اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O' Allāh send Your blessings on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.
بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the Name of Allāh, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
اَللَّهُمَّ مَنْ تَعَبَّا وَتَهَيَّا
allāhumma man ta`abbā watahayyā
O Allah, One may call up, prepare,
وَاعَدَّ وَاسْتَعَدَّ
wā`adda wasta`add
ready oneself, and stand prepared
لِوِفَادَةٍ إِلَى مَخْلُوقٍ
liwifādatin ilā makhlūq
for purpose of coming to a creature
رَجَاءَ رِفْدِهِ
rajā-a rifdih
in the hope of gaining his aid
وَطَلَبَ نَائِلِهِ وَجَائِزَتِهِ
waṭalaba nā-ilihi wajā-izatih
and asking for his gift and present.
فَإِلَيْكَ يَا رَبِّ تَعْبِيَتِيْ وَاسْتِعْدَادِي
fa-ilayka yā rabbi ta`biyatī wasti`dādī
As for myself, to You—O my Lord—I make my preparations and readiness
رَجَاءَ عَفْوِكَ
rajā-a `afwik
hoping for Your pardon
وَطَلَبَ نَائِلِكَ وَجَائِزَتِكَ
waṭalaba nā-ilika wajā-izatik
and asking for Your gift and present.
فَلَا تُخَيِّبْ دُعَائِيْ
falā tukhayyib du`ā-ī
So, (please) do not disappoint my entreaty.
يَا مَنْ لَا يَخِيبُ عَلَيْهِ سَائِلٌ
yā man lā yakhību `alayhi sā-il
O He Who never disappoints His beseechers
وَلَا يَنْقُصُهُ نَائِلٌ
walā yanquṣuhu nā-il
and Whose prizes never decrease His ample-giving!
فَإِنِّيْ لَمْ آتِكَ ثِقَةً بِعَمَلٍ صَالِحٍ عَمِلْتُهُ
fa-innī lam-ātika thiqatan bi`amalin ṣāliḥin `amiltuh
I have not come to You with confidence of a righteous deed that I have done
وَلَا لِوِفَادَةِ مَخْلُوقٍ رَجَوْتُهُ
walā liwifādati makhlūqin rajawtuh
nor have I had any hope in a grant of any creature.
اَتَيْتُكَ مُقِرًّا عَلَى نَفْسِيْ بِالْإِسَاءَةِ وَالظُّلْمِ
ataytuka muqirran `alā nafsī bil isā-ati waẓ ẓulm
Rather, I have come to You professing myself to be evildoer and transgressor
مُعْتَرِفًا بِانْ لَا حُجَّةَ لِيْ وَلَا عُذْرَ
mu`tarifan bin lā ḥujjata lī walā `udhr
and confessing that I lack any pretext or excuse.
اَتَيْتُكَ ارْجُوْ عَظِيمَ عَفْوِكَ
ataytukar-jū `aẓīma `afwik
I have come to You hoping for Your great pardon
اَلَّذِيْ عَفَوْتَ بِهِ عَنِ الْخَاطِئِيْنَ
al ladhī `afawta bihi `anil khāṭi-īn
due to which You have pardoned the wrongdoers.
فَلَمْ يَمْنَعْكَ طُولُ عُكُوفِهِمْ عَلَى عَظِيمِ الْجُرْمِ
falam yamna`ka ṭūlu `ukūfihim `alā `aẓīmil jur-m
Hence, their long-lasting retirement to their grave offenses has not prevented You
اِنْ عُدْتَ عَلَيْهِمْ بِالرَّحْمَةِ
in `udta `alayhim birraḥmah
from turning to them with mercy.
فَيَا مَنْ رَحْمَتُهُ وَاسِعَةٌ
fayā man raḥmatuhu wāsi`ah
O He Whose mercy is huge
وَعَفْوُهُ عَظيمٌ
wa`afwuhu `aẓim
and Whose pardon is great;
يَا عَظيـمُ يَا عَظيـمُ يَا عَظيـمُ
yā `aẓimu yā `aẓimu yā `aẓim
O All-great, O All-great, O All-great;
لَا يَرُدُّ غَضَبَكَ إِلَّا حِلْمُكَ
lā yaruddu ghaḍabaka illā ḥilmuk
nothing can repel Your rage except Your forbearance
وَلَا يُنْجِيْ مِنْ سَخَطِكَ إِلَّا التَّضَرُّعُ إِلَيْكَ
walā yunjī min sakhaṭika illat taḍarru`u ilayk
and nothing can save from Your wrath except imploring earnestly to You.
