamī wajildī
my flesh, my blood, my skin
419
وَعَظْمِيْ وَمَا أَقَلَّتِ الْأَرْضُ مِنِّي
wa`aẓmī wamā aqallatil ar-ḍu minnī
my bones, and all that the earth carries of me
420
لِلَّهِ رَبِّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
lillāhi rabbil `ālamīn
prostrate to Allah, the Lord of the worlds
421
اَللّٰهُمَّ عُدْ عَلَى جَهْلِيْ بِحِلْمِكَ
allāhumma `ud `alā jahlī biḥilmik
O Allah, respond to my ignorance with Your forbearance
422
وَعَلَى فَقْرِيْ بِغِنَاكَ
wa`alā faqrī bighināk
and to my poverty with Your richness
423
وَعَلَى ذُلِّى بِعِزِّكَ وَسُلْطَانِكَ
wa`alā dhullī bi`izzika wasulṭānik
and to my humiliation with Your might and authority
424
وَعَلَى ضَعْفِيْ بِقُوَّتِكَ
wa`alā ḍa`fī biquwwatik
and to my weakness with Your strength
425
وَعَلَى خَوْفِيْ بِأَمْنِكَ
wa`alā khawfī bi-amnik
and to my fear with Your security
426
وَعَلَى ذُنُوبِىْ وَخَطَايَايَ بِعَفْوِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ
wa`alā dhunūbī wakhaṭāyāya bi`afwika waraḥmatik
and to my sins and errors with Your pardon and mercy
427
يَا رَحْمٰنُ يَا رَحِيمُ
yā raḥmānu yā raḥīm
O Most Gracious, O Most Merciful
428
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَدْرَأُ بِكَ فِيْ نَحْرِ...
allāhumma innī adra-u bika fī naḥri...
O Allah, I push with You against the throat of...
Now, you may mention the name of your enemy.
429
وَأَعُوذُ بِكَ مِنْ شَرِّهِ
wa-a`ūdhu bika min sharrih
and I seek refuge in You from his evil
430
فَاكْفِنِيهِ بِمَا كَفَيْتَ بِهِ أَنْبِيَاءَكَ
fakfinīhi bimā kafayta bihi anbiyā-ak
So protect me from him as You protected Your prophets
431
وَأَوْلِيَاءَكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
wa-awliyā-aka min khalqik
and Your chosen ones from Your creation
432
وَصَالِحِ عِبَادِكَ
waṣāliḥi `ibādik
and Your righteous servants
433
مِنْ فَرَاعِنَةِ خَلْقِكَ
min farā`inati khalqik
from the pharaohs of Your creation
434
وَطُغَاةِ عُدَاتِكَ
waṭughāti `udātik
and the tyrants among Your enemies
435
وَشَرِّ جَمِيْعِ خَلْقِكَ
washarri jamī`i khalqik
and from the evil of all Your creation
436
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
biraḥmatika yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
by Your mercy, O Most Merciful of the merciful
437
إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
innaka `alā kulli shay-in qadīr
Verily, You have power over all things
438
وَحَسْبُنَا اللَّهُ وَنِعْمَ الْوَكِيلُ
waḥasbunallāhu wani`mal wakīl
Allah is sufficient for us, and He is the best Guardian
