بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
اَللَّهُمَّ يَا مُنْتَهَى مَطْلَبِ الْحَاجَاتِ
allāhumma yā muntahā maṭlabil ḥājāt
O Allah, O Ultimate Goal of all needs
2
وَيَا مَنْ عِنْدَهُ نَيْلُ الطَّلِبَاتِ
wayā man `indahu nayluṭ ṭalibāt
And O One with whom is the fulfillment of all requests
3
وَيَا مَنْ لَا يَبِيعُ نِعَمَهُ بِالْأَثْمَانِ
wayā man lā yabī`u ni`amahu bil athmān
And O One who does not sell His blessings for a price
4
وَيَا مَنْ لَا يُكَدِّرُ عَطَايَاهُ بِالْإِمْتِنَانِ
wayā man lā yukaddiru `aṭāyāhu bil imtinān
And O One who does not spoil His gifts with reproach
5
وَيَا مَنْ يُسْتَغْنَى بِهِ وَلَا يُسْتَغْنَى عَنْهُ
wayā man yustaghnā bihi walā yustaghnā `anh
And O One who is sought for sufficiency while He needs none
6
وَيَا مَنْ يُرْغَبُ إِلَيْهِ وَلَا يُرْغَبُ عَنْهُ
wayā man yur-ghabu ilayhi walā yur-ghabu `anh
And O One who is approached with desire and never avoided
7
وَيَا مَنْ لَا تُفْنِيْ خَزَائِنَهُ الْمَسَائِلُ
wayā man lā tufnī khazā-inahul masā-il
And O One whose treasures are not depleted by requests
8
وَيَا مَنْ لَا تُبَدِّلُ حِكْمَتَهُ الْوَسَائِلُ
wayā man lā tubaddilu ḥikmatahul wasā-il
And O One whose wisdom is not altered by means
9
وَيَا مَنْ لَا تَنْقَطِعُ عَنْهُ حَوَائِجُ الْمُحْتَاجِينَ
wayā man lā tanqaṭi`u `anhu ḥawā-ijul muḥtājīn
And O One from whom the needs of the needy are never cut off
10
وَيَا مَنْ لَا يُعَنِّيهِ دُعَاءُ الدَّاعِينَ
wayā man lā yu`annīhi du`ā-ud dā`īn
And O One who is not wearied by the supplications of those who call upon Him
11
تَمَدَّحْتَ بِالْغَنَاءِ عَنْ خَلْقِكَ وَأَنْتَ أَهْلُ الْغِنَى عَنْهُمْ
tamaddaḥta bil ghanā-i `an khalqika wa-anta ahlul ghinā `anhum
You have praised Yourself for being free of need for Your creation, and You are worthy of being free of need for them
12
وَنَسَبْتَهُمْ إِلَى الْفَقْرِ وَهُمْ أَهْلُ الْفَقْرِ إِلَيْكَ
wanasabtahum ilal faqri wahum ahlul faqri ilayk
And You have attributed poverty to them, and they are truly poor before You
13
فَمَنْ حَاوَلَ سَدَّ خَلَّتِهِ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ
faman ḥāwala sadda khallatihi min `indik
So whoever seeks to fulfill his need from You
14
وَرَامَ صَرْفَ الْفَقْرِ عَنْ نَفْسِهِ بِكَ فَقَدْ طَلَبَ حَاجَتَهُ
warāma ṣar-fal faqri `an nafsihi bika faqad ṭalaba ḥājatah
And attempts to remove poverty from himself through You, has sought his need
15
فِيْ مَظَانِّهَا وَأَتَى طَلِبَتَهُ مِنْ وَجْهِهَا
fī maẓānnihā wa-atā ṭalibatahu min wajhihā
In its proper place and has approached his request from the right direction
16
وَمَنْ تَوَجَّهَ بِحَاجَتِهِ إِلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ أَوْ جَعَلَهُ سَبَبَ نُجْحِهَا
waman tawajjaha biḥājatihi ilā aḥadin min khalqika aw ja`alahu sababa nujḥihā
And whoever directs his need to anyone from Your creation or makes them the means for its success
17
دُونَكَ فَقَدْ تَعَرَّضَ لِلْحِرْمَانِ
dūnaka faqad ta`arraḍa lilḥir-mān
Instead of You, has exposed himself to deprivation
18
وَاسْتَحَقَّ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ فَوْتَ الْإِحْسَانِ
wastaḥaqqa min `indika fawtal iḥsān
And deserves to be deprived of Your benevolence
19
اَللَّهُمَّ وَلِيْ إِلَيْكَ حَاجَةٌ قَدْ قَصَّرَ عَنْهَا جُهْدِي
