بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O Allah, send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad
1
أَلْحَمْدُ للَّهِ الَّذِيْ خَلَقَ اللَّيْلَ وَالنَّهَارَ بِقُوَّتِهِ
alḥamdu llāhil ladhī khalaqal layla wan nahāra biquwwatih
All praise be to Allah who created the night and the day by His power
2
وَمَيَّزَ بَيْنَهُمَا بِقُدْرَتِهِ
wamayyaza baynahumā biqudratih
And distinguished between them by His might
3
وَجَعَلَ لِكُلِّ وَاحِد مِنْهُمَا حَدًّا مَحْدُودًا، وَأَمَدًا مَمْدُودًا
waja`ala likulli wāḥid minhumā ḥaddan maḥdūdā, wa-amadan mamdūdā
And made for each of them a limited boundary, and an extended time
4
يُولِجُ كُلَّ وَاحِد مِنْهُمَا فِيْ صَاحِبِهِ
yūliju kulla wāḥid minhumā fī ṣāḥibih
He causes each of them to enter into the other
5
وَيُولِجُ صَاحِبَهُ فِيْهِ بِتَقْدِير مِنْهُ لِلْعِبَادِ
wayūliju ṣāḥibahu fīhi bitaqdīr minhu lil`ibād
And causes the other to enter into it by His decree for His servants
6
فِيمَا يَغْـذُوهُمْ بِـهِ وَيُنْشئُهُمْ عَلَيْـهِ
fīmā yaghdhūhum bihi wayunsh-uhum `alayh
In what He nourishes them with and brings them up upon
7
فَخَلَقَ لَهُمُ اللَّيْـلَ لِيَسْكُنُوْا فِيْهِ مِنْ حَرَكَاتِ التَّعَبِ
fakhalaqa lahumul layla liyaskunū fīhi min ḥarakātit ta`ab
So He created for them the night to rest therein from the movements of toil
8
وَنَهَضَاتِ النَّصَبِ، وَجَعَلَهُ لِبَاسًا لِيَلْبَسُوْا مِنْ رَاحَتِهِ وَمَنَامِهِ
wanahaḍātin naṣab, waja`alahu libāsan liyalbasū min rāḥatihi wamanāmih
And the strains of weariness, and made it a garment for them to wear of its comfort and sleep
9
فَيَكُونَ ذٰلِكَ جَمَامًا وَقُوَّةً، وَلِيَنَالُوْا بِهِ لَذَّةً وَشَهْوَةً
fayakūna dhālika jamāman waquwwah, waliyanālū bihi ladhhatan washahwah
So that it would be a refreshment and strength, and that they might attain through it pleasure and desire
10
وَخَلَقَ لَهُمُ النَّهَارَ مُبْصِرًا لِيَبْتَغُوْا فِيْهِ مِنْ فَضْلِهِ
wakhalaqa lahumun nahāra mubṣiran liyabtaghū fīhi min faḍlih
And He created for them the day giving sight that they might seek His bounty therein
11
وَلِيَتَسَبَّبُوْا إِلَى رِزْقِهِ، وَيَسْرَحُوْا فِيْ أَرْضِهِ
waliyatasabbabū ilā rizqih, wayasraḥū fī ar-ḍih
And strive for His provision, and move about in His earth
12
طَلَبًا لِمَا فِيـهِ نَيْلُ الْعَاجِلِ مِنْ دُنْيَاهُمْ
ṭalaban limā fīhi naylul `ājili min dunyāhum
Seeking what brings immediate gain in their worldly affairs
13
وَدَرَكُ الَاجِلِ فِيْ اُخْرَاهُمْ بِكُلِّ ذٰلِكَ يُصْلِحُ شَأنَهُمْ
wadarakul ājili fī ukhrāhum bikulli dhālika yuṣliḥu sha-nahum
And attainment of the future in their hereafter. Through all this He rectifies their affairs
14
وَيَبْلُوْ أَخْبَارَهُمْ وَيَنْظُرُ كَيْفَ هُمْ فِيْ أَوْقَاتِ طَاعَتِـهِ
wayablū akhbārahum wayanẓuru kayfa hum fī awqāti ṭā`atih
And tests their conduct and observes how they are in the times of His obedience
15
وَمَنَازِلِ فُـرُوضِهِ وَمَوَاقِعِ أَحْكَامِهِ
