بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
إِلٰهِيْ مَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ ذَاقَ حَلاَوَةَ مَحَبَّتِكَ فَرَامَ مِنْكَ بَدَلًا
ilāhī man dhal ladhī dhāqa ḥalāwata maḥabbatika farāma minka badalā
My Lord, who has tasted the sweetness of Your love and then sought a substitute for You?
2
وَمَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ أَنِسَ بِقُرْبِكَ فَابْتَغَىٰ عَنْكَ حِوَلًا
waman dhal ladhī anisa biqur-bika fabtaghā `anka ḥiwalā
And who has felt the comfort of Your nearness and then sought an alternative to You?
3
إِلٰهِيْ فَاجْعَلْنَا مِمَّنِ اصْطَفَيْتَهُ لِقُرْبِكَ وَوِلايَتِكَ
ilāhī faj`alnā mimmaniṣṭafaytahu liqur-bika wawilāyatik
My Lord, make us among those whom You have chosen for Your nearness and Your friendship
4
وَأَخْلَصْتَهُ لِوُدِّكَ وَمَحَبَّتِكَ
wa-akhlaṣtahu liwuddika wamaḥabbatik
And purified for Your affection and Your love
5
وَشَوَّقْتَهُ إِلَى لِقَائِكَ
washawwaqtahu ilā liqā-ik
And made eager for meeting You
6
وَرَضَّيْتَهُ بِقَضَائِكَ
waraḍḍaytahu biqaḍā-ik
And made pleased with Your decree
7
وَمَنَحْتَهُ بِالنَّظَرِ إِلَى وَجْهِكَ
wamanaḥtahu binnaẓari ilā wajhik
And granted the vision of Your face
8
وَحَبَوْتَهُ بِرِضَاكَ
waḥabawtahu biriḍāk
And blessed with Your pleasure
9
وَأَعَذْتَهُ مِنْ هَجْرِكَ وَقِلاكَ
wa-a`adhtahu min hajrika waqilāk
And protected from Your abandonment and aversion
10
وَبَوَّأْتَهُ مَقْعَدَ الصِّدْقِ فِيْ جِوَارِكَ
wabawwa-tahu maq`adaṣ ṣidqi fī jiwārik
And settled in the seat of truth in Your presence
11
وَخَصَصْتَهُ بِمَعْرِفَتِكَ
wakhaṣaṣtahu bima`rifatik
And distinguished with Your recognition
12
وَأَهَّلْتَهُ لِعِبَادَتِكَ
wa-ahhaltahu li`ibādatik
And qualified for Your worship
13
وَهَيَّمْتَ قَلْبَهُ لِإِرَادَتِكَ
wahayyamta qalbahu li-irādatik
And made their hearts devoted to Your will
14
وَاجْتَبَيْتَهُ لِمُشَاهَدَتِكَ
wajtabaytahu limushāhadatik
And chosen for witnessing You
15
وَأَخْلَيْتَ وَجْهَهُ لَكَ
wa-akhlayta wajhahu lak
And dedicated their faces to You alone
16
وَفَرَّغْتَ فُؤَادَهُ لِحُبِّكَ
wafarraghta fu-ādahu liḥubbik
And emptied their hearts for Your love
17
وَرَغَّبْتَهُ فِيمَا عِنْدَكَ
waraghhabtahu fīmā `indak
And made them desire what is with You
18
وَأَلْهَمْتَهُ ذِكْرَكَ
wa-alhamtahu dhikrak
And inspired them with Your remembrance
19
وَأَوْزَعْتَهُ شُكْرَكَ
wa-awza`tahu shukrak
And granted them thankfulness to You
20
وَشَغَلْتَهُ بِطَاعَتِكَ
washaghaltahu biṭā`atik
And occupied them with Your obedience
21
وَصَيَّرْتَهُ مِنْ صَالِحِيْ بَرِيَّتِكَ
waṣayyar-tahu min ṣāliḥī bariyyatik
And made them among the righteous of Your creation
22
وَاخْتَرْتَهُ لِمُنَاجَاتِكَ
wakhtar-tahu limunājātik
And chosen them for intimate conversation with You
23
وَقَطَعْتَ عَنْهُ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ يَقْطَعُهُ عَنْكَ
waqaṭa`ta `anhu kulla shay-in yaqṭa`uhu `ank
And cut off from them everything that separates them from You
24
اَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْنَا مِمَّنْ دَأْبُهُمُ الْإِرْتِيَاحُ إِلَيْكَ وَالْحَنِيْنُ