allāhumma walī ilayka ḥājatun qad qaṣṣara `anhā juhdī
O Allah, I have a need for which my effort has fallen short
20
وَتَقَطَّعَتْ دُونَهَا حِيَلِي
wataqaṭṭa`at dūnahā ḥiyalī
And my resources have been cut off from achieving it
21
وَسَوَّلَتْ لِيْ نَفْسِيْ رَفْعَهَا إِلَى مَنْ يَرْفَعُ حَوَائِجَهُ إِلَيْكَ
wasawwalat lī nafsī raf`ahā ilā man yar-fa`u ḥawā-ijahu ilayk
And my soul enticed me to present it to one who presents his own needs to You
22
وَلَا يَسْتَغْنِيْ فِيْ طَلِبَاتِهِ عَنْكَ
walā yastaghnī fī ṭalibātihi `ank
And who is not independent of You in his requests
23
وَهِيَ زَلَّةٌ مِنْ زَلَلِ الْخَاطِئِينَ
wahiya zallatun min zalalil khāṭi-īn
And this was a slip among the slips of the erroneous
24
وَعَثْرَةٌ مِنْ عَثَرَاتِ الْمُذْنِبِينَ
wa`athratun min `atharātil mudhnibīn
And a stumble among the stumbles of the sinners
25
ثُمَّ انْتَبَهْتُ بِتَذْكِيرِكَ لِيْ مِنْ غَفْلَتِي
thummantabahtu bitadhkīrika lī min ghaflatī
Then I awoke from my heedlessness by Your reminder
26
وَنَهَضْتُ بِتَوْفِيقِكَ مِنْ زَلَّتِي
wanahaḍtu bitawfīqika min zallatī
And I rose from my slip by Your guidance
27
وَرَجَعْتُ وَنَكَصْتُ بِتَسْدِيْدِكَ عَنْ عَثْرَتِي
waraja`tu wanakaṣtu bitasdīdika `an `athratī
And I returned and retreated from my stumble through Your direction
28
وَقُلْتُ سُبْحَانَ رَبِّيْ كَيْفَ يَسْأَلُ مُحْتَاجٌ مُحْتَاجًا
waqultu subḥāna rabbī kayfa yas-alu muḥtājun muḥtājā
And I said: Glory be to my Lord! How can a needy person ask another needy person?
29
وَأَنَّى يَرْغَبُ مُعْدِمٌ إِلَى مُعْدِمٍ
wa-annā yar-ghabu mu`dimun ilā mu`dim
And how can a destitute turn to another destitute?
30
فَقَصَدْتُكَ يَا إِلَهِيْ بِالرَّغْبَةِ
faqaṣadtuka yā ilahī birraghbah
So I have aimed toward You, my God, with desire
31
وَأَوْفَدْتُ عَلَيْكَ رَجَائِيْ بِالثِّقَةِ بِكَ
wa-awfadtu `alayka rajā-ī bithhiqati bik
And I have directed my hope to You with confidence in You
32
وَعَلِمْتُ أَنَّ كَثِيرَ مَا أَسْأَلُكَ يَسِيرٌ فِيْ وُجْدِكَ
wa`alimtu anna kathīra mā as-aluka yasīrun fī wujdik
And I know that much of what I ask You is easy in Your possession
33
وَأَنَّ خَطِيرَ مَا أَسْتَوْهِبُكَ حَقِيرٌ فِيْ وُسْعِكَ
wa-anna khaṭīra mā astawhibuka ḥaqīrun fī wus`ik
And that the significant things I seek from You are insignificant in Your capacity
34
وَأَنَّ كَرَمَكَ لَا يَضِيقُ عَنْ سُؤَالِ أَحَدٍ
wa-anna karamaka lā yaḍīqu `an su-āli aḥad
And that Your generosity is not constricted by anyone's request
35
وَأَنَّ يَدَكَ بِالْعَطَايَا أَعْلَى مِنْ كُلِّ يَدٍ
wa-anna yadaka bil `aṭāyā a`lā min kulli yad
And that Your hand in giving is higher than every hand
36
اَللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ وَاحْمِلْنِيْ بِكَرَمِكَ عَلَى التَّفَضُّلِ
allāhumma faṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa ālihi waḥmilnī bikaramika `alat tafaḍḍul
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and his family, and carry me by Your generosity to favor
37
وَلَا تَحْمِلْنِيْ بِعَدْلِكَ عَلَى الِاسْتِحْقَاقِ
walā taḥmilnī bi`adlika `alal istiḥqāq
And do not carry me by Your justice to what I deserve
38
فَمَا أَنَا بِأَوَّلِ رَاغِبٍ رَغِبَ إِلَيْكَ فَأَعْطَيْتَهُ وَهُوَ يَسْتَحِقُّ الْمَنْعَ