wamanāzili furūḍihi wamawāqi`i aḥkāmih
And the stations of His obligations and the places of His rulings
16
لِيَجْزِيَ الَّذِيْنَ أَسَاءُوْا بِمَا عَمِلُوْا وَيَجْزِيَ الَّذِيْنَ أَحْسَنُوْا بِالْحُسْنَى
liyajziyal ladhīna asā-ū bimā `amilū wayajziyal ladhīna aḥsanū bil ḥusnā
That He may repay those who do evil with what they have done, and reward those who do good with goodness
17
اَللَّهُمَّ فَلَكَ الْحَمْدُ عَلَى مَافَلَقْتَ لَنَا مِنَ الْإِصْبَاحِ
allāhumma falakal ḥamdu `alā māfalaqta lanā minal iṣbāḥ
O Allah, to You belongs praise for what You have created for us of the morning
18
وَمَتَّعْتَنَا بِهِ مِنْ ضَوْءِ النَّهَارِ
wamatta`tanā bihi min ḍaw-in nahār
And allowed us to enjoy of the light of day
19
وَبَصَّرْتَنَا مِنْ مَطَالِبِ الَاقْوَاتِ
wabaṣṣar-tanā min maṭālibil aqwāt
And enabled us to see the ways of seeking provision
20
وَوَقَيْتَنَا فِيْهِ مِنْ طَوَارِقِ الْآفَاتِ
wawaqaytanā fīhi min ṭawāriqil-āfāt
And protected us therein from the occurrences of calamities
21
أَصْبَحْنَا وَأَصْبَحَتِ الَاشْيَاءُ كُلُّهَا بِجُمْلَتِهَا لَكَ
aṣbaḥnā wa-aṣbaḥatil ashyā-u kulluhā bijumlatihā lak
We have entered the morning, and all things have entered the morning, in their entirety, belonging to You
22
سَمَاؤُهَا وَأَرْضُهَا وَمَا بَثَثْتَ
sama-uhā wa-ar-ḍuhā wamā bathatht
Their heaven and their earth and what You have spread
23
فِيْ كُلِّ وَاحِد مِنْهُمَا سَاكِنُهُ وَمُتَحَرِّكُهُ وَمُقِيمُهُ
fī kulli wāḥid minhumā sākinuhu wamutaḥarrikuhu wamuqīmuh
In each of them, its inhabitants, its moving beings, and its stationed ones
24
وَشَاخِصُهُ وَمَا عَلَا فِيْ الْهَوَاءِ وَمَا كَنَّ تَحْتَ الثَّرَى
washākhiṣuhu wamā `alā fil hawā-i wamā kanna taḥtath tharā
And its travelers, and what ascends in the air and what is hidden beneath the soil
25
أَصْبَحْنَا فِيْ قَبْضَتِكَ
aṣbaḥnā fī qabḍatik
We have entered the morning in Your grasp
26
يَحْوِينَا مُلْكُكَ وَسُلْطَانُكَ وَتَضُمُّنَا مَشِيَّتُكَ
yaḥwīnā mulkuka wasulṭānuka wataḍummunā mashiyyatuk
Your kingdom and authority encompass us, and Your will contains us
27
وَنَتَصَرَّفُ عَنْ أَمْرِكَ، وَنَتَقَلَّبُ فِيْ تَدْبِيرِكَ
wanataṣarrafu `an amrik, wanataqallabu fī tadbīrik
We act according to Your command, and move about within Your management
28
لَيْسَ لَنَا مِنَ الَامْرِ إِلَّا مَا قَضَيْتَ
laysa lanā minal amri illā mā qaḍayt
We have no affair except what You have decreed
29
وَلَا مِنَ الْخَيْـرِ إِلَّا مَـا أَعْطَيْتَ
walā minal khayri illā mā a`ṭayt
And no good except what You have given
30
وَهَذَا يَوْمٌ حَادِثٌ جَدِيدٌ، وَهُوَ عَلَيْنَا شَاهِدٌ عَتِيدٌ
wahadhā yawmun ḥādithun jadīd, wahuwa `alaynā shāhidun `atīd
And this is a new day, beginning afresh, and it is a witness over us, ready
31
اِنْ أَحْسَنَّا وَدَّعَنَا بِحَمْد، وَإِنْ أسَأنَا فَارَقَنَا بِذَمّ
in aḥsannā wadda`anā biḥamd, wa-in sa-nā fāraqanā bidhamm
