بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
يَا اَللَّهُ الَّذِيْ لَا يَخْفَى عَلَيْهِ
yā allāhul ladhī lā yakhfā `alayh
O Allah, from whom nothing is hidden
2
شَيْءٌ فِيْ الْأَرْضِ وَ لَا فِيْ السَّمَاءِ
shay-un fil ar-ḍi wa lā fis samā
Anything on the earth or in the heavens
3
وَ كَيْفَ يَخْفَى عَلَيْكَ يَا إِلَهِيْ مَا أَنْتَ خَلَقْتَهُ
wa kayfa yakhfā `alayka yā ilahī mā anta khalaqtah
And how could anything be hidden from You, O my God, when You created it
4
وَ كَيْفَ لَا تُحْصِيْ مَا أَنْتَ صَنَعْتَهُ
wa kayfa lā tuḥṣī mā anta ṣana`tah
And how could You not account for what You have made
5
أَوْ كَيْفَ يَغِيبُ عَنْكَ مَا أَنْتَ تُدَبِّرُهُ
aw kayfa yaghību `anka mā anta tudabbiruh
Or how could anything be absent from You when You are managing it
6
أَوْ كَيْفَ يَسْتَطِيعُ أَنْ يَهْرُبَ مِنْكَ مَنْ لَا حَيَاةَ لَهُ إِلَّا بِرِزْقِكَ
aw kayfa yastaṭī`u an yahruba minka man lā ḥayāta lahu illā birizqik
Or how could one escape from You when he has no life except through Your sustenance
7
أَوْ كَيْفَ يَنْجُوْ مِنْكَ مَنْ لَا مَذْهَبَ لَهُ فِيْ غَيْرِ مُلْكِكَ
aw kayfa yanjū minka man lā madh-haba lahu fī ghayri mulkik
Or how could one be saved from You when he has no refuge outside Your dominion
8
سُبْحَانَكَ أَخْشَى خَلْقِكَ لَكَ أَعْلَمُهُمْ بِكَ
subḥānaka akhshā khalqika laka a`lamuhum bik
Glory be to You, the most fearful of You among Your creation are those who know You best
9
وَ أَخْضَعُهُمْ لَكَ أَعْمَلُهُمْ بِطَاعَتِكَ
wa akhḍa`uhum laka a`maluhum biṭā`atik
And the most submissive to You are those who act most in Your obedience
10
وَ أَهْوَنُهُمْ عَلَيْكَ مَنْ أَنْتَ تَرْزُقُهُ وَ هُوَ يَعْبُدُ غَيْرَكَ
wa ahwanuhum `alayka man anta tar-zuquhu wa huwa ya`budu ghayrak
And the most insignificant to You is the one whom You provide for while he worships other than You
11
سُبْحَانَكَ لَا يَنْقُصُ سُلْطَانَكَ مَنْ أَشْرَكَ بِكَ، وَ كَذَّبَ رُسُلَكَ
subḥānaka lā yanquṣu sulṭānaka man ashraka bik, wa kadhhaba rusulak
Glory be to You, Your authority is not diminished by those who associate partners with You and deny Your messengers
12
وَ لَيْسَ يَسْتَطِيعُ مَنْ كَرِهَ قَضَاءَكَ أَنْ يَرُدَّ أَمْرَكَ
wa laysa yastaṭī`u man kariha qaḍā-aka an yarudda amrak
And he who dislikes Your decree cannot repel Your command
13
وَ لَا يَمْتَنِعُ مِنْكَ مَنْ كَذَّبَ بِقُدْرَتِكَ
wa lā yamtani`u minka man kadhhaba biqudratik
And he who denies Your power cannot escape from You
14
وَ لَا يَفُوتُكَ مَنْ عَبَدَ غَيْرَكَ
wa lā yafūtuka man `abada ghayrak
And he who worships other than You cannot elude You
15
وَ لَا يُعَمَّرُ فِيْ الدُّنْيَا مَنْ كَرِهَ لِقَاءَكَ
wa lā yu`ammaru fid dunyā man kariha liqā-ak
And he who dislikes meeting You will not live forever in this world
16
سُبْحَانَكَ مَا أَعْظَمَ شَأْنَكَ، وَ أَقْهَرَ سُلْطَانَكَ
subḥānaka mā a`ẓama sha-nak, wa aqhara sulṭānak
Glory be to You, how great is Your glory, how dominating is Your authority
17
