اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O' Allāh send Your blessings on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.
بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the Name of Allāh, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنَّ هٰذَا الشَّهْرَ الْمُبَارَكَ
allāhumma inna hādhash shahral mubārak
O Allah, this blessed month
اَلَّذِيْ أُنْزِلَ فِيهِ الْقُرْآنُ
al ladhī unzila fīhil qur-ān
in which the Qur'an was revealed
وَجُعِلَ هُدًى لِلنَّاسِ
waju`ila hudan linnās
and was made guidance for people
وَبَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ الْهُدىٰ وَالْفُرْقَانِ
wabayyinātin minal hudā walfur-qān
and clear proofs of the guidance, and the Criterion (of right and wrong),
قَدْ حَضَرَ
qad ḥaḍar
has commenced.
فَسَلِّمْنَا فِيهِ
fasallimnā fīh
So, (please) keep us out of blemish during it,
وَسَلِّمْهُ لَنَا
wasallimhu lanā
keep it sound for us,
وَتَسَلَّمْهُ مِنَّا فِيْ يُسْرٍ مِنْكَ وَعَافِيَةٍ
watasallamhu minnā fī yusrin minka wa`āfiyah
and receive it from us with means of easiness and good health from You.
يَا مَنْ أَخَذَ الْقَلِيلَ وَشَكَرَ الْكَثِيرَ
yā man akhadhal qalīla washakaral kathīr
O He Who has accepted the little (deed) and thanked for the much,
اِقْبَلْ مِنِّي الْيَسِيرَ
iqbal minnil yasīr
(please) accept from me the little (deed).
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ
allāhumma innī as-aluk
O Allah, I beseech You
أَنْ تَجْعَلَ لِيْ إِلٰى كُلِّ خَيْرٍ سَبِيلًا
an taj`ala lī ilā kulli khayrin sabīlā
to make for me a path to every decency,
وَمِنْ كُلِّ مَا لَاتُحِبُّ مَانِعًا
wamin kulli mā lātuḥibbu māni`ā
and to make for me a barrier against everything that You do not like.
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
يَا مَنْ عَفَا عَنِّيْ وَعَمَّا خَلَوْتُ بِهِ مِنَ السَّيِّئاتِ
yā man `afā `annī wa`ammā khalawtu bihi minas sayyi-āt
O He Who has pardoned me and overlooked the misdeeds that I have committed secretly!
يَا مَنْ لَمْ يُؤاخِذْنِيْ بِارْتِكَابِ الْمَعَاصِيْ
yā man lam yu-khidhnī bir-tikābil ma`āṣī
O He Who has not punished me for my committing acts of disobedience to Him!
عَفْوَكَ عَفْوَكَ عَفْوَكَ يَا كَرِيمُ
`afwaka `afwaka `afwaka yā karīm
I seek Your pardon, I seek Your pardon, I seek Your pardon, O All-generous!
إِلٰهِيْ وَعَظْتَنِيْ فَلَمْ أَتَّعِظْ
ilāhī wa`aẓtanī falam atta`iẓ
O my God, You advised me, but I have not followed Your advice
وَزَجَرْتَنِيْ عَنْ مَحَارِمِكَ فَلَمْ أَنْزَجِرْ
wazajar-tanī `an maḥārimika falam anzajir
and You rebuked me for violating that which You have deemed forbidden, but I have not stopped.
فَمَا عُذْرِيْ
famā `udhrī
Now, what is my excuse?
فَاعْفُ عَنِّيْ يَا كَرِيمُ
fa`fu `annī yā karīm
So, (please) pardon me, O All-generous!
عَفْوَكَ عَفْوَكَ
`afwaka `afwak
I seek Your pardon, I seek Your pardon!
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ
allāhumma innī as-aluk
O Allah, I beseech You
اَلرَّاحَةَ عِنْدَ الْمَوْتِ
ar rāḥata `indal mawt
for rest at death
وَالْعَفْوَ عِنْدَ الْحِسَابِ
wal`afwa `indal ḥisāb
and for pardon at calling to account.
عَظُمَ الذَّنْبُ مِنْ عَبْدِكَ
`aẓumadh dhanbu min `abdik
Great is the sin of Your servant;
فَلْيَحْسُنِ التَّجَاوُزُ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ
falyaḥsunit tajāwuzu min `indik
so, let Your overlooking him be excellent.