If we do good, it will bid us farewell with praise, and if we do evil, it will part from us with blame
32
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِـهِ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa ālih
O Allah, bless Muhammad and his family
33
وَارْزُقْنَـا حُسْنَ مُصَاحَبَتِهِ وَاعْصِمْنَا
war-zuqnā ḥusna muṣāḥabatihi wa`ṣimnā
And grant us the blessing of its companionship and protect us
34
مِنْ سُوْءِ مُفَارَقَتِهِ بِارْتِكَابِ جَرِيرَة
min sū-i mufāraqatihi bir-tikābi jarīrah
From the evil of parting from it by committing sins
35
أَوِ اقْتِرَافِ صَغِيرَة اَوْ كَبِيرَة
awiqtirāfi ṣaghīrat aw kabīrah
Or performing minor or major offenses
36
وَأجْزِلْ لَنَا فِيْهِ مِنَ الْحَسَنَاتِ وَأَخْلِنَا فِيْهِ مِنَ السَّيِّئاتِ
wa-jzil lanā fīhi minal ḥasanāti wa-akhlinā fīhi minas sayyi-āt
And give us abundant good deeds in it and empty us of evil deeds
37
وَامْلَا لَنَا مَا بَيْنَ طَرَفَيْهِ حَمْدًا وَشُكْرًا وَأَجْرًا وَذُخْرًا وَفَضْلًا وَإِحْسَانًا
wamlā lanā mā bayna ṭarafayhi ḥamdan washukran wa-ajran wadhukhran wafaḍlan wa-iḥsānā
And fill what is between its two ends with praise, gratitude, reward, treasure, favor, and kindness
38
اَللَّهُمَّ يَسِّرْ عَلَى الْكِرَامِ الْكَاتِبِينَ مَؤُونَتَنَا
allāhumma yassir `alal kirāmil kātibīna ma-ūnatanā
O Allah, ease for the noble scribes their task concerning us
39
وَامْلَا لَنَا مِنْ حَسَنَاتِنَا صَحَائِفَنَا
wamlā lanā min ḥasanātinā ṣaḥā-ifanā
And fill our pages with our good deeds
40
وَلَا تُخْزِنَا عِنْدَهُمْ بِسُوءِ أَعْمَالِنَا
walā tukhzinā `indahum bisū-i a`mālinā
And do not disgrace us before them with our evil deeds
41
اَللَّهُمَّ اجْعَلْ لَنَا فِيْ كُلِّ سَاعَة مِنْ سَاعَاتِهِ حَظًّا مِنْ عِبَادِكَ
allāhummaj`al lanā fī kulli sā`at min sā`ātihi ḥaẓẓan min `ibādik
O Allah, appoint for us in each hour of its hours a portion of Your worship
42
وَنَصِيْبًا مِنْ شُكْرِكَ وَشَاهِدَ صِدْقٍ مِنْ مَلَائِكَتِكَ
wanaṣīban min shukrika washāhida ṣidqin min malā-ikatik
And a share of gratitude to You and truthful witnesses from Your angels
43
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa ālih
O Allah, bless Muhammad and his family
44
وَاحْفَظْنَا مِنْ بَيْنِ أَيْدِيْنَا وَمِنْ خَلْفِنَا وَعَنْ أَيْمَانِنَا وَعَنْ شَمَائِلِنَا
waḥfaẓnā min bayni aydīnā wamin khalfinā wa`an aymāninā wa`an shamā-ilinā
And guard us from before us and behind us, on our right and on our left
45
وَمِنْ جَمِيْعِ نَوَاحِيْنَا حِفْظًا عَاصِمًا مِنْ مَعْصِيَتِكَ
wamin jamī`i nawāḥīnā ḥifẓan `āṣiman min ma`ṣiyatik
And from all our sides, with a guarding that will protect us from disobeying You
46
هَادِيًا إِلَى طَاعَتِكَ مُسْتَعْمِلًا لِمَحَبَّتِكَ
hādiyan ilā ṭā`atika musta`milan limaḥabbatik
Guide us to obeying You, and employ us in Your love
47
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa ālih
O Allah, bless Muhammad and his family
48
وَوَفِّقْنَا فِيْ يَوْمِنَا هٰذَا وَلَيْلَتِنَا هٰذِهِ وَفِيْ جَمِيْعِ أَيَّامِنَا
