1
اَلسَّلامُ عَلٰى وَلِيِّ اللَّهِ وَحَبِيبِهِ
as salāmu `alā waliyyillāhi waḥabībih
Peace be upon the friend of Allah and His beloved
2
اَلسَّلامُ عَلٰى خَلِيلِ اللَّهِ وَنَجِيبِهِ
as salāmu `alā khalīlillāhi wanajībih
Peace be upon the intimate friend of Allah and His chosen one
3
اَلسَّلامُ عَلٰى صَفِيِّ اللَّهِ وَابْنِ صَفِيِّهِ
as salāmu `alā ṣafiyyillāhi wabni ṣafiyyih
Peace be upon the elite of Allah and the son of His elite
4
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَى الْحُسَيْنِ الْمَظْلُومِ الشَّهِيدِ
as salāmu `alal ḥusaynil maẓlūmish shahīd
Peace be upon Husayn, the oppressed, the martyr
5
اَلسَّلامُ عَلٰى أَسِيرِ الْكُرُبَاتِ
as salāmu `alā asīril kurubāt
Peace be upon the captive of afflictions
6
وَقَتِيلِ الْعَبَرَاتِ
waqatīlil `abarāt
And the one slain, causing tears to flow
7
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَشْهَدُ أَنَّهُ وَلِيُّكَ وَابْنُ وَلِيِّكَ
allāhumma innī ash-hadu annahu waliyyuka wabnu waliyyik
O Allah, I bear witness that he is Your friend and the son of Your friend
8
وَصَفِيُّكَ وَابْنُ صَفِيِّكَ
waṣafiyyuka wabnu ṣafiyyik
And Your chosen one and the son of Your chosen one
9
اَلْفَائِزُ بِكَرَامَتِكَ
al fā-izu bikarāmatik
The one who attained Your honor
10
أَكْرَمْتَهُ بِالشَّهَادَةِ
akramtahu bishhahādah
You honored him with martyrdom
11
وَحَبَوْتَهُ بِالسَّعَادَةِ
waḥabawtahu bissa`ādah
And bestowed upon him happiness
12
وَاجْتَبَيْتَهُ بِطِيبِ الْوِلادَةِ
wajtabaytahu biṭībil wilādah
And selected him with a pure birth
13
وَجَعَلْتَهُ سَيِّدًا مِنَ السَّادَةِ
waja`altahu sayyidan minas sādah
And made him a master from among the masters
14
وَقَائِدًا مِنَ الْقَادَةِ
waqā-idan minal qādah
And a leader from among the leaders
15
وَذَائِدًا مِنَ الذَّادَةِ
wadhā-idan minadh dhādah
And a defender from among the defenders
16
وَأَعْطَيْتَهُ مَوَارِيثَ الْأَنْبِيَاءِ
wa-a`ṭaytahu mawārīthal anbiyā
And You gave him the inheritance of the Prophets
17
وَجَعَلْتَهُ حُجَّةً عَلٰى خَلْقِكَ مِنَ الْأَوْصِيَاءِ
waja`altahu ḥujjatan `alā khalqika minal awṣiyā
And made him a proof over Your creation from among the successors
18
فَأَعْذَرَ فِيْ الدُّعَاءِ
fa-a`dhara fid du`ā
He left no excuse in his call
19
وَمَنَحَ النُّصْحَ
wamanaḥan nuṣ-ḥ
And offered sincere advice
20
وَبَذَلَ مُهْجَتَهُ فِيكَ
wabadhala muhjatahu fīk
And sacrificed his life for You
21
لِيَسْتَنْقِذَ عِبَادَكَ مِنَ الْجَهَالَةِ
liyastanqidha `ibādaka minal jahālah
To save Your servants from ignorance
22
وَحَيْرَةِ الضَّلالَةِ
waḥayratiḍ ḍalālah
And the confusion of misguidance
23
وَقَدْ تَوَازَرَ عَلَيْهِ مَنْ غَرَّتْهُ الدُّنْيَا
waqad tawāzara `alayhi man gharrat-hud dunyā
Those who were deceived by the world conspired against him
24
وَبَاعَ حَظَّهُ بِالْأَرْذَلِ الْأَدْنىٰ
wabā`a ḥaẓẓahu bil ar-dhalil adnā
And sold their share for the lowest, meanest price
25
وَشَرَىٰ آخِرَتَهُ بِالثَّمَنِ الْأَوْكَسِ
washarā-ākhiratahu bilthhamanil awkas
And purchased their hereafter for the most reduced value
26
وَتَغَطْرَسَ وَتَرَدَّىٰ فِيْ هَوَاهُ
wataghaṭrasa wataraddā fī hawāh
And they became arrogant and fell into their desires
27
وَأَسْخَطَكَ وَأَسْخَطَ نَبِيَّكَ
wa-askhaṭaka wa-askhaṭa nabiyyak
And angered You and Your Prophet