يَا أَهْلَ التَّقْوٰى وَيَا أَهْلَ الْمَغْفِرَةِ
yā ahlat taqwā wayā ahlal maghfirah
O He Who is worth being feared and is worth forgiving!
عَفْوَكَ عَفْوَكَ
`afwaka `afwak
I seek Your pardon, I seek Your pardon.
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي عَبْدُكَ بْنُ عَبْدِكَ بْنُ أَمَتِكَ
allāhumma innī `abdukabnu `abdikabnu amatik
O Allah, I am Your servant and the son of Your servant and Your she-servant
ضَعِيفٌ فَقِيرٌ إِلٰى رَحْمَتِكَ
ḍa`īfun faqīrun ilā raḥmatik
and I am weak and in need for Your mercy;
وَأَنْتَ مُنْزِلُ الْغِنىٰ وَالْبَرَكَةِ عَلَى الْعِبَادِ
wa-anta munzilul ghinā walbarakati `alal `ibād
while You are the Pourer of wealth and bless on the servants (of You),
قَاهِرٌ مُقْتَدِرٌ
qāhirun muqtadir
You are omnipotent and full of power,
أَحْصَيْتَ أَعْمَالَهُمْ
aḥṣayta a`mālahum
You have recorded all their (i.e. Your servants) deeds,
وَقَسَمْتَ أَرْزَاقَهُمْ
waqasamta ar-zāqahum
decided the sustenance of each one them,
وَجَعَلْتَهُمْ مُخْتَلِفَةً أَلْسِنَتُهُمْ وَأَلْوَانُهُمْ
waja`altahum mukhtalifatan alsinatuhum wa-alwānuhum
and made them of different languages and colors
خَلْقًا مِنْ بَعْدِ خَلْقٍ
khalqan min ba`di khalq
in different stages of creation.
وَلَا يَعْلَمُ الْعِبَادُ عِلْمَكَ
walā ya`lamul `ibādu `ilmak
Your servants can never attain Your knowledge
وَلَا يَقْدِرُ الْعِبَادُ قَدْرَكَ
walā yaqdirul `ibādu qadrak
and Your servants can never recognize the real estimate that is due to You.
وَكُلُّنَا فَقِيرٌ إِلٰى رَحْمَتِكَ
wakullunā faqīrun ilā raḥmatik
All of us are needy for Your mercy.
فَلَا تَصْرِفْ عَنِّيْ وَجْهَكَ
falā taṣrif `annī wajhak
So, (please) do not turn Your Face away from me
وَاجْعَلْنِيْ مِنْ صَالِحِيْ خَلْقِكَ
waj`alnī min ṣāliḥī khalqik
and include me with the virtuous creatures of You
فِيْ الْعَمَلِ وَالْأَمَلِ
fil `amali wal-amal
in deeds, hopes,
وَالْقَضَاءِ وَالْقَدَرِ
walqaḍā-i walqadar
and Your decisions (for me).
اَللّٰهُمَّ أَبْقِنِيْ خَيْرَ الْبَقَاءِ
allāhumma abqinī khayral baqā
O Allah, (please) keep me alive in the best manner of living,
وَأَفْنِنِيْ خَيْرَ الْفَنَاءِ عَلَى مُوَالَاةِ أَوْلِيَائِكَ
wa-afninī khayral fanā-i `alā muwālāti awliyā-ik
decide for me to die in the best manner of death keeping loyal to Your representatives,
وَمُعَادَاةِ أَعْدَائِكَ
wamu`ādāti a`dā-ik
incurring the enmity of Your enemies,
وَالرَّغْبَةِ إِلَيْكَ وَالرَّهْبَةِ مِنْكَ
war raghbati ilayka war rahbati mink
keeping desiring for You, fearing from You,
وَالْخُشُوعِ وَالْوَفَاءِ وَالتَّسْلِيمِ لَكَ
walkhushū`i walwafā-i wat taslīmi lak
and submitting to You, being loyal to You, complying with You,
وَالتَّصْدِيقِ بِكِتَابِكَ
wat taṣdīqi bikitābik
believing in Your Book,
وَاتِّبَاعِ سُنَّةِ رَسُولِكَ
wattibā`i sunnati rasūlik
and following Your Prophet’s instructions.