wawaffiqnā fī yawminā hādhā walaylatinā hādhihi wafī jamī`i ayyāminā
And guide us in this day of ours and this night of ours and in all our days
49
لِاسْتِعْمَالِ الْخَيْرِ وَهِجْـرَانِ الشَرِّ وَشُكْـرِ النِّعَمِ
listi`mālil khayri wahijrānil sharri washukrin ni`am
To employ goodness, to avoid evil, to thank for blessings
50
وَاتِّبَـاعِ السُّنَنِ وَمُجَانَبَةِ البِدَعِ
wattiba`is sunani wamujānabatil bida`
To follow the traditions, and to avoid innovations
51
وَالْأَمْرِ بِـالْمَعْرُوفِ وَالنَّهيِ عَنِ الْمُنْكَرِ
wal-amri bil ma`rūfi wan nahyi `anil munkar
To enjoin good and forbid evil
52
وَحِيَاطَةِ الْإِسْلاَمِ وَانْتِقَاصِ الْبَاطِلِ وَإِذْلاَلِهِ
waḥiyāṭatil islāmi wantiqāṣil bāṭili wa-idhlālih
To defend Islam, to diminish falsehood and humiliate it
53
وَنُصْرَةِ الْحَقِّ وَإِعْزَازِهِ، وَإِرْشَادِ الضَّالِّ
wanuṣratil ḥaqqi wa-i`zāzih, wa-ir-shādiḍ ḍāll
To support truth and strengthen it, to guide the misguided
54
وَمُعَاوَنَةِ الضَّعِيفِ وَإِدْرَاكِ اللَّهِيْفِ
wamu`āwanatiḍ ḍa`īfi wa-idrākillāhīf
To help the weak and assist the distressed
55
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa ālih
O Allah, bless Muhammad and his family
56
وَاجْعَلْهُ أَيْمَنَ يَوْمٍ عَهِدْنَاهُ
waj`alhu aymana yawmin `ahidnāh
And make it the most blessed day we have known
57
وَأَفْضَلَ صَاحِبٍ صَحِبْنَاهُ
wa-afḍala ṣāḥibin ṣaḥibnāh
And the best companion we have accompanied
58
وَخَيْرَ وَقْتٍ ظَلِلْنَا فِيْهِ
wakhayra waqtin ẓalilnā fīh
And the best time we have lived in
59
وَاجْعَلْنَا مِنْ أَرْضَى مَنْ مَرَّ عَلَيْهِ اللَّيْـلُ وَالنَّهَارُ مِنْ جُمْلَةِ خَلْقِكَ
waj`alnā min ar-ḍā man marra `alayhil laylu wan nahāru min jumlati khalqik
And make us among the most satisfied of those upon whom night and day have passed from all Your creation
60
وَأَشْكَـرَهُمْ لِمَا اَوْلَيْتَ مِنْ نِعَمِكَ
wa-ashkarahum limā awlayta min ni`amik
And the most thankful of them for the blessings You have granted
61
وَأَقْوَمَهُمْ بِمَـا شَرَعْتَ مِنْ شَرَائِعِكَ
wa-aqwamahum bimā shara`ta min sharā-i`ik
And the most steadfast of them in following what You have legislated of Your laws
62
وَأَوْقَفَهُمْ عَمَّا حَذَّرْتَ مِنْ نَهْيِكَ
wa-awqafahum `ammā ḥadhhar-ta min nahyik
And the most heedful of them of what You have warned against in Your prohibitions
63
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أُشْهِدُكَ وَكَفَى بِكَ شَهِيدًا وَ اُشْهِدُ سَمَاءَكَ وَأَرْضَكَ
allāhumma innī ush-hiduka wakafā bika shahīdan wa ush-hidu samā-aka wa-ar-ḍak
O Allah, I call You to witness, and sufficient are You as a witness, and I call to witness Your heaven and Your earth
64
وَمَنْ أَسْكَنْتَهُمَا مِنْ مَلَائِكَتِـكَ وَسَائِرِ خَلْقِكَ فِيْ يَوْمِيْ هَذَا
waman askantahumā min malā-ikatika wasā-iri khalqika fī yawmī hadhā
And whoever You have settled in them of Your angels and the rest of Your creation in this day of mine
65