famā ana bi-awwali rāghibin raghiba ilayka fa-a`ṭaytahu wahuwa yastaḥiqqul man`
For I am not the first seeker who turned to You and You gave him while he deserved to be denied
39
وَلَا بِأَوَّلِ سَائِلٍ سَأَلَكَ فَأَفْضَلْتَ عَلَيْهِ وَهُوَ يَسْتَوْجِبُ الْحِرْمَانَ
walā bi-awwali sā-ilin sa-alaka fa-afḍalta `alayhi wahuwa yastawjibul ḥir-mān
Nor the first asker who asked You and You bestowed upon him while he deserved to be deprived
40
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa ālih
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and his family
41
وَكُنْ لِدُعَائِيْ مُجِيبًا وَمِنْ نِدَائِيْ قَرِيبًا
wakun lidu`ā-ī mujīban wamin nidā-ī qarībā
And be responsive to my supplication, and near to my call
42
وَلِتَضَرُّعِيْ رَاحِمًا وَلِصَوْتِيْ سَامِعًا
walitaḍarru`ī rāḥiman waliṣawtī sāmi`ā
And merciful to my entreaty, and listening to my voice
43
وَلَا تَقْطَعْ رَجَائِيْ عَنْكَ وَلَا تَبُتَّ سَبَبِيْ مِنْكَ
walā taqṭa` rajā-ī `anka walā tabutta sababī mink
And do not cut off my hope from You, and do not sever my connection to You
44
وَلَا تُوَجِّهْنِيْ فِيْ حَاجَتِيْ هَذِهِ وَغَيْرِهَا إِلَى سِوَاكَ
walā tuwajjihnī fī ḥājatī hadhihi waghayrihā ilā siwāk
And do not direct me in this need of mine and others to anyone but You
45
وَتَوَلَّنِيْ بِنُجْحِ طَلِبَتِيْ وَقَضَاءِ حَاجَتِي
watawallanī binujḥi ṭalibatī waqaḍā-i ḥājatī
And take charge of the success of my request and the fulfillment of my need
46
وَنَيْلِ سُؤْلِيْ قَبْلَ زَوَالِيْ عَنْ مَوْقِفِيْ هَذَا
wanayli su-lī qabla zawālī `an mawqifī hadhā
And the granting of my plea before I leave this position of mine
47
بِتَيْسِيرِكَ لِيَ الْعَسِيرَ وَحُسْنِ تَقْدِيرِكَ لِيْ فِيْ جَمِيْعِ الْأُمُورِ
bitaysīrika liyal `asīra waḥusni taqdīrika lī fī jamī`il umūr
By making easy for me what is difficult, and by Your good arrangement for me in all matters
48
وَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ صَلَاةً دَائِمَةً نَامِيَةً لَا انْقِطَاعَ لِأَبَدِهَا
waṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa ālihi ṣalātan dā-imatan nāmiyatan lanqiṭā`a li-abadihā
And send blessings upon Muhammad and his family, blessings that are everlasting, ever-growing, never ending
49
وَلَا مُنْتَهَى لِأَمَدِهَا وَاجْعَلْ ذٰلِكَ عَوْنًا لِيْ وَسَبَبًا لِنَجَاحِ طَلِبَتِيْ إِنَّكَ وَاسِعٌ كَرِيمٌ
walā muntahā li-amadihā waj`al dhālika `awnan lī wasababan linajāḥi ṭalibatī innaka wāsi`un karīm
And with no limit to their duration, and make that a help for me and a means for the success of my request. Indeed, You are All-Encompassing, Most Generous
50
وَمِنْ حَاجَتِيْ يَا رَبِّ كَذَا وَكَذَا
wamin ḥājatī yā rabbi kadhā wakadhā
And among my needs, O Lord, is such and such
Here you should state your needs, then prostrate yourself, and say:
51
فَضْلُكَ آنَسَنِيْ وَإِحْسَانُكَ دَلَّنِي
faḍluka-ānasanī wa-iḥsānuka dallanī
Your grace has comforted me and Your kindness has guided me
52
فَأَسْأَلُكَ بِكَ وَبِمُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ صَلَوَاتُكَ عَلَيْهِمْ أَنْ لَا تَرُدَّنِيْ خَائِبًا
fa-as-aluka bika wabimuḥammadin wa ālihi ṣalawātuka `alayhim an lā taruddanī khā-ibā
So I ask You by Yourself and by Muhammad and his family, Your blessings upon them, that You do not turn me away disappointed