اَللّٰهُمَّ مَا كَانَ فِيْ قَلْبِيْ
allāhumma mā kāna fī qalbī
O Allah, as for whatever I bear in my heart,
مِنْ شَكٍّ أَوْ رِيبَةٍ
min shakkin aw rībah
including suspicion, doubt,
أَوْ جُحُودٍ أَوْ قُنُوطٍ
aw juḥūdin aw qunūṭ
denial, despair,
أَوْ فَرَحٍ أَوْ بَذَخٍ أَوْ بَطَرٍ
aw faraḥin aw badhakhin aw baṭar
(excessive) joy, lavish expenditure or recklessness,
أَوْ خُيَلاءَ أَوْ رِيَاءٍ أَوْ سُمْعَةٍ
aw khuyalā-a aw riyā-in aw sum`ah
pride, arrogance, ostentation,
أَوْ شِقَاقٍ أَوْ نِفَاقٍ
aw shiqāqin aw nifāq
discord, hypocrisy,
أَوْ كُفْرٍ أَوْ فُسُوقٍ أَوْ عِصْيَانٍ
aw kufrin aw fusūqin aw `iṣyān
unbelief, licentiousness, disobedience,
أَوْ عَظَمَةٍ أَوْ شَيْءٍ لَاتُحِبُّ
aw `aẓamatin aw shay-in lātuḥibb
conceit, or anything else that You do not like;
فَأَسْأَلُكَ يَا رَبِّ أَنْ تُبَدِّلَنِيْ مَكَانَهُ إِيمَانًا بِوَعْدِكَ
fa-as-aluka yā rabbi an tubaddilanī makānahu īmānan biwa`dik
I thus beseech You, O my Lord, to substitute all that with belief in Your promise,
وَوَفَاءً بِعَهْدِكَ
wawafā-an bi`ahdik
fulfillment of my covenant to You,
وَرِضًا بِقَضَائِكَ
wariḍan biqaḍā-ik
satisfaction with what You decide for me,
وَزُهْدًا فِيْ الدُّنْيَا
wazuhdan fid dunyā
indifference to the worldly pleasures,
وَرَغْبَةً فِيمَا عِنْدَكَ
waraghbatan fīmā `indak
desire for that which You have,
وَأَثَرَةً وَطُمَأْنِيْنَةً
wa-atharatan waṭuma-nīnah
altruism, tranquility,
وَتَوْبَةً نَصُوحًا
watawbatan naṣūḥā
and sincere repentance.
أَسْأَلُكَ ذٰلِكَ يَا رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
as-aluka dhālika yā rabbal `ālamīn
I beseech You for all that, O Lord of the worlds!
إِلٰهِيْ أَنْتَ مِنْ حِلْمِكَ تُعْصىٰ فَكَأَنَّكَ لَمْ تَرَ
ilāhī anta min ḥilmika tu`ṣā faka-annaka lam tar
O my God, because You are so forbearing, You are disobeyed as if You are not present,
وَمِنْ كَرَمِكَ وَجُودِكَ تُطَاعُ فَكَأَنَّكَ لَمْ تُعْصَ
wamin karamika wajūdika tuṭā`u faka-annaka lam tu`ṣ
and because You are so generous and magnanimous, You are obeyed as if You have not been disobeyed at all.
وَأَنَا وَمَنْ لَمْ يَعْصِكَ سُكَّانُ أَرْضِكَ
wa-ana waman lam ya`ṣika sukkānu ar-ḍik
Both those who have not disobeyed You and I are the inhabitants of Your lands;
فَكُنْ عَلَيْنَا بِالْفَضْلِ جَوَادًا
fakun `alaynā bil faḍli jawādā
so, (please) confer magnanimously upon us with Your favors
وَبِالْخَيْرِ عَوَّادًا
wabil khayri `awwādā
and always refer to us with Your goodness.
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
وَصَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِهِ صَلاةً دَائِمَةً
waṣallallāhu `alā muḥammadin wa ālihi ṣalātan dā-imah
May Allah bless Muhammad and his Household with endless blessings
لَاتُحْصىٰ وَلَا تُعَدُّ
lātuḥṣā walā tu`add
that are innumerable, uncountable,
وَلَا يَقْدِرُ قَدْرَهَا غَيْرُكَ
walā yaqdiru qadrahā ghayruk
and none can do it save You.
يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