allāhummaj`alnā mimman da-buhumul ir-tiyāḥu ilayka walḥanīn
O Allah, make us among those whose habit is to find comfort in You and to yearn for You
25
وَدَهْرُهُمُ الزَّفْرَةُ وَالْاَنِينُ
wadahruhumuz zafratu wal-anīn
And whose life is filled with sighs and lamentation
26
جِبَاهُهُمْ سَاجِدَةٌ لِعَظَمَتِكَ
jibāhuhum sājidatun li`aẓamatik
Whose foreheads prostrate to Your greatness
27
وَعُيُونُهُمْ سَاهِرَةٌ فِيْ خِدْمَتِكَ
wa`uyūnuhum sāhiratun fī khidmatik
And whose eyes stay awake in Your service
28
وَدُمُوعُهُمْ سَائِلَةٌ مِنْ خَشْيَتِكَ
wadumū`uhum sā-ilatun min khashyatik
And whose tears flow from fear of You
29
وَقُلُوبُهُمْ مُتَعَلِّقَةٌ بِمَحَبَّتِكَ
waqulūbuhum muta`alliqatun bimaḥabbatik
And whose hearts are attached to Your love
30
وَأَفْئِدَتُهُمْ مُنْخَلِعَةٌ مِنْ مَهَابَتِكَ
wa-af-idatuhum munkhali`atun min mahābatik
And whose souls are overwhelmed by Your majesty
31
يَا مَنْ أَنْوَارُ قُدْسِهِ لِأَبْصَارِ مُحِبِّيْهِ رَائِقَةٌ
yā man anwāru qudsihi li-abṣāri muḥibbīhi rā-iqah
O You whose holy lights are appealing to the eyes of those who love You
32
وَسُبُحَاتُ وَجْهِهِ لِقُلُوبِ عَارِفِيْهِ شَائِقَةٌ
wasubuḥātu wajhihi liqulūbi `ārifīhi shā-iqah
And the glory of whose face causes longing in the hearts of those who know You
33
يَا مُنَىٰ قُلُوبِ الْمُشْتَاقِينَ
yā munā qulūbil mushtāqīn
O desire of the hearts of the yearning ones
34
وَيَا غَايَةَ آمَالِ الْمُحِبِّينَ
wayā ghāyata-āmālil muḥibbīn
And O ultimate goal of the hopes of those who love You
35
أَسْأَلُكَ حُبَّكَ وَحُبَّ مَنْ يُحِبُّكَ
as-aluka ḥubbaka waḥubba man yuḥibbuk
I ask You for Your love and the love of those who love You
36
وَحُبَّ كُلِّ عَمَلٍ يُوصِلُنِيْ إِلٰى قُرْبِكَ
waḥubba kulli `amalin yūṣilunī ilā qur-bik
And the love of every deed that brings me closer to You
37
وَأَنْ تَجْعَلَكَ أَحَبَّ إِلَيَّ مِمَّا سِوَاكَ
wa-an taj`alaka aḥabba ilayya mimmā siwāk
And that You make Yourself more beloved to me than anything else
38
وَأَنْ تَجْعَلَ حُبِّيْ إِيَّاكَ قَائِدًا إِلَى رِضْوَانِكَ
wa-an taj`ala ḥubbī iyyāka qā-idan ilā riḍwānik
And that You make my love for You a guide to Your pleasure
39
وَشَوْقِيْ إِلَيْكَ ذَائِدًا عَنْ عِصْيَانِكَ
washawqī ilayka dhā-idan `an `iṣyānik
And my longing for You a barrier against disobeying You
40
وَامْنُنْ بِالنَّظَرِ إِلَيْكَ عَلَيَّ
wamnun binnaẓari ilayka `alayy
And bestow upon me the vision of You
41
وَانْظُرْ بِعَيْنِ الْوُدِّ وَالْعَطْفِ إِلَيَّ
wanẓur bi`aynil wuddi wal`aṭfi ilayy
And look upon me with the eye of affection and kindness
42
وَلَا تَصْرِفْ عَنِّيْ وَجْهَكَ
walā taṣrif `annī wajhak
And do not turn Your face away from me
43
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْاِسْعَادِ وَالْحُظْوَةِ عِنْدَكَ
waj`alnī min ahlil is`ādi walḥuẓwati `indak
And make me among the people of happiness and favor with You
44
يَا مُجِيبُ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
yā mujību yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
O Answerer of prayers, O Most Merciful of the merciful
