بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the Name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
يَا مَنْ يَرْحَمُ مَنْ لَا يَرْحَمُهُ الْعِبَادُ
yā man yar-ḥamu man lā yar-ḥamuhul `ibād
O He who has mercy on those whom the servants do not have mercy on
2
وَ يَا مَنْ يَقْبَلُ مَنْ لَا تَقْبَلُهُ الْبِلَادُ
wa yā man yaqbalu man lā taqbaluhul bilād
And O He who accepts those whom the lands do not accept
3
وَ يَا مَنْ لَا يَحْتَقِرُ أَهْلَ الْحَاجَةِ إِلَيْهِ
wa yā man lā yaḥtaqiru ahlal ḥājati ilayh
And O He who does not look down upon those who are in need of Him
4
وَ يَا مَنْ لَا يُخَيِّبُ الْمُلِحِّينَ عَلَيْهِ
wa yā man lā yukhayyibul muliḥḥīna `alayh
And O He who does not disappoint those who insist on [asking] Him
5
وَ يَا مَنْ لَا يَجْبَهُ بِالرَّدِّ أَهْلَ الدَّالَّةِ عَلَيْهِ
wa yā man lā yajbahu birraddi ahlad dāllati `alayh
And O He who does not rebuke with rejection those who have confidence in Him
6
وَ يَا مَنْ يَجْتَبِيْ صَغِيرَ مَا يُتْحَفُ بِهِ
wa yā man yajtabī ṣaghīra mā yut-ḥafu bih
And O He who accepts even the smallest gift presented to Him
7
وَ يَشْكُرُ يَسِيرَ مَا يُعْمَلُ لَهُ
wa yashkuru yasīra mā yu`malu lah
And who thanks for the slightest work done for Him
8
وَ يَا مَنْ يَشْكُرُ عَلَى الْقَلِيلِ وَ يُجَازِيْ بِالْجَلِيلِ
wa yā man yashkuru `alal qalīli wa yujāzī bil jalīl
And O He who thanks for the little and rewards with the great
9
وَ يَا مَنْ يَدْنُوْ إِلَى مَنْ دَنَا مِنْهُ
wa yā man yadnū ilā man danā minh
And O He who draws near to one who approaches Him
10
وَ يَا مَنْ يَدْعُوْ إِلَى نَفْسِهِ مَنْ أَدْبَرَ عَنْهُ
wa yā man yad`ū ilā nafsihi man adbara `anh
And O He who calls to Himself whoever turns away from Him
11
وَ يَا مَنْ لَا يُغَيِّرُ النِّعْمَةَ، وَ لَا يُبَادِرُ بِالنَّقِمَةِ
wa yā man lā yughayyirun ni`mah, wa lā yubādiru binnaqimah
And O He who does not change the blessing, nor hastens to punishment
12
وَ يَا مَنْ يُثْمِرُ الْحَسَنَةَ حَتَّى يُنْمِيَهَا
wa yā man yuthmirul ḥasanata ḥattā yunmiyahā
And O He who causes the good deed to bear fruit until it grows
13
وَ يَتَجَاوَزُ عَنِ السَّيِّئَةِ حَتَّى يُعَفِّيَهَا
wa yatajāwazu `anis sayyi-ati ḥattā yu`affiyahā
And overlooks the evil deed until He erases it
14
إِنْصَرَفَتِ الْآمَالُ دُوْنَ مَدَى كَرَمِكَ بِالْحَاجَاتِ
inṣarafatil-āmālu dūna madā karamika bil ḥājāt
Hopes turn back with needs before reaching the extent of Your generosity
15
وَ امْتَلَأَتْ بِفَيْضِ جُودِكَ أَوْعِيَةُ الطَّلِبَاتِ
wamtala-at bifayḍi jūdika aw`iyatuṭ ṭalibāt
And the vessels of requests are filled with the abundance of Your munificence
16
وَ تَفَسَّخَتْ دُوْنَ بُلُوغِ نَعْتِكَ الصِّفَاتُ
wa tafassakhat dūna bulūghi na`tikaṣ ṣifāt
And descriptions fall apart before reaching the reality of Your attributes
17
فَلَكَ الْعُلُوُّ الْأَعْلَى فَوْقَ كُلِّ عَالٍ
falakal `uluwwul a`lā fawqa kulli `āl
For You is the highest elevation above every high one
18
وَ الْجَلَالُ الْأَمْجَدُ فَوْقَ كُلِّ جَلَالٍ
wal jalālul amjadu fawqa kulli jalāl
And the most glorious majesty above every majesty
19
كُلُّ جَلِيلٍ عِنْدَكَ صَغِيرٌ
kullu jalīlin `indaka ṣaghīr
Every great thing is small before You
20
وَ كُلُّ شَرِيفٍ فِيْ جَنْبِ شَرَفِكَ حَقِيرٌ