28
وَأَطَاعَ مِنْ عِبَادِكَ أَهْلَ الشِّقَاقِ وَالنِّفَاقِ
wa-aṭā`a min `ibādika ahlash shiqāqi wan nifāq
And obeyed from among Your servants the people of discord and hypocrisy
29
وَحَمَلَةَ الْأَوْزَارِ الْمُسْتَوْجِبِينَ النَّارَ
waḥamalatal awzāril mustawjibīnan nār
The bearers of burdens who deserve the Fire
30
فَجَاهَدَهُمْ فِيكَ صَابِرًا مُحْتَسِبًا
fajāhadahum fīka ṣābiran muḥtasibā
So he fought against them for Your sake with patience, anticipating Your reward
31
حَتَّىٰ سُفِكَ فِيْ طَاعَتِكَ دَمُهُ
ḥattā sufika fī ṭā`atika damuh
Until his blood was shed in Your obedience
32
وَاسْتُبِيحَ حَرِيمُهُ
wastubīḥa ḥarīmuh
And his sanctity was violated
33
اَللّٰهُمَّ فَالْعَنْهُمْ لَعْنًا وَبِيلًا
allāhumma fal`anhum la`nan wabīlā
O Allah, curse them with a severe curse
34
وَعَذِّبْهُمْ عَذَابًا أَلِيمًا
wa`adhhibhum `adhāban alīmā
And punish them with a painful punishment
35
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ
as salāmu `alayka yabna rasūlillāh
Peace be upon you, O son of the Messenger of Allah
36
اَلسَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا ابْنَ سَيِّدِ الْأَوْصِيَاءِ
as salāmu `alayka yabna sayyidil awṣiyā
Peace be upon you, O son of the master of successors
37
أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ أَمِيْنُ اللَّهِ وَابْنُ أَمِينِهِ
ash-hadu annaka amīnullāhi wabnu amīnih
I bear witness that you are the trustee of Allah and the son of His trustee
38
عِشْتَ سَعِيدًا
`ishta sa`īdā
You lived happily
39
وَمَضَيْتَ حَمِيدًا
wamaḍayta ḥamīdā
And passed away praised
40
وَمُتَّ فَقِيْدًا مَظْلُومًا شَهِيدًا
wamutta faqīdan maẓlūman shahīdā
And died missed, oppressed, and martyred
41
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ اللّٰهَ مُنْجِزٌ مَا وَعَدَكَ
wa-ash-hadu annallāha munjizun mā wa`adak
And I bear witness that Allah fulfills what He promised you
42
وَمُهْلِكٌ مَنْ خَذَلَكَ
wamuhlikun man khadhalak
And destroys those who abandoned you
43
وَمُعَذِّبٌ مَنْ قَتَلَكَ
wamu`adhhibun man qatalak
And punishes those who killed you
44
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ وَفَيْتَ بِعَهْدِ اللَّهِ
wa-ash-hadu annaka wafayta bi`ahdillāh
And I bear witness that you fulfilled Allah's covenant
45
وَجَاهَدْتَ فِيْ سَبِيلِهِ حَتّىٰ أَتَاكَ الْيَقِينُ
wajāhadta fī sabīlihi ḥattā atākal yaqīn
And strove in His way until certainty came to you
46
فَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ قَتَلَكَ
fala`anallāhu man qatalak
May Allah curse those who killed you
47
وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ مَنْ ظَلَمَكَ
wala`anallāhu man ẓalamak
And may Allah curse those who wronged you
48
وَلَعَنَ اللَّهُ أُمَّةً سَمِعَتْ بِذٰلِكَ فَرَضِيَتْ بِهِ
wala`anallāhu ummatan sami`at bidhālika faraḍiyat bih
And may Allah curse the nation that heard about it and was pleased with it
49
اَللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّيْ أُشْهِدُكَ أَنِّيْ وَلِيٌّ لِمَنْ وَالَاهُ
allāhumma innī ush-hiduka annī waliyyun liman wālāh
O Allah, I make You witness that I am loyal to those who are loyal to him
50
وَعَدُوٌّ لِمَنْ عَادَاهُ
wa`aduwwun liman `ādāh
And enemy to those who are enemies to him
51
بِأَبِيْ أَنْتَ وَأُمِّيْ يَا ابْنَ رَسُولِ اللَّهِ