وَ أَشَدَّ قُوَّتَكَ، وَ أَنْفَذَ أَمْرَكَ
wa ashadda quwwatak, wa anfadha amrak
How intense is Your power, and how effective is Your command
18
سُبْحَانَكَ قَضَيْتَ عَلَى جَمِيْعِ خَلْقِكَ الْمَوْتَ
subḥānaka qaḍayta `alā jamī`i khalqikal mawt
Glory be to You, You have decreed death upon all Your creation
19
مَنْ وَحَّدَكَ وَ مَنْ كَفَرَ بِكَ
man waḥḥadaka wa man kafara bik
Those who affirm Your Oneness and those who disbelieve in You
20
وَ كُلٌّ ذَائِقُ الْمَوْتِ
wa kullun dhā-iqul mawt
And everyone shall taste death
21
وَ كُلٌّ صَائِرٌ إِلَيْكَ، فَتَبَارَكْتَ وَ تَعَالَيْتَ
wa kullun ṣā-irun ilayk, fatabārakta wa ta`ālayt
And everyone shall return to You, blessed and exalted are You
22
لَا إِلَهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ وَحْدَكَ لَا شَرِيكَ لَكَ، آمَنْتُ بِكَ
lā ilaha illā anta waḥdaka lā sharīka lak, āmantu bik
There is no god but You alone, with no partner, I believe in You
23
وَ صَدَّقْتُ رُسُلَكَ وَ قَبِلْتُ كِتَابَكَ
wa ṣaddaqtu rusulaka wa qabiltu kitābak
And I affirm Your messengers and accept Your Book
24
وَ كَفَرْتُ بِكُلِّ مَعْبُودٍ غَيْرِكَ
wa kafar-tu bikulli ma`būdin ghayrik
And I reject every deity other than You
25
وَ بَرِئْتُ مِمَّنْ عَبَدَ سِوَاكَ
wa bari-tu mimman `abada siwāk
And I disassociate myself from those who worship other than You
26
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أُصْبِحُ وَ أُمْسِيْ مُسْتَقِلًّا لِعَمَلِي
allāhumma innī uṣbiḥu wa umsī mustaqillan li`amalī
O Allah, I begin my morning and evening considering my deeds as insufficient
27
مُعْتَرِفًا بِذَنْبِيْ، مُقِرًّا بِخَطَايَايَ
mu`tarifan bidhanbī, muqirran bikhaṭāyāy
Acknowledging my sins, confessing my mistakes
28
أَنَا بِإِسْرَاْفِيْ عَلَى نَفْسِيْ ذَلِيلٌ
anā bi-israfī `alā nafsī dhalīl
I am humiliated by my excesses against myself
29
عَمَلِيْ أَهْلَكَنِيْ، وَ هَوَايَ أَرْدَانِي
`amalī ahlakanī, wa hawāya ar-dānī
My actions have destroyed me, and my desires have ruined me
30
وَ شَهَوَاتِيْ حَرَمَتْنِي
wa shahawātī ḥaramatnī
And my passions have deprived me
31
فَأَسْأَلُكَ يَا مَوْلَايَ سُؤَالَ مَنْ نَفْسُهُ لَاهِيَةٌ لِطُولِ أَمَلِهِ
fa-as-aluka yā mawlāya su-āla man nafsuhu lāhiyatun liṭūli amalih
So I ask You, O my Master, like one whose soul is distracted by lengthy hopes
32
وَ بَدَنُهُ غَافِلٌ لِسُكُونِ عُرُوقِهِ
wa badanuhu ghāfilun lisukūni `urūqih
And whose body is heedless due to the stillness of his veins
33
وَ قَلْبُهُ مَفْتُونٌ بِكَثْرَةِ النِّعَمِ عَلَيْهِ
wa qalbuhu maftūnun bikathratin ni`ami `alayh
And whose heart is captivated by the abundance of blessings upon him
34
وَ فِكْرُهُ قَلِيلٌ لِمَا هُوَ صَائِرٌ إِلَيْهِ
wa fikruhu qalīlun limā huwa ṣā-irun ilayh
And whose thoughts are few about what he is heading towards
35
سُؤَالَ مَنْ قَدْ غَلَبَ عَلَيْهِ الْأَمَلُ
su-āla man qad ghalaba `alayhil amal
The request of one who is overcome by hope
36
وَ فَتَنَهُ الْهَوَى، وَ اسْتَمْكَنَتْ مِنْهُ الدُّنْيَا