wa kullu sharīfin fī janbi sharafika ḥaqīr
And every noble thing is insignificant compared to Your nobility
21
خَابَ الْوَافِدُوْنَ عَلَى غَيْرِكَ
khābal wāfidūna `alā ghayrik
Those who approach other than You are disappointed
22
وَ خَسِرَ الْمُتَعَرِّضُونَ إِلَّا لَكَ، وَ ضَاعَ الْمُلِمُّونَ إِلَّا بِكَ
wa khasiral muta`arriḍūna illā lak, wa ḍā`al mulimmūna illā bik
And those who seek from other than You lose, and those who resort to other than You are ruined
23
وَ أَجْدَبَ الْمُنْتَجِعُونَ إِلَّا مَنِ انْتَجَعَ فَضْلَكَ
wa ajdabal muntaji`ūna illā manintaja`a faḍlak
And those who seek provision elsewhere suffer drought except for the one who seeks Your bounty
24
بَابُكَ مَفْتُوحٌ لِلرَّاغِبِينَ، وَ جُودُكَ مُبَاحٌ لِلسَّائِلِينَ
bābuka maftūḥun lirrāghibīn, wa jūduka mubāḥun lissā-ilīn
Your door is open to those who desire, and Your generosity is available to those who ask
25
وَ إِغَاثَتُكَ قَرِيبَةٌ مِنَ الْمُسْتَغِيثِينَ
wa ighāthatuka qarībatun minal mustaghīthīn
And Your help is near to those who seek assistance
26
لَا يَخِيبُ مِنْكَ الْآمِلُونَ، وَ لَا يَيْأَسُ مِنْ عَطَائِكَ الْمُتَعَرِّضُونَ
lā yakhību minkal-āmilūn, wa lā yay-asu min `aṭā-ikal muta`arriḍūn
Those who hope in You are not disappointed, and those who seek Your giving do not despair
27
وَ لَا يَشْقَى بِنَقِمَتِكَ الْمُسْتَغْفِرُونَ
wa lā yashqā binaqimatikal mustaghfirūn
And those who seek Your forgiveness are not made miserable by Your punishment
28
رِزْقُكَ مَبْسُوطٌ لِمَنْ عَصَاكَ
rizquka mabsūṭun liman `aṣāk
Your provision is extended even to those who disobey You
29
وَ حِلْمُكَ مُعْتَرِضٌ لِمَنْ نَاوَاكَ
wa ḥilmuka mu`tariḍun liman nāwāk
And Your forbearance presents itself to those who contend with You
30
عَادَتُكَ الْإِحْسَانُ إِلَى الْمُسِيئِينَ
`ādatukal iḥsānu ilal musī-īn
Your habit is to do good to the wrongdoers
31
وَ سُنَّتُكَ الْإِبْقَاءُ عَلَى الْمُعْتَدِيْنَ
wa sunnatukal ibqā-u `alal mu`tadīn
And Your way is to be forbearing with transgressors
32
حَتَّى لَقَدْ غَرَّتْهُمْ أَنَاتُكَ عَنِ الرُّجُوعِ
ḥattā laqad gharrat-hum anātuka `anir rujū`
Until Your slowness has deluded them from returning
33
وَ صَدَّهُمْ إِمْهَالُكَ عَنِ النُّزُوعِ
wa ṣaddahum imhāluka `anin nuzū`
And Your respite has deterred them from desisting
34
وَ إِنَّمَا تَأَنَّيْتَ بِهِمْ لِيَفِيْؤُوْا إِلَى أَمْرِكَ
wa innamā ta-annayta bihim liyafī-ū ilā amrik
You were slow with them only so they would return to Your command
35
وَ أَمْهَلْتَهُمْ ثِقَةً بِدَوَامِ مُلْكِكَ
wa amhaltahum thiqatan bidawāmi mulkik
And You gave them respite out of confidence in the permanence of Your kingdom
36
فَمَنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ السَّعَادَةِ خَتَمْتَ لَهُ بِهَا
faman kāna min ahlis sa`ādati khatamta lahu bihā
So whoever was among the people of happiness, You sealed it for him
37
وَ مَنْ كَانَ مِنْ أَهْلِ الشَّقَاوَةِ خَذَلْتَهُ لَهَا
wa man kāna min ahlish shaqāwati khadhaltahu lahā
And whoever was among the people of wretchedness, You abandoned him to it
38
كُلُّهُمْ صَائِرُونَ إِلَى حُكْمِكَ، وَ اُمُورُهُمْ آئِلَةٌ إِلَى أَمْرِكَ
kulluhum ṣā-irūna ilā ḥukmik, wa umūruhum-ā-ilatun ilā amrik
All of them are proceeding to Your judgment, and their affairs are returning to Your command
