بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
يَا مَنْ ذِكْرُهُ شَرَفٌ لِلذَّاكِرِينَ
yā man dhikruhu sharafun lidhhākirīn
O He whose remembrance is an honor for those who remember
2
وَيَا مَنْ شُكْرُهُ فَوْزٌ لِلشَّاكِرِينَ
wayā man shukruhu fawzun lishhākirīn
And O He whose thanks is a triumph for those who give thanks
3
وَيَا مَنْ طَاعَتُهُ نَجَاةٌ لِلْمُطِيعِينَ
wayā man ṭā`atuhu najātun lilmuṭī`īn
And O He whose obedience is salvation for those who obey
4
صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ
ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa ālih
Send blessings upon Muhammad and his family
5
وَاشْغَلْ قُلُوبَنَا بِذِكْرِكَ عَنْ كُلِّ ذِكْرٍ
washghal qulūbanā bidhikrika `an kulli dhikr
And occupy our hearts with Your remembrance above all remembrance
6
وَأَلْسِنَتَنَا بِشُكْرِكَ عَنْ كُلِّ شُكْرٍ
wa-alsinatanā bishukrika `an kulli shukr
And our tongues with Your thanks above all thanks
7
وَجَوَارِحَنَا بِطَاعَتِكَ عَنْ كُلِّ طَاعَةٍ
wajawāriḥanā biṭā`atika `an kulli ṭā`ah
And our limbs with Your obedience above all obedience
8
فَإِنْ قَدَّرْتَ لَنَا فَرَاغًا مِنْ شُغْلٍ فَاجْعَلْهُ فَرَاغَ سَلَامَةٍ
fa-in qaddar-ta lanā farāghan min shughlin faj`alhu farāgha salāmah
And if You decree for us free time from occupation, make it a time of safety
9
لَا تُدْرِكُنَا فِيهِ تَبِعَةٌ وَلَا تَلْحَقُنَا فِيهِ سَأْمَةٌ
lā tudrikunā fīhi tabi`atun walā talḥaqunā fīhi sa-mah
In which neither blame reaches us nor weariness overtakes us
10
حَتَّى يَنْصَرِفَ عَنَّا كُتَّابُ السَّيِّئَاتِ بِصَحِيفَةٍ خَالِيَةٍ مِنْ ذِكْرِ سَيِّئَاتِنَا
ḥattā yanṣarifa `annā kuttābus sayyi-āti biṣaḥīfatin khāliyatin min dhikri sayyi-ātinā
So that the writers of our evil deeds may depart from us with a page empty of any mention of our sins
11
وَيَتَوَلَّى كُتَّابُ الْحَسَنَاتِ عَنَّا
wayatawallā kuttābul ḥasanāti `annā
And the writers of our good deeds may leave us
12
مَسْرُورِينَ بِمَا كَتَبُوْا مِنْ حَسَنَاتِنَا
masrūrīna bimā katabū min ḥasanātinā
Delighted with what they have written of our good deeds
13
وَإِذَا انْقَضَتْ أَيَّامُ حَيَاتِنَا وَتَصَرَّمَتْ مُدَدُ أَعْمَارِنَا
wa-idhanqaḍat ayyāmu ḥayātinā wataṣarramat mudadu a`mārinā
And when the days of our lives come to an end and the terms of our ages expire
14
وَاسْتَحْضَرَتْنَا دَعْوَتُكَ الَّتِيْ لَا بُدَّ مِنْهَا وَمِنْ إِجَابَتِهَا
wastaḥḍaratnā da`watukal latī lā budda minhā wamin ijābatihā
And Your call, which must be answered, summons us
15
فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ
faṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa ālih
Then send blessings upon Muhammad and his family
16
وَاجْعَلْ خِتَامَ مَا تُحْصِيْ عَلَيْنَا كَتَبَةُ أَعْمَالِنَا
waj`al khitāma mā tuḥṣī `alaynā katabatu a`mālinā
And make the conclusion of what the writers of our deeds count against us
17
تَوْبَةً مَقْبُولَةً لَا تُوقِفُنَا بَعْدَهَا عَلَى ذَنْبٍ اجْتَرَحْنَاهُ
tawbatan maqbūlatan lā tūqifunā ba`dahā `alā dhanbinijtaraḥnāh
An accepted repentance, after which You will not call us to account for any sin we have committed
18
وَلَا مَعْصِيَةٍ اقْتَرَفْنَاهَا
walā ma`ṣiyatiniqtarafnāhā
Nor for any disobedience we have performed
19
وَلَا تَكْشِفْ عَنَّا سِتْرًا سَتَرْتَهُ عَلَى رُؤُوسِ الْأَشْهَادِ
walā takshif `annā sitran satar-tahu `alā ru-ūsil ash-hād
And do not remove from us any veil with which You have covered us in the presence of witnesses
20
يَوْمَ تَبْلُوْ أَخْبَارَ عِبَادِكَ
yawma tablū akhbāra `ibādik
On the day when You will test the news of Your servants
21
إِنَّكَ رَحِيمٌ بِمَنْ دَعَاكَ وَمُسْتَجِيبٌ لِمَنْ نَادَاكَ
innaka raḥīmun biman da`āka wamustajībun liman nādāk
Surely You are merciful to whoever calls upon You and responsive to whoever appeals to You
