بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
أَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى سِتْرِكَ بَعْدَ عِلْمِكَ
allāhumma lakal ḥamdu `alā sitrika ba`da `ilmik
O Allah, praise be to You for Your concealment despite Your knowledge
2
وَمُعَافَاتِكَ بَعْدَ خُبْرِكَ
wamu`āfātika ba`da khubrik
And for Your protection despite Your awareness
3
فَكُلُّنَا قَدِ اقْتَرَفَ الْعَائِبَةَ فَلَمْ تَشْهَرْهُ
fakullunā qadiqtarafal `ā-ibata falam tash-har-h
For each of us has committed faults, yet You did not expose us
4
وَارْتَكَبَ الْفَاحِشَةَ فَلَمْ تَفْضَحْهُ
war-takabal fāḥishata falam tafḍaḥ-h
And committed indecencies, yet You did not disgrace us
5
وَتَسَتَّرَ بِالْمَسَاوِيْ فَلَمْ تَدْلُلْ عَلَيْهِ
watasattara bil masāwī falam tadlul `alayh
And concealed our evils, yet You did not point them out
6
كَمْ نَهْيٍ لَكَ قَدْ أَتَيْنَاهُ
kam nahyin laka qad ataynāh
How many of Your prohibitions have we violated
7
وَأَمْرٍ قَدْ وَقَفْتَنَا عَلَيْهِ فَتَعَدَّيْنَاهُ
wa-amrin qad waqaftanā `alayhi fata`addaynāh
And commands have You established for us, yet we transgressed them
8
وَسَيِّئَةٍ اكْتَسَبْنَاهَا، وَخَطِيئَةٍ ارْتَكَبْنَاهَا
wasayyi-atiniktasabnāhā, wakhaṭī-atinir-takabnāhā
And sins have we acquired, and mistakes have we committed
9
كُنْتَ الْمُطَّلِعَ عَلَيْهَا دُوْنَ النَّاظِرِينَ
kuntal muṭṭali`a `alayhā dūnan nāẓirīn
You were the One aware of them, not other observers
10
وَالْقَادِرَ عَلَى إِعْلَانِهَا فَوْقَ الْقَادِرِينَ
walqādira `alā i`lānihā fawqal qādirīn
And capable of revealing them, above all others with power
11
كَانَتْ عَافِيَتُكَ لَنَا حِجَابًا دُوْنَ أَبْصَارِهِمْ
kānat `āfiyatuka lanā ḥijāban dūna abṣārihim
Your protection for us was a veil before their eyes
12
وَرَدْمًا دُوْنَ أَسْمَاعِهِمْ
waradman dūna asmā`ihim
And a barrier before their ears
13
فَاجْعَلْ مَا سَتَرْتَ مِنَ الْعَوْرَةِ
faj`al mā satar-ta minal `awrah
So make what You have concealed of our defects
14
وَأَخْفَيْتَ مِنَ الدَّخِيلَةِ وَاعِظًا لَنَا
wa-akhfayta minad dakhīlati wā`iẓan lanā
And hidden of our inner faults a lesson for us
15
وَزَاجِرًا عَنْ سُوءِ الْخُلُقِ وَاقْتِرَافِ الْخَطِيئَةِ
wazājiran `an sū-il khuluqi waqtirāfil khaṭī-ah
And a deterrent from bad character and committing sins
16
وَسَعْيًا إِلَى التَّوْبَةِ الْمَاحِيَةِ وَالطَّرِيقِ الْمَحْمُودَةِ
wasa`yan ilat tawbatil māḥiyati waṭ ṭarīqil maḥmūdah
And a striving toward erasable repentance and the praiseworthy path
17
وَقَرِّبِ الْوَقْتَ فِيهِ
waqarribil waqta fīh
And bring near its time
18
وَلَا تَسُمْنَا الْغَفْلَةَ عَنْكَ
walā tasumnal ghaflata `ank
And do not mark us with heedlessness of You
19
إِنَّا إِلَيْكَ رَاغِبُونَ، وَمِنَ الذُّنُوبِ تَائِبُونَ
innā ilayka rāghibūn, waminadh dhunūbi tā-ibūn
Indeed, we are desirous of You, and repentant from sins
20
وَصَلِّ عَلَى خِيَرَتِكَ اللَّهُمَّ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
waṣalli `alā khiyaratikallāhumma min khalqik
And send blessings upon Your chosen one from Your creation
21
مُحَمَّدٍ وَعِتْرَتِهِ الصِّفْوَةِ مِنْ بَرِيَّتِكَ الطَّاهِرِينَ
muḥammadin wa`itratihiṣ ṣifwati min bariyyatikaṭ ṭāhirīn
Muhammad and his pure family, the chosen ones from Your creation, the purified
22
وَاجْعَلْنَا لَهُمْ سَامِعِينَ وَمُطِيعِينَ كَمَا أَمَرْتَ
waj`alnā lahum sāmi`īna wamuṭī`īna kamā amar-t
And make us among those who listen to them and obey them as You have commanded