wa fatanahul hawā, wastamkanat minhud dunyā
And tempted by desire, and engrossed in this world
37
وَ أَظَلَّهُ الْأَجَلُ، سُؤَالَ مَنِ اسْتَكْثَرَ ذُنُوبَهُ
wa aẓallahul ajal, su-āla manistakthara dhunūbah
And overshadowed by death, the request of one who acknowledges his abundant sins
38
وَ اعْتَرَفَ بِخَطِيئَتِهِ، سُؤَالَ مَنْ لَا رَبَّ لَهُ غَيْرُكَ
wa`tarafa bikhaṭī-atih, su-āla man lā rabba lahu ghayruk
And confesses his mistakes, the request of one who has no Lord but You
39
وَ لَا وَلِيَّ لَهُ دُونَكَ، وَ لَا مُنْقِذَ لَهُ مِنْكَ
wa lā waliyya lahu dūnak, wa lā munqidha lahu mink
And no guardian besides You, and no savior from You
40
وَ لَا مَلْجَأَ لَهُ مِنْكَ إِلَّا إِلَيْكَ
wa lā malja-a lahu minka illā ilayk
And no refuge from You except in You
41
إِلَهِيْ أَسْأَلُكَ بِحَقِّكَ الْوَاجِبِ عَلَى جَمِيْعِ خَلْقِكَ
ilahī as-aluka biḥaqqikal wājibi `alā jamī`i khalqik
My God, I ask You by Your right that is obligatory upon all Your creation
42
وَ بِاسْمِكَ الْعَظِيمِ الَّذِيْ أَمَرْتَ رَسُولَكَ أَنْ يُسَبِّحَكَ بِهِ
wa bismikal `aẓīmil ladhī amar-ta rasūlaka an yusabbiḥaka bih
And by Your Great Name which You commanded Your Messenger to glorify You with
43
وَ بِجَلَالِ وَجْهِكَ الْكَرِيمِ الَّذِيْ لَا يَبْلَى
wa bijalāli wajhikal karīmil ladhī lā yablā
And by the majesty of Your Noble Face which does not decay
44
وَ لَا يَتَغَيَّرُ، وَ لَا يَحُولُ وَ لَا يَفْنَى
wa lā yataghayyar, wa lā yaḥūlu wa lā yafnā
And does not change, and does not alter, and does not perish
45
أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
an tuṣalliya `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
That You send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
46
وَ أَنْ تُغْنِيَنِيْ عَنْ كُلِّ شَيْءٍ بِعِبَادَتِكَ
wa an tughniyanī `an kulli shay-in bi`ibādatik
And that You make me content with Your worship over everything else
47
وَ أَنْ تُسَلِّيَ نَفْسِيْ عَنِ الدُّنْيَا بِمَخَافَتِكَ
wa an tusalliya nafsī `anid dunyā bimakhāfatik
And that You comfort my soul from this world through fear of You
48
وَ أَنْ تُثْنِيَنِيْ بِالْكَثِيرِ مِنْ كَرَامَتِكَ بِرَحْمَتِكَ
wa an tuthniyanī bil kathīri min karāmatika biraḥmatik
And that You reward me with abundant honors by Your mercy
49
فَإِلَيْكَ أَفِرُّ، و مِنْكَ أَخَافُ، وَ بِكَ أَسْتَغِيثُ
fa-ilayka afirr, wuminka akhāf, wa bika astaghīth
For to You I flee, and You I fear, and You I seek for help
50
وَ إِيَّاكَ أَرْجُوْ، وَ لَكَ أَدْعُوْ، وَ إِلَيْكَ أَلْجَأُ
wa iyyāka ar-jū, wa laka ad`ū, wa ilayka alja-u
And in You I hope, and to You I pray, and to You I seek refuge
51
وَ بِكَ أَثِقُ، وَ إِيَّاكَ أَسْتَعِينُ، وَ بِكَ أُومِنُ
wa bika athiq, wa iyyāka asta`īn, wa bika ūmin
And in You I trust, and You I seek for assistance, and in You I believe
52
وَ عَلَيْكَ أَتَوَكَّلُ
wa `alayka atawakkal
And upon You I rely
53
وَ عَلَى جُودِكَ وَ كَرَمِكَ أَتَّكِلُ
wa `alā jūdika wa karamika attakil
And on Your generosity and nobility I depend
