بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Compassionate, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send Your blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
اَللَّهُمَّ لَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى مَا لَمْ أَزَلْ أَتَصَرَّفُ فِيهِ مِنْ سَلَامَةِ بَدَنِي
allāhumma lakal ḥamdu `alā mā lam azal ataṣarrafu fīhi min salāmati badanī
O Allah, all praise be to You for the continued good health of my body
2
وَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى مَا أَحْدَثْتَ بِيْ مِنْ عِلَّةٍ فِيْ جَسَدِي
walakal ḥamdu `alā mā aḥdathta bī min `illatin fī jasadī
And all praise be to You for the illness You have brought upon my body
3
فَمَا أَدْرِي، يَا إِلَهِي، أَيُّ الْحَالَيْنِ أَحَقُّ بِالشُّكْرِ لَكَ
famā adrī, yā ilahī, ayyul ḥālayni aḥaqqu bishhukri lak
I do not know, my God, which of these two states is more deserving of gratitude to You
4
وَأَيُّ الْوَقْتَيْنِ أَوْلَى بِالْحَمْدِ لَكَ
wa-ayyul waqtayni awlā bil ḥamdi lak
And which of the two times is more worthy of praise to You
5
أَ وَقْتُ الصِّحَّةِ الَّتِيْ هَنَّأْتَنِيْ فِيهَا طَيِّبَاتِ رِزْقِكَ
a waqtuṣ ṣiḥḥatil latī hanna-tanī fīhā ṭayyibāti rizqik
Is it the time of health in which You made me enjoy the good things of Your provision
6
وَنَشَّطْتَنِيْ بِهَا لِابْتِغَاءِ مَرْضَاتِكَ وَفَضْلِكَ
wanashhaṭtanī bihā libtighā-i mar-ḍātika wafaḍlik
And in which You gave me energy to seek Your pleasure and bounty
7
وَقَوَّيْتَنِيْ مَعَهَا عَلَى مَا وَفَّقْتَنِيْ لَهُ مِنْ طَاعَتِكَ
waqawwaytanī ma`ahā `alā mā waffaqtanī lahu min ṭā`atik
And gave me strength to perform the acts of obedience for which You granted me success
8
أَمْ وَقْتُ الْعِلَّةِ الَّتِيْ مَحَّصْتَنِيْ بِهَا
am waqtul `illatil latī maḥḥaṣtanī bihā
Or is it the time of illness through which You purified me
9
وَالنِّعَمِ الَّتِيْ أَتْحَفْتَنِيْ بِهَا
wan ni`amil latī at-ḥaftanī bihā
And the blessings with which You honored me
10
تَخْفِيفًا لِمَا ثَقُلَ بِهِ عَلَى ظَهْرِيْ مِنَ الْخَطِيئَاتِ
takhfīfan limā thaqula bihi `alā ẓahrī minal khaṭī-āt
Lightening the burden of sins that weighed heavily on my back
11
وَتَطْهِيرًا لِمَا انْغَمَسْتُ فِيهِ مِنَ السَّيِّئَاتِ
wataṭ-hīran limanghamastu fīhi minas sayyi-āt
And purifying me from the evils in which I was immersed
12
وَتَنْبِيهًا لِتَنَاوُلِ التَّوْبَةِ، وَتَذْكِيرًا لِمَحْوِ الْحَوْبَةِ بِقَدِيمِ النِّعْمَةِ
watanbīhan litanāwulit tawbah, watadhkīran limaḥwil ḥawbati biqadīmin ni`mah
And reminding me to seek repentance, and to erase sins through the remembrance of Your past favors
13
وَفِيْ خِلَالِ ذٰلِكَ مَا كَتَبَ لِيَ الْكَاتِبَانِ
wafī khilāli dhālika mā kataba liyal kātibān
And during all that, what the two recording angels have written for me
14
مِنْ زَكِيِّ الْأَعْمَالِ، مَا لَا قَلْبٌ فَكَّرَ فِيهِ
min zakiyyil a`māl, mā lā qalbun fakkara fīh
Of pure deeds that no heart has contemplated
15
وَلَا لِسَانٌ نَطَقَ بِهِ وَلَا جَارِحَةٌ تَكَلَّفَتْهُ، بَلْ إِفْضَالًا مِنْكَ عَلَيَّ
walā lisānun naṭaqa bihi walā jāriḥatun takallafat-h, bal ifḍālan minka `alayy
No tongue has uttered and no limb has performed, but only as Your favor upon me
16
وَإِحْسَانًا مِنْ صَنِيعِكَ إِلَيَّ
wa-iḥsānan min ṣanī`ika ilayy
And as goodness from Your blessings to me
17
اَللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ
allāhumma faṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa ālih
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and his family
18
وَحَبِّبْ إِلَيَّ مَا رَضِيتَ لِي
waḥabbib ilayya mā raḍīta lī
And make beloved to me what You have chosen for me
19
وَيَسِّرْ لِيْ مَا أَحْلَلْتَ بِي
wayassir lī mā aḥlalta bī
And make easy for me what You have brought upon me
20
وَطَهِّرْنِيْ مِنْ دَنَسِ مَا أَسْلَفْتُ
waṭahhir-nī min danasi mā aslaft
And purify me from the impurity of my past deeds
21
وَامْحُ عَنِّيْ شَرَّ مَا قَدَّمْتُ
wamḥu `annī sharra mā qaddamt
And erase the evil of what I have committed
22
وَأَوْجِدْنِيْ حَلَاوَةَ الْعَافِيَةِ، وَأَذِقْنِيْ بَرْدَ السَّلَامَةِ
wa-awjidnī ḥalāwatal `āfiyah, wa-adhiqnī bar-das salāmah
And let me find the sweetness of well-being, and taste the coolness of safety
23
وَاجْعَلْ مَخْرَجِيْ عَنْ عِلَّتِيْ إِلَى عَفْوِكَ
waj`al makhrajī `an `illatī ilā `afwik
And make my exit from my illness lead to Your pardon
24
وَمُتَحَوَّلِيْ عَنْ صَرْعَتِيْ إِلَى تَجَاوُزِكَ
wamutaḥawwalī `an ṣar-`atī ilā tajāwuzik
And my transformation from my downfall lead to Your forgiveness
25
وَخَلَاصِيْ مِنْ كَرْبِيْ إِلَى رَوْحِكَ
wakhalāṣī min kar-bī ilā rawḥik
And my deliverance from my distress lead to Your comfort
26
وَسَلَامَتِيْ مِنْ هٰذِهِ الشِّدَّةِ إِلَى فَرَجِكَ
wasalāmatī min hādhihish shiddati ilā farajik
And my safety from this hardship lead to Your relief
27
إِنَّكَ الْمُتَفَضِّلُ بِالْإِحْسَانِ
innakal mutafaḍḍilu bil iḥsān
Verily, You are the One who bestows favors with kindness
28
اَلْمُتَطَوِّلُ بِالِامْتِنَانِ، الْوَهَّابُ الْكَرِيمُ
al mutaṭawwilu bilimtinān,al wahhābul karīm
The Giver of blessings, the Generous Bestower
29
ذُوْ الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ
dhul jalāli wal-ikrām
Possessor of Majesty and Honor
