وَوَاعَدْنَا مُوْسَى ثَلَاثِيْنَ لَيْلَةً
wawā`adnā mūsā thalāthīna laylah
And We appointed with Moses a time of thirty nights
وَأَتْمَمْنَاهَا بِعَشْرٍ
wa-atmamnāhā bi`ashr
and completed them with ten more,
فَتَمَّ مِيْقَاتُ رَبِّهِ أَرْبَعِيْنَ لَيْلَةً
fatamma mīqātu rabbihi ar-ba`īna laylah
so the appointed time of his Lord was complete forty nights,
وَقَالَ مُوْسَى لِأَخِيْهِ هَارُوْنَ اخْلُفْنِيْ فِيْ قَوْمِيْ
waqāla mūsā li-akhīhi hārūnakhlufnī fī qawmī
and Moses said to his brother Aaron: Take my place among my people,
وَأَصْلِحْ وَلَا تَتَّبِعْ سَبِيْلَ الْمُفْسِدِيْنَ
wa-aṣliḥ walā tattabi` sabīlal mufsidīn
and act well and do not follow the way of the mischief-makers.