bi-abī anta wa-ummī yabna rasūlillāh
May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O son of the Messenger of Allah
52
أَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ كُنْتَ نُورًا فِيْ الْأَصْلاَبِ الشَّامِخَةِ
ash-hadu annaka kunta nūran fil aṣlābish shāmikhah
I bear witness that you were a light in the lofty loins
53
وَالْأَرْحَامِ الْمُطَهَّرَةِ
wal-ar-ḥāmil muṭahharah
And purified wombs
54
لَمْ تُنَجِّسْكَ الْجَاهِلِيَّةُ بِأَنْجَاسِهَا
lam tunajjiskal jāhiliyyatu bi-anjāsihā
The ignorance did not defile you with its impurities
55
وَلَمْ تُلْبِسْكَ الْمُدْلَهِمَّاتُ مِنْ ثِيَابِهَا
walam tulbiskal mudlahimmātu min thiyābihā
And the dark calamities did not clothe you with their garments
56
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ مِنْ دَعَائِمِ الدِّينِ
wa-ash-hadu annaka min da`ā-imid dīn
And I bear witness that you are from the pillars of religion
57
وَأَرْكَانِ الْمُسْلِمِيْنَ
wa-ar-kānil muslimīn
And the cornerstones of Muslims
58
وَمَعْقِلِ الْمُؤْمِنِيْنَ
wama`qilil mu-minīn
And the fortress of believers
59
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ الْإِمَامُ الْبَرُّ التَّقِيُّ
wa-ash-hadu annakal imāmul barrut taqiyy
And I bear witness that you are the Imam, righteous, pious
60
اَلرَّضِيُّ الزَّكِيُّ
ar raḍiyyuz zakiyy
Well-pleased, pure
61
اَلْهَادِيْ الْمَهْدِيُّ
al hādil mahdiyy
The guide, the guided one
62
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ الْأَئِمَّةَ مِنْ وُلْدِكَ كَلِمَةُ التَّقْوٰى
wa-ash-hadu annal a-immata min wuldika kalimatut taqwā
And I bear witness that the Imams from your descendants are the word of piety
63
وَأَعْلاَمُ الْهُدىٰ
wa-a`lāmul hudā
And the banners of guidance
64
وَالْعُرْوَةُ الْوُثْقٰى
wal`ur-watul wuthqā
And the firmest handhold
65
وَالْحُجَّةُ عَلٰى أَهْلِ الدُّنْيَا
walḥujjatu `alā ahlid dunyā
And the proof upon the people of the world
66
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنِّيْ بِكُمْ مُؤْمِنٌ وَبِإِيَابِكُمْ
wa-ash-hadu annī bikum mu-minun wabi-iyābikum
And I bear witness that I believe in you and in your return
67
مُوقِنٌ بِشَرَايِعِ دِينِيْ وَخَوَاتِيمِ عَمَلِي
mūqinun bisharāyi`i dīnī wakhawātīmi `amalī
Certain in the laws of my religion and the conclusion of my deeds
68
وَقَلْبِيْ لِقَلْبِكُمْ سِلْمٌ
waqalbī liqalbikum silm
And my heart is at peace with your heart
69
وَأَمْرِيْ لِأَمْرِكُمْ مُتَّبِعٌ
wa-amrī li-amrikum muttabi`
And my affairs follow your affairs
70
وَنُصْرَتِيْ لَكُمْ مُعَدَّةٌ
wanuṣratī lakum mu`addah
And my support for you is ready
71
حَتَّىٰ يَأْذَنَ اللَّهُ لَكُمْ
ḥattā ya-dhanallāhu lakum
Until Allah permits you
72
فَمَعَكُمْ مَعَكُمْ
fama`akum ma`akum
So I am with you, with you
73
لَامَعَ عَدُّوِكُمْ
lāma`a `adduwikum
Not with your enemies
74
صَلَوَاتُ اللَّهِ عَلَيْكُمْ
ṣalawātullāhi `alaykum
May Allah's blessings be upon you
75
وَعَلٰى أَرْوَاحِكُمْ وَأَجْسَادِكُمْ
wa`alā ar-wāḥikum wa-ajsādikum
And upon your souls and bodies
76
وَشَاهِدِكُمْ وَغَائِبِكُمْ
washāhidikum waghā-ibikum
And those of you present and absent
77
وَظَاهِرِكُمْ وَبَاطِنِكُمْ
waẓāhirikum wabāṭinikum
And your apparent and your hidden
78
آمِيْنَ رَبَّ الْعَالَمِيْنَ
āmīna rabbal `ālamīn
Amen, O Lord of the worlds