39
لَمْ يَهِنْ عَلَى طُولِ مُدَّتِهِمْ سُلْطَانُكَ
lam yahin `alā ṭūli muddatihim sulṭānuk
Your authority has not weakened despite the length of their term
40
وَ لَمْ يَدْحَضْ لِتَرْكِ مُعَاجَلَتِهِمْ بُرْهَانُكَ
wa lam yad-ḥaḍ litar-ki mu`ājalatihim bur-hānuk
And Your proof has not been refuted by Your delay in hastening against them
41
حُجَّتُكَ قَائِمَةٌ لَا تُدْحَضُ
ḥujjatuka qā-imatun lā tud-ḥaḍ
Your argument stands and cannot be refuted
42
وَ سُلْطَانُكَ ثَابِتٌ لَا يَزُولُ
wa sulṭānuka thābitun lā yazūl
And Your authority is established and does not diminish
43
فَالْوَيْلُ الدَّائِمُ لِمَنْ جَنَحَ عَنْكَ
falwaylud dā-imu liman janaḥa `ank
So perpetual woe to him who turns away from You
44
وَ الْخَيْبَةُ الْخَاذِلَةُ لِمَنْ خَابَ مِنْكَ
wal khaybatul khādhilatu liman khāba mink
And humiliating disappointment to him who is disappointed by You
45
وَ الشَّقَاءُ الْأَشْقَى لِمَنِ اغْتَرَّ بِكَ
wash shaqā-ul ashqā limanightarra bik
And the most wretched misery to him who is deluded about You
46
مَا أَكْثَرَ تَصَرُّفَهُ فِيْ عَذَابِكَ
mā akthara taṣarrufahu fī `adhābik
How numerous are his movements in Your punishment
47
وَ مَا أَطْوَلَ تَرَدُّدَهُ فِيْ عِقَابِكَ
wa mā aṭwala taraddudahu fī `iqābik
And how lengthy is his back-and-forth in Your chastisement
48
وَ مَا أَبْعَدَ غَايَتَهُ مِنَ الْفَرَجِ
wa mā ab`ada ghāyatahu minal faraj
And how far is his ultimate end from relief
49
وَ مَا أَقْنَطَهُ مِنْ سُهُولَةِ الْمَخْرَجِ
wa mā aqnaṭahu min suhūlatil makhraj
And how despairing he is of an easy way out
50
عَدْلًا مِنْ قَضَائِكَ لَا تَجُورُ فِيهِ
`adlan min qaḍā-ika lā tajūru fīh
[This is] justice from Your decree in which You do not wrong
51
وَ إِنْصَافًا مِنْ حُكْمِكَ لَا تَحِيفُ عَلَيْهِ
wa inṣāfan min ḥukmika lā taḥīfu `alayh
And fairness from Your judgment in which You do not deviate
52
فَقَدْ ظَاهَرْتَ الْحُجَجَ، وَ أَبْلَيْتَ الْأَعْذَارَ
faqad ẓāhar-tal ḥujaj, wa ablaytal a`dhār
You have made Your proofs evident and exhausted excuses
53
وَ قَدْ تَقَدَّمْتَ بِالْوَعِيدِ، وَ تَلَطَّفْتَ فِيْ التَّرْغِيبِ
wa qad taqaddamta bil wa`īd, wa talaṭṭafta fit tar-ghīb
You have already given warning and been kind in encouragement
54
وَ ضَرَبْتَ الْأَمْثَالَ، وَ أَطَلْتَ الْإِمْهَالَ
wa ḍarabtal amthāl, wa aṭaltal imhāl
You have set forth examples and extended the respite
55
وَ أَخَّرْتَ وَ أَنْتَ مُسْتَطِيعٌ لِلمُعَاجَلَةِ
wa akhhar-ta wa anta mustaṭī`un lil-mu`ājalah
And You have delayed while You are capable of immediate action
56
وَ تَأَنَّيْتَ وَ أَنْتَ مَلِيءٌ بِالْمُبَادَرَةِ
wa ta-annayta wa anta malī-un bil mubādarah
And You have been patient while You are full of readiness to hasten
57
لَمْ تَكُنْ أَنَاتُكَ عَجْزًا، وَ لَا إِمْهَالُكَ وَهْنًا
lam takun anātuka `ajzā, wa lā imhāluka wahnā
Your slowness was not due to inability, nor Your respite due to weakness
58
وَ لَا إِمْسَاكُكَ غَفْلَةً، وَ لَا انْتِظَارُكَ مُدَارَاةً
wa lā imsākuka ghaflah, wa lantiẓāruka mudārāh
Nor Your restraint due to heedlessness, nor Your waiting due to compromise
59
بَلْ لِتَكُونَ حُجَّتُكَ أَبْلَغَ، وَ كَرَمُكَ أَكْمَلَ
bal litakūna ḥujjatuka ablagh, wa karamuka akmal