فَهَبْ لِيْ يَا إِلٰهِيْ فَرَجًا
fahab lī yā ilāhī farajā
So, my God, (please) grant me a relief
بِالْقُدْرَةِ الَّتِيْ تُحْيِيْ بِهَا مَيْتَ الْبِلاَدِ
bil qudratil latī tuḥyī bihā maytal bilād
in the name of the power through which You restore to life the derelict lands,
وَلَا تُهْلِكْنِيْ غَمًّا حَتَّى تَسْتَجِيبَ لِي
walā tuhliknī ghamman ḥattā tastajība lī
and do not cause me to perish out of grief until You respond to me
وَتُعَرِّفَنِيْ الْاِجَابَةَ فِيْ دُعَائِي
watu`arrifanil ijābata fī du`ā-ī
and show me signs of Your response to my prayers.
وَ اَذِقْنِيْ طَعْمَ الْعَافِيَةِ إِلَى مُنْتَهَى اَجَلِي
wa adhiqnī ṭa`mal `āfiyati ilā muntahā ajalī
(please) Make me taste the flavor of wellbeing up to the end of my lifetime,
وَلَا تُشْمِتْ بِيْ عَدُوِّي
walā tushmit bī `aduwwī
do not make my enemies gloat over me,
وَلَا تُسَلِّطْهُ عَلَيَّ
walā tusalliṭ-hu `alayy
do not give them a hand over me,
وَلَا تُمَكِّنْهُ مِنْ عُنُقِي
walā tumakkinhu min `unuqī
and do not make them control over me.
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنْ وَضَعْتَنِيْ فَمَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَرْفَعُنِي
allāhumma in waḍa`tanī faman dhal ladhī yar-fa`unī
O Allah, If You humiliate me, who can then exalt me?
وَإِنْ رَفَعْتَنِيْ فَمَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَضَعُنِي
wa-in rafa`tanī faman dhal ladhī yaḍa`unī
And if You exalt me, who can then humiliate me?
وَإِنْ اَهْلَكْتَنِيْ فَمَنْ ذَا الَّذِيْ يَعْرِضُ لَكَ فِيْ عَبْدِكَ
wa-in ahlaktanī faman dhal ladhī ya`riḍu laka fī `abdik
If You annihilate me, who can then interfere before You concerning the affair of me—Your slave
اَوْ يَسْأَلُكَ عَنْ امْرِهِ
aw yas-aluka `anmrih
or who can intercede to ask You about it?
وَقَدْ عَلِمْتُ اَنَّهُ لَيْسَ فِيْ حُكْمِكَ ظُلْمٌ
waqad `alimtu annahu laysa fī ḥukmika ẓulm
I have already known for sure that Your decrees are devoid of injustice
وَلَا فِيْ نَقَمَتِكَ عَجَلَةٌ
walā fī naqamatika `ajalah
and Your punishment does not count on immediateness.
وَإِنَّمَا يَعْجَلُ مَنْ يَخَافُ الْفَوْتَ
wa-innamā ya`jalu man yakhāful fawt
Verily, immediateness is the work of him who fears lest he may miss,
وَإِنَّمَا يَحْتَاجُ إِلَى الظُّلْمِ الضَّعِيفُ
wa-innamā yaḥtāju ilaẓ ẓulmiḍ ḍa`īf
and only do the weak need injustice.
وَقَدْ تَعَالَيْتَ يَا إِلٰهِيْ عَنْ ذٰلِكَ عُلُوًّا كَبِيرًا
waqad ta`ālayta yā ilāhī `an dhālika `uluwwan kabīrā
As for You, O my God, You are too exalted to be so—Exalted and Great You are beyond all measure!
اَللَّهُمَّ إِنِّيْ اَعُوْذُ بِكَ فَأَعِذْنِي
allāhumma innī a`ūdhu bika fa-a`idhnī
O Allah, I take refuge in You; so, (please) have protection upon me!
وَاسْتَجيرُ بِكَ فَأَجِرْنِي
wastajiru bika fa-ajir-nī
I call for Your safekeeping; so, (please) keep me under Your security!
وَاسْتَرْزِقُكَ فَأَرْزُقْنِي
wastar-ziquka fa-ar-zuqnī
I appeal for Your sustenance; so, (please) provide me with sustenance!
وَ اَتَوَكَّلُ عَلَيْكَ فَاكْفِنِي
wa atawakkalu `alayka fakfinī
I put trust in You; so, (please) keep me under Your supervision!
وَاسْتَنْصِرُكَ عَلَى عَدُوِّيْ فَانْصُرْنِي
wastanṣiruka `alā `aduwwī fanṣur-nī
I call for Your aid against my enemy; so, (please) grant me support!
وَاسْتَعِينُ بِكَ فَأَعِنِّي
wasta`īnu bika fa-a`innī
I seek Your assistance; so, (please) assist me!
وَاسْتَغْفِرُكَ يَا إِلٰهِيْ فَاغْفِرْ لِي
wastaghfiruka yā ilāhī faghfir lī
I ask for Your forgiveness; so, (please) forgive me.
آمِيْنَ آمِيْنَ آمِيْنَ
āmīna-āmīna-āmīn
So, respond! Respond! Respond!
