بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send your blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
سَيِّدِيْ سَيِّدِي
sayyidī sayyidī
My Master, my Master
2
هٰذِهِ يَدَايَ قَدْ مَدَدْتُهُمَا اِلَيْكَ
hādhihi yadāya qad madadtuhumā ilayk
These are my hands which I have stretched out to You
3
بِالذُّنُوْبِ مَمْلُوءَةً
bidhhunūbi mamlū-ah
Filled with sins
4
وَ عَيْنَايَ بِالرَّجَاءِ مَمْدُوْدَةً
wa `aynāya birrajā-i mamdūdah
And my eyes extended with hope
5
وَحَقٌّ بِمَنْ دَعَاكَ بِالنَّدَمِ تَذَلُّلًا
waḥaqqun biman da`āka binnadami tadhallulā
And it is right for the one who calls upon You with remorse and humility
6
اَنْ تُجِيْبَهُ بِالْكَرَمِ تَفَضُّلًا
an tujībahu bil karami tafaḍḍulā
That You respond to him with generosity and favor
7
سَيِّدِيْ اَمِنْ اَهْلِ الشَّقَاءِ خَلَقْتَنِي
sayyidī amin ahlish shaqā-i khalaqtanī
My Master, have You created me from the people of misery
8
فَاَطِيْلُ بُكَائِي
fa-aṭīlu bukā-ī
So I prolong my weeping?
9
اَمْ مِنْ اَهْلِ السَّعَادَةِ خَلَقْتَنِي
am min ahlis sa`ādati khalaqtanī
Or have You created me from the people of happiness
10
فَأُبَشِّرُ رَجَائِي
fa-ubashhiru rajā-ī
So I can rejoice in my hope?
11
سَيِّدِيْ لَوْ اَنَّ عَبْدًا اِسْتَطَاعَ الْهَرَبَ
sayyidī law anna `abdan istaṭā`al harab
My Master, if a servant could escape
12
مِنْ مَوْلاَهُ
min mawlāh
From his Lord
13
لَكُنْتُ اَوَّلَ الْهَارِبِيْنَ مِنْكَ
lakuntu awwalal hāribīna mink
I would have been the first of those who flee from You
14
لَكِنِّيْ اَعْلَمُ اَنِّيْ لَا اَفُوْتُكَ
lakinnī a`lamu annī lā afūtuk
But I know that I cannot escape You
15
اِلٰهِيْ وَ سَيِّدِي
ilāhī wa sayyidī
My God and my Master
16
اِرْحَمْنِيْ مَصْرُوْعًا عَلَى الْفِرَاشِ
ir-ḥamnī maṣrū`an `alal firāsh
Have mercy on me when I am thrown onto the bed
17
تُقَلِّبُنِيْ اَيْدِيْ اَحِبَّتِي
tuqallibunī aydī aḥibbatī
Turned over by the hands of my loved ones
18
وَ ارْحَمْنِيْ مَطْرُوْحًا عَلَى الْمُغْتَسَلِ
war-ḥamnī maṭrūḥan `alal mughtasal
And have mercy on me when I am placed on the washing table
19
يُغَسِّلُنِيْ صَالِحُ جِيْرَتِي
yughassilunī ṣāliḥu jīratī
Being washed by my righteous neighbors
20
وَ ارْحَمْنِيْ مَحْمُوْلًا
war-ḥamnī maḥmūlā
And have mercy on me when I am carried
21
قَدْ تَنَاوَلَ الَاقْرِبَاءُ اَطْرَافَ جَنَازَتِي
qad tanāwalal aqribā-u aṭrāfa janāzatī
As my relatives hold the edges of my coffin
22
وَ ارْحَمْ فِيْ ذٰلِكَ الْبَيْتِ الْمُظْلِمِ
war-ḥam fī dhālikal baytil muẓlim
And have mercy on me in that dark house
23
وَحْشَتِيْ وَ غُرْبَتِيْ وَ وَحْدَتِي
waḥshatī wa ghur-batī wa waḥdatī
My fear, my estrangement, and my loneliness
