بِسْمِ اللَّـهِ الرَّحْمَـٰنِ الرَّحِيمِ
bismillāhir raḥmānir raḥīm
In the Name of Allāh, the All-beneficent, the All-merciful.
اَللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ وَ آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ
allāhumma ṣalli `alā muḥammadin wa āli muḥammad
O' Allāh send Your blessings on Muhammad and the family of Muhammad.

يَا عَلِيُّ يَا عَظِيمُ
yā `aliyyu yā `aẓīm
O Most High! O All-great!
2
يَا غَفُورُ يَا رَحِيمُ
yā ghafūru yā raḥīm
O All-forgiving! O All-merciful!
3
أَنْتَ الرَّبُّ الْعَظِيمُ
antar rabbul `aẓīm
You are the All-great Lord
4
اَلَّذِيْ لَيْسَ كَمِثْلِهِ شَيْءٌ
al ladhī laysa kamithlihi shay
like Whom there is nothing,
5
وَهُوَ السَّمِيعُ الْبَصِيرُ
wahuwas samī`ul baṣīr
and He is the All-hearing, the All-aware.
6
وَهٰذَا شَهْرٌ عَظَّمْتَهُ وَكَرَّمْتَهُ
wahādhā shahrun `aẓẓamtahu wakarramtah
This is a month that You have glorified, ennobled,
7
وَشَرَّفْتَهُ وَفَضَّلْتَهُ عَلَى الشُّهُورِ
washarraftahu wafaḍḍaltahu `alash shuhūr
honored, and preferred to the other months.
8
وَهُوَ الشَّهْرُ الَّذِيْ فَرَضْتَ صِيَامَهُ عَلَيَّ
wahuwash shahrul ladhī faraḍta ṣiyāmahu `alayy
It is the month that You imposed upon me to observe fasting in it.
9
وَهُوَ شَهْرُ رَمَضَانَ
wahuwa shahru ramaḍān
It is the month of Ramadan
10
اَلَّذِيْ أَنْزَلْتَ فِيْهِ الْقُرْآنَ
al ladhī anzalta fīhil qur-ān
during which You revealed the Qur'an
11
هُدَىً لِلنَّاسِ وَبَيِّنَاتٍ مِنَ الْهُدَىٰ وَالْفُرْقَانِ
hudan linnāsi wabayyinātin minal hudā walfur-qān
as guidance for people, clear proofs on true guidance, and distinction [between the right and the wrong].
12
وَجَعَلْتَ فِيْهِ لَيْلَةَ الْقَدْرِ
waja`alta fīhi laylatal qadr
You decided the Grand Night to be in it
13
وَجَعَلْتَهَا خَيْرًا مِنَ الفِ شَهْرٍ
waja`altahā khayran minal fi shahr
and You have decided it to be more favorable that one thousand months.
14
فَيَا ذَا الْمَنِّ وَلَا يُمَنُّ عَلَيْكَ
fayā dhal manni walā yumannu `alayk
So, O Lord of graces! None can ever do favor to You!
15
مُنَّ عَلَيَّ بِفَكَاكِ رَقَبَتِيْ مِنَ النَّارِ
munna `alayya bifakāki raqabatī minan nār
please, do me a favor by releasing me from the Fire
16
فِيْ مَنْ تَمُنُّ عَلَيْهِ
fī man tamunnu `alayh
and by including me with those to whom You do this favor,
17
وَأَدْخِلْنِيْ الْجَنَّةَ
wa-adkhilnil jannah
and allow me to enter Paradise,
18
بِرَحْمَتِكَ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِيْنَ
biraḥmatika yā ar-ḥamar rāḥimīn
on account of Your mercy. O most Merciful of all those who show mercy!