وَسَاعَتِيْ هَذِهِ، وَلَيْلَتِيْ هَذِهِ، وَمُسْتَقَرِّيْ هَذَا
wasā`atī hadhih, walaylatī hadhih, wamustaqarrī hadhā
And this hour of mine, and this night of mine, and this my place of rest
66
أَنِّيْ أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ اَنْتَ اللَّهُ، اَلَّذِي
annī ash-hadu annaka antallāh, alladhī
That I bear witness that You are Allah, the One
67
لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا أَنْتَ قَائِمٌ بِـالْقِسْطِ
lā ilāha illā anta qā-imun bil qisṭ
There is no god but You, standing firm in justice
68
عَدْلٌ فِيْ الْحُكْم، رَؤُوفٌ بِالْعِبَادِ
`adlun fil ḥukm, ra-ūfun bil `ibād
Just in judgment, kind to the servants
69
مَالِكُ المُلْكِ رَحِيمٌ بِالْخَلْقِ
mālikul mulki raḥīmun bil khalq
Master of the Kingdom, merciful to creation
70
وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّدًا عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُوْلُكَ وَخِيَرَتُكَ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
wa-anna muḥammadan `abduka warasūluka wakhiyaratuka min khalqik
And that Muhammad is Your servant and Your messenger and Your chosen one from Your creation
71
حَمَّلْتَهُ رِسَالَتَكَ فَأَدَّاهَا وَأَمَرْتَهُ بِالنُّصْحِ لِأُمَّتِهِ فَنَصَحَ لَهَا
ḥammaltahu risālataka fa-addāhā wa-amar-tahu binnuṣ-ḥi li-ummatihi fanaṣaḥa lahā
You entrusted him with Your message and he delivered it, and You commanded him to give good counsel to his community and he gave it
72
اَللَّهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ أَكْثَرَ مَا صَلَّيْتَ عَلَى أَحَدٍ مِنْ خَلْقِكَ
allāhumma faṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa ālihi akthara mā ṣallayta `alā aḥadin min khalqik
O Allah, bless Muhammad and his family more than You have blessed anyone of Your creation
73
وَ آتِهِ عَنَّا أَفْضَلَ مَا آتَيْتَ أَحَدًا مِنْ عِبَادِكَ
wa ātihi `annā afḍala mā-ātayta aḥadan min `ibādik
And give him on our behalf better than what You have given to any of Your servants
74
وَاجْزِهِ عَنَّا أَفْضَلَ وَأَكْرَمَ مَا جَزَيْتَ أَحَدًا مِنْ أَنْبِيَائِـكَ عَنْ أُمَّتِهِ
wajzihi `annā afḍala wa-akrama mā jazayta aḥadan min anbiyā-ika `an ummatih
And reward him on our behalf better and more generously than You have rewarded any of Your prophets on behalf of his community
75
إِنَّـكَ أَنْتَ الْمَنَّانُ بِالْجَسِيمِ الْغَـافِر لِلْعَظِيمِ
innaka antal mannānu bil jasīmil ghafir lil`aẓīm
Surely You are the Bestower of great things, the Forgiver of mighty things
76
وَأَنْتَ أَرْحَمُ مِنْ كُلِّ رَحِيم
wa-anta ar-ḥamu min kulli raḥīm
And You are more merciful than every merciful one
77
فَصَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ
faṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa ālih
So bless Muhammad and his family
78
اَلطَّيِّبِينَ الطَّاهِرِينَ الْاَخْيَارِ الَانْجَبِينَ
aṭ ṭayyibīnaṭ ṭāhirīnal akhyāril anjabīn
The good, the pure, the chosen, the distinguished