But so that Your proof may be more conclusive, and Your generosity more perfect
60
وَ إِحْسَانُكَ أَوْفَى، وَ نِعْمَتُكَ أَتَمَّ
wa iḥsānuka awfā, wa ni`matuka atamm
And Your goodness more complete, and Your blessing more full
61
كُلُّ ذٰلِكَ كَانَ وَ لَمْ تَزَلْ، وَ هُوَ كَائِنٌ وَ لَا تَزَالُ
kullu dhālika kāna wa lam tazal, wa huwa kā-inun wa lā tazāl
All of that has been and You have never ceased, and it will be and You will never cease
62
حُجَّتُكَ أَجَلُّ مِنْ أَنْ تُوصَفَ بِكُلِّهَا
ḥujjatuka ajallu min an tūṣafa bikullihā
Your argument is too majestic to be described completely
63
وَ مَجْدُكَ أَرْفَعُ مِنْ أَنْ يُحَدَّ بِكُنْهِهِ
wa majduka ar-fa`u min an yuḥadda bikunhih
And Your glory is too exalted to be limited in its essence
64
وَ نِعْمَتُكَ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ أَنْ تُحْصَى بِأَسْرِهَا
wa ni`matuka aktharu min an tuḥṣā bi-asrihā
And Your blessing is too numerous to be counted in its entirety
65
وَ إِحْسَانُكَ أَكْثَرُ مِنْ أَنْ تُشْكَرَ عَلَى أَقَلِّهِ
wa iḥsānuka aktharu min an tushkara `alā aqallih
And Your goodness is too abundant to be thanked even for its least part
66
وَ قَدْ قَصَّرَ بِيَ السُّكُوتُ عَنْ تَحْمِيدِكَ
wa qad qaṣṣara biyas sukūtu `an taḥmīdik
Silence has made me fall short of praising You
67
وَ فَهَّهَنِيَ الْإِمْسَاكُ عَنْ تَمْجِيدِكَ
wa fahhahaniyal imsāku `an tamjīdik
And restraint has made me incapable of glorifying You
68
وَ قُصَارَايَ الْإِقْرَارُ بِالْحُسُورِ
wa quṣārāyal iqrāru bil ḥusūr
The utmost I can do is admit my limitations
69
لَا رَغْبَةً يَا إِلَهِيْ بَلْ عَجْزًا
lā raghbatan yā ilahī bal `ajzā
Not out of choice, my God, but out of inability
70
فَهَا أَنَا ذَا أَؤُمُّكَ بِالْوِفَادَةِ، وَ أَسْأَلُكَ حُسْنَ الرِّفَادَةِ
fahā ana dhā a-ummuka bil wifādah, wa as-aluka ḥusnar rifādah
So here I am, coming to You as a delegate, and asking You for excellent support
71
فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ، وَ اسْمَعْ نَجْوَايَ
faṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa-ālih, wasma` najwāy
So send blessings upon Muhammad and his family, and hear my confidential talk
72
وَ اسْتَجِبْ دُعَائِيْ، وَ لَا تَخْتِمْ يَوْمِيْ بِخَيْبَتِي
wastajib du`ā-ī, wa lā takhtim yawmī bikhaybatī
And answer my prayer, and do not end my day with disappointment
73
وَ لَا تَجْبَهْنِيْ بِالرَّدِّ فِيْ مَسْأَلَتِي
wa lā tajbahnī birraddi fī mas-alatī
And do not reject me in my request
74
وَ أَكْرِمْ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ مُنْصَرَفِيْ وَ إِلَيْكَ مُنْقَلَبِي
wa akrim min `indika munṣarafī wa ilayka munqalabī
And honor my departure from Your presence and my return to You
75
إِنَّكَ غَيْرُ ضَائِقٍ بِمَا تُرِيدُ، وَ لَا عَاجِزٍ عَمَّا تُسْأَلُ
innaka ghayru ḍā-iqin bimā turīd, wa lā `ājizin `ammā tus-al
Indeed, You are not constrained by what You will, nor incapable of what You are asked
76
وَ أَنْتَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
wa anta `alā kulli shay-in qadīr
And You have power over all things
77
وَ لَا حَوْلَ وَ لَا قُوَّةَ إِلَّا بِاللَّهِ الْعَلِيِّ الْعَظِيمِ
wa lā ḥawla wa lā quwwata illā billāhil `aliyyil `aẓīm
And there is no might nor power except with Allah, the Most High, the Most Great
